Yang Bo and Han Lingxi sat in the car, but this ti, soone else took the wheel, as Yang Bo joined Han Lingxi in the backseat. The car had been modified, with the driver compartnt and the rear space completely separated, so the driver had no idea what was happening behind them.
Yang Bo looked at the ssage he had just received on the Communicator and, with anger seething, punched the supple leather seat, cursing under his breath, "Damn it!"
Seeing his reaction, Han Lingxi, concerned, looked at him and asked, "What’s happened?" As she spoke, she had already grabbed the Communicator from Yang Bo’s hands to read the ssage. Upon seeing the content, her delicate brows furrowed tightly, and she exclaid, "How could this be?"
Yang Bo, irritatedly ruffling his hair, with a dark expression, said, "We’ve miscalculated this ti. I didn’t expect those people to be so cunning and resourceful! A good move on our part, but in the end, it just played right into soone else’s hands! I simply cannot accept it!"
However, Han Lingxi thought of sothing else. When they were at Qiankun Hotel earlier, to prevent the people from White Wolf rcenary Corps from sending out any ssages, they had turned on a jamr. Consequently, they were also unable to receive any ssages. That’s why they only found out later that the research facility had been raided by a mysterious expert, and even the two Level 4 Superpower Users there had been seriously injured—one of them hadn’t woken up yet!
Just thinking about it made Han Lingxi feel apprehensive. Beishi Base had always been relatively peaceful—how could a mysterious expert suddenly appear and deliberately sabotage their plans? Han Lingxi was startled and instinctively glanced at Yang Bo, only to see his grim expression and the intense anger seemingly contained within his eyes, she asured her words and said, "Brother Yang, that person is very strong. Han Lingxi watched him issue one order after another without speaking, but she felt that Yang Bo might not be able to find anything useful.
Not long after Yang Bo issued the commands, his subordinates sent over the information he had requested. Han Lingxi had been sitting beside him all along; when she heard the notification sound from the Communicator, she leaned against him to look at the screen. Displayed was the registration information of outsiders who had co to Beishi Base in the past month. There weren’t many nas listed—just a total of ten people, most transferring from other bases, and their profiles indicated that these individuals were all Second-level Superpower Users.
Second-level Superpower Users were common in Beishi Base; though their powers were respectable, their large numbers made them seem ordinary. Yang Bo ticulously reviewed the information about each person listed, then said to Han Lingxi, "The person must be among these, but it’s not clear who exactly. Lingxi, could you tell if the person was male or female?"
Han Lingxi shook her head with frustration and said, "That person has a very strange power. Although I can sense their location with my spiritual power, my spiritual power couldn’t penetrate that mysterious force. I could only vaguely ’see’ a blurred figure, so I couldn’t tell if it was a man or a woman."
