Fang Yuxin watched as the battle grew more intense, the Qiankun rcenary Group mbers gradually unable to hold their ground, continuously overrun by the White Wolf rcenary Corps pushing into the research facility. Her eyes narrowed slightly, and she let out a mocking laugh.
She found it hard to believe that with Zhao Qiankun’s abilities, the defense of the research facility would be so weak—this was clearly a trap! However, it seed that the mbers of the White Wolf rcenary Corps had totally failed to recognize it. As the battle beca more chaotic, she no longer waited and directly infiltrated the research facility.
As Fang Yuxin walked deeper, she was also sowhat worried. If this place was indeed a trap, could she still find what she was looking for? Thinking of this, she quickened her pace and deliberately released her Spiritual Sense to scout the entire facility. This initial survey revealed so clues.
The research facility had six levels, three above ground and the remaining three constructed underground. The above-ground research was fairly ordinary, and the equipnt was nothing special. However, the underground section looked more like sothing out of a science fiction movie, even the equipnt placed there looked far more advanced!
Fang Yuxin knew next to nothing about the world’s cutting-edge research, so whether these underground devices were from this world was unclear even to her. All she knew was that these devices were far superior to those at Hope Base, and would definitely be very useful if she could take them back!
She couldn’t bear to leave such valuable items for Zhao Qiankun or Bai Zhengyi. Fang Yuxin smiled, about to sneak underground when she suddenly felt her Spiritual Sense making contact with a spiritual power! Startled, she then heard a stern shout from below, "Who is there?"
Imdiately after, the distinct presence of a Spiritual power clung to her released Spiritual Sense, trying to trace it back to her. Fang Yuxin decisively severed that trace of Spiritual Sense and searched more intensively with her Spiritual Sense. She then saw that the one who had discovered her was a middle-aged man. He wore a white lab coat, his face marked with deep wrinkles, gray hair, and a look both stern and aged.
But his gaze was incredibly sharp, like a keen blade, and even his spiritual power gave Fang Yuxin a chilly, sticky feeling.
This was a Level 4 mid-stage Spiritual Superpower User, difficult to handle!
Fang Yuxin quickly made up her mind, difficult or not, she needed what was in this place!
At that mont, mbers of the White Wolf rcenary Corps, wielding guns, had burst in, sprinting toward the labs. Fang Yuxin suddenly realized that besides those wearing lab coats, there were unexpectedly no additional guards in the research facility! What was going on?
She was startled, and quickly scoured the area with her Spiritual Sense. Then, she saw small spray devices on the ceiling. The White Wolf rcenary Corps also quickly realized sothing was amiss when one of them suddenly shouted, "Wait a second! Everyone, don’t rush in!"
However, just as he finished speaking, the spray devices on the ceiling suddenly emitted puffs of white smoke. The smoke surged downward, presumably heavier than air. As soon as the smoke descended, the people below started succumbing to its effects.
Seeing things going bad, Fang Yuxin glanced around, already grabbing a handful of seeds. Erging from folded space, she quickly ford several hand gestures and threw her hands forward, scattering countless seeds that transford into green wooden thorns flying toward the laboratory’s glass.
The ground-level buildings of the research facility were structured in a square layout, connected by an elevator in the middle, sowhat like a mall. When the smoke sprayed out, the gaps of the laboratories were all sealed off, ensuring no smoke could infiltrate the labs, but those who rushed in from the White Wolf rcenary Corps were in trouble.
Fortunately, superpower users were no fools; as soon as the smoke appeared, they imdiately enveloped themselves with superpowers to fend off the smoke’s intrusion. But so still fell victim, slumping to the ground limply.
Fang Yuxin quietly probed the condition of these people with her Spiritual Sense, noticed they were still breathing and not dead, and guessed that the smoke must be so sort of knockout gas, and the Qiankun rcenary Group had no intention of a total massacre.
However, after erging from the folded space, though still under the effects of invisibility, if soone ca close, they would bump into her. So after her initial strike, Fang Yuxin imdiately re-entered the folded space. Her earlier attack also served as a wake-up call to the mbers of the White Wolf rcenary Corps, who quickly responded with dense gunfire, all starting to shoot at the laboratory windows.
