Chapter 133: Chapter 132: Wings of Fate

From afar, it looked peaceful.

Because power did not sleep in this city.

---

Aether sat calmly at one end of the table, his posture relaxed yet perfectly aligned, as though even stillness itself obeyed his control. Across from him sat Liora, her composure immaculate as always, though there was a subtle difference in her gaze tonight—sothing sharper, more attentive, more... invested.

Each one sealed.

---

Near the window, the Fla Sovereign Pup lay curled, appearing to sleep, though the faint twitch of its ears betrayed its awareness. It was listening, sensing, waiting.

---

"I gathered everything you asked for," she said, her voice calm yet carrying a faint edge of curiosity that she did not bother to hide. "Every material you listed—each one verified, each one preserved under the best possible conditions. Even my family’s network needed to stretch its reach to obtain so of them."

"And yet," she continued, her tone softening into sothing more probing, "you never explained how you knew these exact materials would work together. Not even the academy’s elders would be able to make such a claim with certainty."

He simply looked at the jade boxes.

"I know enough," he said.

Liora’s brows twitched almost imperceptibly.

A soft, amused laugh echoed from the side.

Aether ignored the comnt entirely.

Without another word, he reached forward and opened the first jade box.

The pale green powder shimred faintly, each particle carrying a quiet vitality that pulsed like a heartbeat. Even before it was touched, the air around it seed fresher, more alive, as though the essence of an ancient forest had been compressed into a single fragile substance.

When he opened it, a soft golden glow spilled outward.

Unlike the stillness of the crystal dust, the pollen moved. It drifted in slow, deliberate currents, as if guided by an unseen breath, each particle radiating a gentle warmth that carried both healing and spiritual clarity.

Even the Spirit Fairy drifted closer, drawn by the purity of its energy.

The third box remained closed.

"You’re not using all three?" she asked, her tone sharper now.

"The Moondew Nectar is not needed for this evolution," he replied. "Its properties align better with a different path."

"For Dream Bunny?"

There was no hesitation in his answer.

Liora stared at him for a few seconds longer than necessary.

Aether t her gaze.

---

Then, without another word, Liora raised her hand.

And from that light, sothing erged.

It appeared with a gentle flutter, its wings unfolding in layers of white, gold, and pale blue. Each movent released shimring trails of dust that glowed softly before fading into the air. The mont it appeared, the entire room seed to grow lighter, as though its presence alone carried a subtle blessing.

The Fla Sovereign Pup opened one eye, its gaze sharp despite its relaxed posture.

"So this is the little fortune insect," she said lazily.

The butterfly circled once around Liora, then settled near her shoulder, its wings beating softly.

It was subtle.

The cold composure she carried so effortlessly softened, replaced by sothing far more genuine. Her posture relaxed, her gaze warming as she reached up slightly, allowing the butterfly to rest closer to her.

This was sothing she trusted.

---

The shift in her expression.

The quiet bond that existed beyond commands or contracts.

But he understood.

"Bring it here," Aether said, standing.

Aether cleared the center of the room, his movents efficient and precise. The polished floor reflected the faint glow of the materials as he placed them carefully.

Soulspring Pollen to the right.

---

"Not necessary."

"Unnecessary complexity," Aether replied.

"You really enjoy making things sound effortless."

The Succubus laughed again.

Then Aether extended his hand.

Not violently.

But with terrifying precision.

Liora’s eyes widened.

It wasn’t normal.

"Do not interfere," Aether said calmly.

"Accept growth."

The butterfly trembled.

Golden threads appeared between it and Liora, their contract resonating naturally. Emotion flowed through those threads—trust, determination, and a quiet but unwavering bond.

The transformation began.

The butterfly’s body glowed as life energy surged through it. Its wings began to crack—not breaking, but shedding, as if an old limitation was being stripped away.

The pollen poured into it, wrapping around its form in a cocoon of radiant energy.

The air grew heavy with power.

"It’s in pain," Liora said instinctively, stepping forward.

"No," he said. "It’s evolving."

The cocoon spun faster.

Even the Fallen Succubus straightened slightly, her amusent replaced by interest.

---

Crack.

And another.

The cocoon shattered.

And when the light faded—

---

Larger.

Transford.

Its wings expanded into six layered panels, each shimring with gold, blue, and white crystalline light. Patterns flowed across them like living constellations, shifting with every movent. A faint golden ring rotated behind it, like a halo of quiet authority.

Stabilized the spirit.

---

Liora stared.

---

Her expression softened completely.

Aether nodded.

---

A stream of knowledge entered her mind.

"Three abilities..." she murmured.

Fate Blessing.

Sanctuary Light.

"This... this is beyond a standard evolution," she said, her voice unsteady for the first ti.

---

Her usual composure was gone.

"You changed its future."

"I only opened the path," he said. "You were the reason it could walk it."

For a mont—

---

And without thinking—

Not controlled.

But real.

"...That expression suits you more," the Succubus remarked.

But Aether had already seen it.

---

And when he heard that Liora had spent over an hour with Aether—

---

"My Dream Bunny," she said quietly.

"Tomorrow."

Then, after a brief pause—

She left.

The city stretched before him.

Unaware.

Power had grown.

Conflict was already moving.
