Apocalyptic World: Surviving with my husband and my cute little babies Chapter 16: Aunt Liza
It had been four busy days since Elena was reborn.
She has been focused on stocking food and materials for her space.
Today, she will sign the deal with SupplyLink Brokers.
So she woke up early and prepared a simple breakfast of scrambled eggs and toast.
After breakfast, Elena drove to the SupplyLink Brokers company.
The building infront of her was modern and welcoming.
Inside, she found a conference room where Jake, her contact, was waiting.
"Good morning, Sir Jake," Elena said as she entered.
"Good morning, Miss Elena! Ready to finalize everything?" Jake replied, gesturing for her to sit.
"Yes, I am," she said, pulling her notes.
They discussed the list of materials she wanted for her supermarket.
"We can supply everything and stock your warehouse for around 20 days. It will be ready before you know it," Jake explained, showing her the agreent.
"Sounds good. Let's sign the contract," Elena said.
After signing, they drove to the warehouse Elena had rented.
It was spacious and organized, perfect for her needs.
"This is where the supplies are to be stored," Elena pointed out.
"Noted, and we'll handle everything from here," Jake said, looking pleased.
After their tour, Elena handed Jake a copy of the key.
"Here's a key to the warehouse. You can stock the materials even if I'm not here."
"Thank you, Miss Elena, for your trust. We'll make sure everything is in order," Jake replied.
After finalizing the food supplies, Elena drove ho.
She sat on the sofa and began to think about how to buy a considerable amount of dicine.
Suddenly, Ethan's Aunt Liza ca to her mind; she worked in a famous lab and might have connections to purchase the dicine.
Elena's mind drifted to Aunt Liza's past life.
Aunt Liza had once been on a mission to gather rare dicine from a secluded area.
When the apocalypse struck, she was unprepared, and by the ti Ethan learned of her fate, it was too late.
The fact that she had died without a burial weighed heavily on Ethan and lingered in Elena's mind.
Then Elena thought she would let Ethan create an alibi so that his aunt would not go on that mission and the tragedy wouldn't happen again.
Back in the present, Elena had to contact Aunt Liza about the dicine, but before that, she needed money.
According to her expenses, she only had 250 million green coins left.
She had already used 250 million for upfront paynts for food and water; pending paynts needed to be settled after the deal with SuperLink Brokers and Clear Water Solutions was finalized.
Elena checked her phone, but there were still no updates from her Uncle William.
She felt worried; maybe they back out of the deal.
I really need those funds, she thought.
She'd have to call if she didn't hear from him soon.
She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself.
Let's wait patiently until tomorrow, she said softly, hoping for good news soon.
Elena picked up her phone and dialed Aunt Liza's number, but to her surprise, it was her three-year-old cousin, Mia, who answered cheerfully,
"Wooooo! Hewwo!"
"Hi, Mia! It's sister Elena! How are you?" Elena asked, smiling at Mia's excitent.
"I'm good! I'm pwaying tea party with my dolly! Wanna co?" Mia replied, her words tumbling out in a cute jumble.
"Oh, that sounds fun! What's your dolly's na?" Elena asked.
"She's nad Sparkle McPwincess! She has a gwittery dwess!" Mia said proudly, her eyes sparkling.
"Nice na, what flavor tea are you having?" Elena asked, curious.
"Um... It's magic stwawberry! You can fly when you drink it!" Mia declared, her voice full of joy.
"Whoa! I want to fly! Can you save a cup for when I visit?" Elena said, excited.
"Yesssss! I put extra spwinkles! But you gotta wear a crown like a pwetty pwincess!" Mia explained as if it was a rule.
"Deal! But can you get your mommy for first?" Elena asked.
"Okay! But I'm gonna tell her about the magic tea first!" Mia said, her voice bubbling with excitent.
"Perfect! Can't wait to hear what she says!" Elena replied.
"Okay, bye-bye, sister Elena!" Mia squealed before running off, her tiny feet pattering happily.
As Elena waited, she couldn't help but smile.
Mia's sweet words and imagination reminded her just how special childhood monts are.
"Hello?" Aunt Liza chirped.
"Hi, Aunt Liza! It's Elena. How are you?"
"I'm good, dear! How are you?"
"I'm doing well. I wanted to ask you for a favor. Do you know anyone who has dicine for sale? Our school is collecting donations for villages and orphanages, and we need a good amount." Elena said as she made a clear alibi.
Aunt Liza thought for a mont. "dicine for donation? That's a great cause."
Then continued with a cautious voice.
"Your grandfather and I are still feeling awful about how Ethan had to leave the wedding so abruptly for that mission. Your grandfather keeps nagging to look and talk to you every ti. You know, he may look strict, but he really likes you a lot."
Elena understood her aunt's lingering guilt.
"It was a tough day for everyone, and I understand my husband. He's a policeman, and he has to take his job seriously. Don't worry too much, Aunt, and please let grandfather know I'm fine."
"Okay, I will call him later," Liza replied.
Elena then redirected the conversation.
"But right now, I want to donate dicine to the school. If you could think of anyone who might have access to dicine, that would be a huge help."
"Of course, dear. I have a friend who works as a dicine distributor. I can reach out to her and see if she can help you with so dicine. I'll pass along her contact details as soon as I talk to her."
"Thank you so much, Aunt Liza! That would really be a huge help."
"Not a problem, Elena. And please take care of yourself while Ethan's away."
"Okay, Thanks again! I truly appreciate it. I'll call once Ethan is back!"
"Okay, take care."
"You too, Aunt."
After hanging up, Elena rembered she also needed hospital equipnt.
Then, she decided to let Ethan handle that when he returned.
