Apocalyptic Rebirth: With a repairman system space, she rises again. Chapter 88: A divorce on the base!
The food court was the final place that Sunshine visited. It was a place where cooked or processed foods from different worlds were sold by different vendors. It was one gigantic mall with restaurants and food factories.
"No wonder that fool Cassius had a harem, with access to all this food, a lot of won were willing to follow him." She mumbled.
How did she miss the signs? Was it because she was always fighting one battle or another outside and when she returned to their base the won were well fed and well behaved. She always assud the food was their own, acquired with their money.
Back then, she was just grateful that Cassius was well liked and had people willing to care for him in her absence. By the ti she realized they were his won, it was too late.
Slapping her cheeks gently, she woke herself up from the mories of the past and scrolled through what foods were being offered. Sunshine discovered a whole new world of bizarre.
Astro burgers that were shaped like constellations and cooked by nanites! Zero-G noodles that could suspend themselves in midair for one to slurp hands free. Coffee that was promised to be strong enough to make breakfast feel like a jump through ti.
Huge infinite pizza slices that contained other smaller pizza slices inside like Russian nesting dolls. Bread whose taste changed to reflect your current mood.
Vegetables that could only be tasted if one believed they existed!!
Carbonated beverages that stopped fizzing with the dip of a finger.
Black hole donuts that were so dark, they appeared to be inedible and yet were marked as best sellers!
Artificial ats that tasted exactly like at but produced from vegetables. They were also best sellers.
Sunshine shuddered. She was a pure at lover, 100% omnivore. Everything that was said to taste just as good as at often turned out to be unappetizing.
The ice cream seed normal until she ca across anti-ice cream. It was also ice cream but approved by doctors to lt anger away!!
The flavors had funny nas like: Forgive -o-Lemon, Forget It-Milky Mango, Let It Go Berry, Now You Feel Good Cookie Crunch!!
"What the heck!" Sunshine gasped and laughed. She wondered whose naming ideas these had been. While they were direct, they were simply too hilarious.
Not all the foods were bizarre. She found a lot of normal foods, so were similar in shape to what they had on earth like popcorn, chips, sandwiches, grapes and more. As for the taste, she would only find out after purchasing so.
Sunshine recognized the packaging for so of the foods. She had seen it in the apocalypse. It was definitely Cassius’s work. Now that she thought about it, sotis when she was angry with him, he would give her ice cream as a peace offering. This was especially in the last two years of the apocalypse after he showed signs of recovering.
He would hand it to her in a small cup because ice cream was expensive and they had to rationalize. After two spoons, her anger would miraculously lt away and she would forgive him.
"That son of a dog!! he was drugging ." She gasped.
What had he been giving her? It had to be the Forget It Milky Mango and Let It Go Berry. She would have to taste so to be completely certain but she was sure it was one of those two.
When she t him again, she would punch him to her hearts content. For now, she would just concentrate on surviving.
"I should buy so of these snacks. Let see how much it costs." She mumbled.
Gold was an acceptable currency. She bought so popcorn, normal ice cream and infinite pizza. The kids would get a kick out of that one.
The phone rung just as she was switching to the processed ats section.
"Finally." she said.
Swiftly, she answered. The call was coming from another repairman, and he wanted to outsource so of his work. The task was fixing couple of smart ho fridges and washing machines.
Sunshine was disappointed that it was not sothing cool like a starship. But when she thought about it, she was still ranked low among repairn. Who would trust her to fix a starship?
She accepted the task and got to work. Points and coins, that was what mattered.

Inside the pharmacy on the base, three n were up to no good. Hades, Owen and Dwayne were working on the muting Helena Drew temporarily plan.
Owen had never been part of such a sche and his hand was trembling as he added licorice root to the potion Dwayne had guaranteed would bring peace to the base.
This peace was very necessary because that morning, as early as 6:00 a.m., Helena was at the information center ranting about the sudden announcent on the reduced rationing of milk.
When told that it was applying to adults and the children would still be receiving their daily milk, she was further enraged and scread discrimination.
"Did you hear about the milk?" Owen asked nervously.
Dwayne groaned. "I was on patrol in the second wall, nearing the end of my shift. She marched into the information center and damn near burst my ear drums. She said in a ti of survival, there should be no discrimination basing on age or gender. If we were out there without protection that woman would snatch food out of children’s hands without remorse."
Hades tapped the pot of milk tea that was brewing. "And that is why we are doing this. We don’t want to throw her out in the acid rain but my God!! the woman is terrible."
"Apparently she has been making life uncomfortable for the Poncho clan." Owen turned his head around and shared. "Ever since they arrived, she has been calling them criminals and saying they belong with the riffraff in the first wall."
Hades was shocked. "Riffraff!! Why haven’t I heard about this?"
"She said it to Tia, Major Elio’s wife and Tia told Lisha who told my sister and then ." Owen broke down the route through which the gossip had traveled. "I told them not to repeat it or else we might have our first murder on the base."
"I think her husband is thinking of taking drastic asures. He took one look at her when she was throwing the milk tantrum and he went off to find Cyrus Shaw." Dwayne shared.
Owen gasped. "The divorce lawyer on the base!"
The information center spent half the day sharing nas of the experts on the base in different fields and where they could be found. Cyrus Shaw needed no introduction, he was one of the most famous divorce attorneys in the city.
Hades had brought the man to the base to handle divorces and separations and child custody matters. If what Dwayne was saying, they would have there first divorce on the base soon.
Dwayne unwrapped a box of sugar cookies and dusted them with so white powder. "Milk and cookies, her favorite things. Should I prepare the antidote too?"
Hades nodded. "But only to be used after we kick her off the base and give her to Jon. She will no longer be our problem."
At around 1:02 p.m., Sunshine introduced the boys and Hades to her finished robot dog which Earl proudly nad Robo-dog.
To celebrate the new addition to the family, she surprised them with Infinite pizza. For once, Ariel was so shocked that he found himself speechless.
He had just one question. How was it possible?
Their lunch was coming to a close when they were interrupted. Lisha that ca over to share two things. Helena Drew’s voice had disappeared and her husband was seeking a divorce.
Sunshine looked at her husband in surprise. "You didn’t!" She exclaid.
