Ling Xuanu stared at the blue screen hovering in front of her.

"Laurel, you can take over now." She said, a little bored.

"Okay," Laurel replied.

Her body went still for a mont, as if frozen to her spot. Her expression was blank, then slowly, her eyes fluttered.

Laurel’s expression softened, as she took over the body.

The huge door creaked open. "Ma’am, welco back," Nate said as he walked towards her.

"How is everything over here?" Laurel asked, walking inside the valley.

"Everything is going well, ma’am. The workers are almost done with the construction, it’s just remaining the towers and the wall at the back entrance. They had to bring a tractor to clear out the bushes and trees, as it was far away." Nate said, following after her.

Laurel’s gaze swept through the vast land behind the warehouse. She was stunned at how big it was, stretching so far that she could not see the end, except from the mountain top visible from afar.

She had really hit a jackpot without even realizing it. The land was big enough to be considered a small town. The stream flowed right beside the land. And the civil engineers had used tractors to pave roads, and streets on the land.

Most houses were completed, they were small like sumrhouses, they weren’t fully completed, but the view was already giving a town-like view.

The center of the valley was the lowest, and anyone can see the view just by standing at the higher periters around it.

A huge mansion was being constructed right at the heart of the valley, and another huge walls were built around it as if separating it from the masses, however, the space inside was big enough to form districts around it.

"They have already started building the walls, and it will be completed in a few days. And as for the warehouse, it is tightly secured, we make sure no one cos close." Nate added.

"You have done a good job, Nate. Thank you," Laurel turned to him, her eyes filled with gratitude.

Nate lowered his head slightly. "I’m just doing my job." He paused, pressing his lips into a thin line. "If I may ask ma’am, why are you building all of this? At first, I thought you were an entrepreneur when all those supplies ca, but now..." He trailed off, as he glanced at the massive walls.

"... this is a fortress, if I’m not mistaken. The walls... it makes wonder what you are trying to keep in."

"Nate, we have known each other for so ti now," Laurel said. "These walls are ant to stop sothing from coming in. Humanity is heading towards a perilous ti, and only these preparations can save us."

Nate frowned, unable to comprehend the aning behind her words. "Perilous tis?"

"When that ti cos, you’ll rember our conversation." Laurel turned to walk away, but halted mid-step. She glanced over her shoulder. "You and your family are welco to stay, Nate." She didn’t wait for his reply before walking towards the warehouse.

Laurel didn’t want to tell him too much of her plans or what was truly coming. One word from him and their hideout would beco public, attracting a lot of attention.

By the ti she was finished changing into her farming clothes. She glanced at the mission hovering in front of her.

How was it possible to cultivate two rare dicinal plants in such hot weather conditions?

Laurel thought of the herbs’ seeds she had purchased from the Chinese traditional herb shop.

She checked her surroundings, when she was certain no one was around, she vanished into her space system.

Luo, who was busy cleaning the walls, instantly turned its head towards her. "Master Laurel!" it shouted in excitent, as it flew down towards her.

Laurel almost chuckled because of Luo’s overexcitent. "I was here like twenty minutes ago." She replied, teasing it a little.

"But I missed you, it’s boring here without you." Luo lowered its head, making a crying face.

"Boring?" Laurel drawled. "Where is sister Ling Xuan?"

Luo shot his tiny hands into the air. "Don’t look for her, else I would be turned into a target, or a punching bag!"

Laurel smiled at his overdramatic reaction. "Fine, I won’t look for her."

She turned towards the blue door where their supplies were stored.

"Do you want to check the store out?" Luo asked, tilting its head slightly to the side.

Laurel nodded. "I need to check the seeds I have in there." She muttered under her breath.

"Then co with ." Luo waved its hand at her, gesturing to her to follow it.

When they got to the entrance of the door, it brightened a little bit before opening. The mont they crossed over to the other side, it was like they had completely entered a different world.

The roof above was like a starry night, and the wooden shelves stretched far into the distance. It was arranged like a supermarket, row after row, with na tags on each section.

However, to Laurel, it appeared more like a labyrinth. How the hell was she supposed to find what she was looking for? It was so vast, that it felt it would take her years to get to the section she was looking for.

"How am I supposed to find what I want?" She asked with a sigh.

Luo raised one of his fingers. "No worries, the space system is very considerate towards the masters."

Luo floated in the air, towards what appeared to be a wall, however, it was more like a space separated by a thin filant. Luo placed its hand on it, and a small stand appeared in front of Laurel.

On the stand was a blue screen with a search bar and a keypad with letters and numbers on it.

Laurel was amazed. She gave a thumbs up to Luo before typing dicinal herbs on it. The mont she clicked the search button. The sections of shelves began to rotate, until the dicinal herbs section stopped in front of her.

"Wow," Laurel’s mouth opened wide, at how effective the search system was.

Laurel stepped forward and began to browse through the section. The air was very humid and the temperature was high. She needed to cultivate a plant that could grow in such extre weather conditions and it had to be a Grade C classified plant.

She stopped in her spot, when she saw a plant na from the peripheral view.
