"Prominent figures?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Leaders," he clarified, nonchalantly. "From the Fallen Angel and Devil factions."
"What about Heaven?"
He paused, his glowing eyes flickering with sothing akin to amusent. "Ah, I'll get to that part in a mont. But let's just say I didn't know they were leaders at the ti. One thing led to another, and—poof—I was suddenly a very unpopular dragon."
"Sounds like a ss," I said, shaking my head.
"Indeed. To make matters worse, I ended up crossing paths with God—yes, the one who died."
"You an the God?"
"You already knew He's dead?" The dragon tilted his head, clearly surprised.
"Yeah, I know," I said with a shrug.
"Huh. Interesting. Well, back to my story—after that little mishap, I went into hiding. Eventually, I t God in person. Surprisingly, He didn't smite on the spot. Instead, He granted sanctuary in Heaven."
He let out a deep sigh, his tone softening as he continued. "Heaven was beautiful—a lot like Earth, but without all the… unpleasantness. There was even a mountain God gifted to , my own personal retreat. It was a paradise. But one day, God ca to with a request. He needed my help to weaken the 666 Beast so He could seal it away."
I frowned. "You fought the 666 Beast?"
"Not at full strength," the dragon admitted. "I'd just finished recovering from a battle against Great Red and Ophis, and I wasn't in top shape. But I agreed to help. Together, we managed to seal the Beast. However, after the battle, it was clear God wouldn't survive."
"And you?"
"I wasn't in much better condition," the dragon said, his voice tinged with amusent. "But my problem wasn't entirely the battle. Let's just say… I accidentally ate poison. A lot of it."
"Poison?"
"Yes," he grumbled. "There were these red berries—looked like cherries. Turned out they weren't. Too sour for my liking anyway."
I couldn't help but laugh. "So, you're telling the mighty third Heavenly Dragon nearly died from eating the wrong berries?"
He sighed, a mix of exasperation and resignation. "Yes, yes, laugh it up. We Heavenly Dragons all have our… less-than-glorious monts. Anyway, as I lay dying, I made a request to God. I asked Him to turn into a Sacred Gear."
"Why?" I asked, curious.
"So my power wouldn't die with ," he said simply. "God chuckled at my clumsiness but granted my wish. He gave the ability to choose who would wield . And you, Shiro—you're the first."
His words struck , but I pushed aside my awe for the mont. "Alright, so what powers do you grant?"
The dragon chuckled deeply, his massive fra shaking with mirth. "Ah, eager, are we? Very well. My primary magic is lightning—raw, unrelenting power. But unlike Ddraig or Albion, I didn't just train my body. I trained my mind as well. A strong body may falter, but a sharp mind endures."
He leaned closer, his glowing gaze locking onto mine. "In addition to my lightning magic, I wield all forms of magic. However, like Ddraig's Boost and Albion's Divide, I also have a unique ability—Absorb."
"Absorb?" I asked, intrigued.
"Indeed. When an enemy strikes you with their power, I can absorb it, converting it into strength for you. Once the battle is over, they will regain their power—but you will keep the additional strength you gained. With each fight, your power will grow exponentially."
"That's… a lot to take in," I admitted, trying to process everything.
He laughed again. "It is, but you'll understand it better with experience."
"So, basically, I can get stronger by letting people hit ? Their strength gets absorbed into mine, but it doesn't permanently affect them after the battle?" Shiro tilted his head, seeking clarification.
"That's correct," Voltaris rumbled, his deep voice reverberating like distant thunder. "But it does weaken their power during the fight. Their next hit will be noticeably less effective."
"Oh, I get it now," Shiro said, nodding thoughtfully.
"Good. Now, onto the more interesting part," Voltaris continued, his glowing eyes narrowing slightly. "My power is imnse, so imnse that my user becos roughly seventy percent dragon. Don't worry—there won't be any physical changes to your body. However, you'll gain the ability to activate dragon eyes at will, and you'll even be able to sharpen your teeth whenever you feel like it."
"That's so cool!" Shiro's face lit up with excitent.
Voltaris blinked, clearly surprised. "Huh. I thought you'd be upset about sothing like that."
"Upset? Not at all! This ans I can play amazing pranks now!"
"Ah, so you're the type who enjoys being a pain to people."
"Only to the ones I love," Shiro replied with a grin.
"Fair enough," Voltaris said, shaking his massive head. "One more thing—you can summon your Sacred Gear at any ti. Just focus on your hands. My Sacred Gear is called Chaos Lightning. You play gas, right?"
"Yep, all the ti," Shiro replied confidently.
"Good. Let explain it like this—let's say you currently have ten points in strength. When you summon , I'll add thirty more points to that. That number will increase as you grow stronger."
"So, basically, I'm a badass with a badass Sacred Gear," Shiro said, smirking.
"Correct," Voltaris chuckled, clearly amused.
"So, Ddraig is the Red Dragon Emperor, Albion is the White Dragon Emperor, and we're…"
"The Lightning Dragon Emperor," Voltaris finished, his voice swelling with pride.
"Thank God," Shiro sighed in relief. "I would've hated being called the Purple Dragon Emperor."
"You and both," Voltaris replied with a short laugh.
Shiro's mind raced with questions, but one stood out. "Just curious—how long do you think it'll take for to unlock my Balance Breaker?"
Voltaris humd thoughtfully. "At the rate you're training, I'd say a month, maybe two if you're consistent."
Shiro's excitent surged. "Alright, I'll keep at it!"
