The fierce beasts still kept on ramming the protective shield. They kept on coming, pouring out from the forest and surrounding the base.

"How long will this protective shield be able to hold on?" Lin Yuyao muttered in worry. She was standing beside her younger brother, who was clutching the crossbow in his hand tightly.

Lin Yu’an pursed his lips.

Fang ilin happened to pass by and heard her question. The feeling of hesitation took over, making footsteps stop. She stood there, deep in thought.

"Sister Fang, are you alright?" Lin Yuyao called out in concern.

Fang ilin was imdiately snapped out of her daze.

"You do have sothing in your mind, Miss Fang? You can tell us..." It was Lin Yu’an who spoke. His eyes were pure and bright, but they looked like they could see through one’s heart.

She sighed as she looked at the siblings. "Let’s talk."

There was no one who wasn’t worried with how the situation was developing. Zhou Yunhan was already aware of Xie Ziyuan’s condition, but for others, she hesitated whether she should tell them or not.

She heard that the Lin siblings were the first beastn who had been following her ancestor, and he even trusted them enough to bring them to the base.

As such, she wanted to tell them the truth.

Fang ilin sighed. "This protective shield was built by Master Xie. In this base, there was no one who could control it but him... these fierce beasts outside can sense that the shield is also weakening. Hence, their relentless attack despite achieving no result for now."

His words made sense, so they thought there might be a female beastman eavesdropping to their conversation?
