Chapter 88: Chapter 88 Departure [Additional update request for follow-up reading]

By the next day, Chu Mingcheng arrived at the dock by nine in the morning, where the boss stood at the ferry, collecting money from custors using his cellphone and having the boatman ferry the custors to the Sky.

The Sky was a large ship, sixty-six ters long, and from the dock, the people on board looked like tiny ants.

Chu Mingcheng paid the remaining balance and also gave a two hundred yuan tip to the boatman. He received a key from the boat owner, which ca with a small tag marked “03”.

The tip for the boatman was essential because it would make his fishing much easier later.

The boatman would provide various services including netting the fish, bleeding, tagging and tying, untangling lines, setting the bottom, and helping with the fishing rigs; the two hundred yuan was well spent.

However, the expenses didn’t stop there once he was on board; he also needed to purchase bait, and after catching big fish, the fishing boat also offered foam boxes and ice.

...

The long box was fifty yuan, the square box was thirty yuan, and upon returning to shore, they would also help arrange logistics, air transport, and so on, at their own cost.

Fortunately, as long as the catch was good, these costs were relatively negligible.

Taking a small boat to the ship, he followed the boatman’s directions to his room.

Walking down the corridor, Chu Mingcheng noticed many doors on the first floor were open; he curiously peeked inside and saw there were only two types of rooms on this floor.

One type was a four-person room, slightly larger, with beds on both the left and right sides, both upper and lower bunks, and indeed, there was a private small bathroom inside.

The custors’ luggage was stored under the ship, but it still felt a bit cramped.

Then there were the double rooms, smaller and also with bunk beds, each bed still one ter wide.

But living in them felt much more comfortable than the four-person rooms, at least they weren’t as cramped.

He then proceeded to the second floor and upon entering the room, found that the rooms there were much drier and not as damp as those on the first floor.

The size of the rooms on the second floor was similar to the two-person rooms on the first floor, but the difference was that there was only one bed here, a small bed of one-ter twenty width.

Sitting on the bed and comparing the three types of rooms, Chu Mingcheng suddenly had the illusion that spending an extra five hundred was quite a bargain, weirdly enough.

Then he put his luggage away and started to carefully check out the room’s arrangent.

Next to the bed was a bedside table which, along with the room, could not be moved.

There was a plug board above, which could be used for charging.

The bedding looked quite clean and had a slight scent of disinfectant.

He didn’t dwell on whether it was dirty or not. After all, enduring a bit of hardship while fishing was quite normal!

He then took the opportunity while there was still a signal to go out on the deck, took a video, and posted it to the custor group.

“Everyone, I am about to go to Xisha to fish for deep sea fish. If I make a catch, I’ll post when I find a signal area, and you can reserve in advance. When I return to shore, I can arrange for an air shipnt directly.”

The mont this ssage was sent, the group exploded.

Each custor expressed anticipation. In Wen City, without connections, it was impossible for them to get deep sea fish from Xisha, unless they had friends who were into deep sea fishing.

Chu Mingcheng did not interact with the custors in the group; since they hadn’t set sail yet, he would discuss the prices after they had caught so fish. Now, it was just a ti to build hype.

Going out to sea to fish at Xisha, most of the ti there’s no signal. There should be a signal when they return and are about two to three hours from shore.

At that ti, he would send photos of his catch to the group, and everyone could place their orders.

Chu Mingcheng checked his bank account; after paying the ship fee, he was left with sixty-seven thousand yuan.

But he still needed to buy bait and other things, which he estimated would cost another two thousand.

Recorded the deposit, and after returning ho and selling all his fish, he would know how much he had earned from this sea voyage.

Custors gradually boarded the ship, and by nine forty, everyone was already on board.

The boat owner then boarded the ship, started the Sky, and the engine began to preheat.

When the ti reached ten o’clock, with a long “beep,” the Sky officially started and began heading toward Xisha.

In the first ten or so minutes of sailing, this sixty-six-ter-long ship was very stable.

However, after so ti had passed, the whole ship began to slowly rise and fall.

Chu Mingcheng stood on the front deck, watching the Sky cut through the waves on the sea, and suddenly longed to quickly go to Xia City and get his first boat.

After watching the scenery for a while, he felt bored and returned to his room.

No one on board had gotten seasick yet, as most of the people who could rent a spot to fish in Xisha were experienced Fishing n and wouldn’t get seasick just from heading out to sea.

At most, they would feel a bit nauseous when the sea beca rougher in deep waters.

In his room, Chu Mingcheng took out his laptop and started editing his recent yellow croaker fishing videos and the ones from his free diving fishing study in Qiongzhou while he had so free ti.

So far, he hadn’t posted many videos on his account, mainly because he had been too busy.

If it weren’t for the popularity from posting videos that could attract so custors and enable him to sell fish at market price, he wouldn’t really want to do it.

The large ship moved slowly up and down on the sea, not like walking on flat land as one might imagine.

For those naturally good at sailing, lying in bed in such circumstances was very comfortable, like lying in a rocking chair.

But for those not good at sailing, their stomachs must have already been churning.

And Chu Mingcheng, rocked by the movents, even yawned out of drowsiness; fortunately, it was already noon, and the crew, using a gaphone, called everyone to the dining hall for lunch, which refreshed him a bit.

The food on board was good, with at, fish, and vegetables, and the crew mbers stood by to serve everyone.

The utensils were disposable, but each person received a set to use until disembarking, and they were of decent quality.

Chu Mingcheng, holding his al, sat at an empty table. He took a bite and found to his surprise that the ship’s chef was very skilled; the communal dishes were quite delicious, stimulating his appetite greatly.

If they wanted more, they could keep getting food until they were full.

The dining hall was large, and the anglers generally had their own small groups, gathering together to talk about their past great achievents.

He even saw a few female anglers together, their voices almost drowning out all the n in the dining hall, truly a fearso sight!

After eating, he washed his utensils, then brought them back to his room.

The first day would be late at night when the ship reached the fishing spot, and everyone would co out for night fishing then.

Chu Mingcheng first went outside to the deck to walk around and digest his food; when the ti reached one in the afternoon, he went back to sleep.

Although he felt alert after lunch, with no imdiate drowsiness, he still shut his eyes to foster a sense of sleepiness.

He had experience with night fishing. If he didn’t rest well in the afternoon, staying up late at night would be extrely uncomfortable.

He fell asleep without realizing it, and by the ti Chu Mingcheng woke up again, it was already past four in the afternoon.

Estimating that dinner would be soon, he got up, freshened up, and then found a crew mber to ask about the fishing schedule. He learned that they would only reach the fishing spot around eleven o’clock at night to fish for deep sea fish like Deep Sea Red Friend, Red Gan, Red Diamond, and Grouper at about one hundred fifty ters deep.

After hearing this, Chu Mingcheng felt prepared. He went back to take out his electric fishing reel and rod; he decided to use the 12 number 8 braided PE line he had bought earlier, and for the leader line, a 30 number carbon line.
