Due to the unexpected visit of Wang Quan and others from Changhe Base, Bai Ye, who was supposed to be patrolling outside the Base, returned earlier than planned. After seeing off Wang Quan and his group, he went straight ho, intending to reconnect with Fang Yuxin and, most importantly, clear his na of the false accusations!
He really had absolutely no connection with that girl nad Lu Wei!
However, just as he was surprised to find that Fang Yuxin hadn’t really misunderstood him, and hadn’t yet had ti to be happy, Fang Yuxin actually released Bai Qianqian! This troubleso son stirred things up the mont he ca out!
Bai Ye was extrely frustrated; Bai Qianqian really needed a lesson! He
half-squinted his eyes and looked dangerously at Bai Qianqian, planning to teach this naive son a lesson! As a result, Bai Qianqian boldly glared back defiantly, his expression clearly saying — What are you looking at? I’m not afraid of you!
Bai Ye frowned and was about to discipline Bai Qianqian when the Communicator on his wrist suddenly buzzed. He picked it up and saw a ssage urging him to hurry to the comrcial district. After Wang Quan and others toured the comrcial area, they demanded to visit the farms, livestock areas, factories, and research institutes.
These places are understandably crucial to Hope Base, and Wang Quan and his group didn’t co with good intentions. The hosts naturally didn’t want to take them to these places. Not to ntion Wang Quan and his group, even the people from Hope Base, unless specifically involved, couldn’t enter those areas!
Wang Quan and his group’s demands were truly too rude!
However, those responsible for hosting were under Wang Quan’s influence, not to ntion Wang Quan was accompanied by forty-nine skilled hands. Together, they pressured the "Diplomats" responsible for hosting, almost overwhelming them. They barely managed to stall Wang Quan and his group, and then quickly sent a secret ssage to Bai Ye, urging him to hurry over.
Seeing this ssage, Bai Ye instantly realized he had left too early. He clearly knew Wang Quan’s group didn’t an well but hadn’t stayed, which was truly a mistake! Luckily, nothing happened; otherwise, he would have been held accountable!
Thinking of this, he briefly explained the situation to Fang Yuxin and rushed out, not even bothering to scold Bai Qianqian, the troubleso son.
Hope Base had developed to its current state through great effort; it mustn’t be destroyed by the people from Changhe Base!
While Bai Ye hurried over, Wang Quan and his group were already getting impatient. Once inside Hope Base, they quickly noticed the residents’ spirits here were entirely different from those in their own Changhe Base and other Bases.
Instead of the apathy or despair they often saw, the residents here bore an optimistic and hopeful aura. If superpower users displayed such expressions, they wouldn’t find it surprising, as superpower users possessed greater strength than ordinary people and found it easier to survive in this harsh apocalypse.
However, although the freezing weather ant there weren’t many pedestrians, they still noticed that every person they encountered, whether ordinary people or superpower users, had a genuine sense of contentnt and happiness on their faces. Especially upon reaching the comrcial district, there were surprisingly many people shopping for New Year’s goods!
Although many people weren’t buying much, just symbolically purchasing a little, it was enough to astonish them! Superpower users were better off, but unless ordinary people had special connections, they couldn’t hope to live well and were barely getting by day by day.
Those people roughly understood their fate; thus, although many were still young, their faces showed no vigor, only gloom and apathy. They dared not hope for the future, as the re idea of "future" had already beco a luxury for most!
Long Province had been unbearably cold lately, and although zombies and mutated creatures rarely erged, many people still froze to death daily within the Base.
If not for realizing that this situation couldn’t continue, Wang Quan and his group wouldn’t have traveled all the way to Hope Base seeking to benefit. Despite not being particularly cold-hearted, upon hearing daily reports of how many people had frozen to death from their subordinates, they couldn’t help but feel distressed.
