Chapter 172: The Fall of Spectrum Squad

Avery let out a sigh.

“I underestimated you, Alex.”

Alex took off his helt and said lightly, “It’s not too late to realize it now.”

“Yeah,” Avery sighed bitterly. “If I had known the result would be like this earlier, I wouldn’t have been so reckless. I would have waited for the right mont and struck decisively.”

“It’s suicide to be enemies with soone like you.”

Alex admitted.

Though Alex didn’t particularly like Jas, he was surprised by the vast difference between Avery and his brother.

Alex found himself sowhat admiring Avery.

No wonder so many people were wholeheartedly following him.

“I never intended to be enemies with Spectrum Squad. It was your brother who picked a fight with , wanting to kill ,” Alex continued.

Avery nodded knowingly. “I know, I know my brother the best.”

“But Alex, if soone killed your brother, would you not seek revenge just because it was his fault?” Avery asked with a hint of resignation.

Alex pondered for a mont before replying, “I think my answer would be the sa as yours.”

“Yeah, so I don’t regret it,” Avery said, smiling again.

“Go ahead, shoot,” he added.

Alex raised his gun and aid at Avery.

Bang!

Avery fell slowly.

However, it wasn’t Alex who fired the shot.

It was Skylar, who arrived upstairs.

The mont Skylar saw Avery, he fired a shot at his enemy without hesitation.

He was avenging his fallen brothers!

Then, he pulled the trigger again.

At the sa ti, he was roaring, “Die!”

The M4 rifle emptied its magazine.

Avery was riddled with bullets, almost unrecognizable.

Skylar knelt on the ground, a burly man sobbing uncontrollably, then bursting into laughter, seeming almost insane.

The struggle between Spectrum Squad and Legion of Glory finally ca to an end on this day.

Legion of Glory naturally took over all the territories that Spectrum Squad previously controlled, officially becoming the rulers of the East District.

This event not only shocked the survivors of City 25 but also sparked discussions among survivors across the entire East District.

[Chat Channel]

Jordan: “It’s a new era now. Legion of Glory will call the shots in City 25 from now on. I always thought Spectrum Squad would have the last laugh, but Legion of Glory actually wiped them out.”

Parker: “Yeah, who would’ve thought Legion of Glory could defeat Spectrum Squad? No one would have believed it before.”

Erson: “That’s right. Even though they were evenly matched before, Spectrum Squad would have had the upper hand in a real fight. But they got wiped out instead.”

Kennedy: “You guys don’t know yet, do you? From what I’ve heard, Legion of Glory got help from Alex to take down Spectrum Squad.”

Soone recounted the events of that day.

Many people witnessed the scene at that ti; it was impossible to keep it a secret. Soone would inevitably spill the beans.

Quinn: “Is it true? This Alex actually helped Legion of Glory destroy Spectrum Squad?”

Harper: “Alex is amazing!”

Sawyer: “I heard about this from so guys in Legion of Glory too. It was impressive! Legion of Glory was almost beaten by Spectrum Squad, but then Alex appeared like a godsend and turned the tide!”

Morgan: “I also heard that Spectrum Squad sent many people to Alex’s mansion to kill him, but Alex wiped them all out with an armored car!”

Through this incident, many people truly recognized Alex’s strength.

Indeed, there’s no falsehood beneath a great reputation.

While people were still digesting this shocking news, Alex had already left Spectrum Squad’s headquarters.

In accordance with the previous agreent with Legion of Glory, he took away eighty percent of Spectrum Squad’s resources.

After the depletion from the previous intense battle, there wasn’t much left.

Apart from so weapons, there were only so alloys and living supplies.

For Alex, they weren’t of much use.

He found a Ferrari sports car and drove straight ho.

Perhaps he had rolled down the windows too much, or perhaps his combat suit had been worn for too long; he felt a bit cold.

” Twenty-Two.”

“What’s wrong, my master?”

Twenty-Two, sitting in the passenger seat, responded promptly to Alex’s call.

Alex continued, “What do you think is the aning of our endless fighting? Is it to protect our loved ones and hurt others’ beloved ones?”

Blue light flickered in Twenty-Two’s eyes.

“I’m sorry, my master, I don’t know how to answer that question. But if you want advice on how to fight, I can provide you with a series of instructional videos.”

“Well, you’re just a fighting robot, asking you is pointless. I must be silly,” Alex chuckled self-deprecatingly.

“But, how wonderful our previous lives were. Even though there were conflicts in the old world, to the point that so couldn’t recognize their own mothers anymore, and we had to buy houses and cars, life still had so hope.”

“In this post-apocalyptic world, nobody knows how long they’ll live.”

“Master, do you really want to go back to the old world?” Twenty-Two asked.

Alex was struck as if by lightning at this question.

Returning to the old world was probably a dream for most survivors.

But many people, after coming to the post-apocalyptic world, had already overlooked one thing.

Or perhaps, they hadn’t paid attention to it.

That was how they had co to this post-apocalyptic world.

So many people, overnight, ca to a completely unfamiliar and eerie world; that itself was a very abnormal thing.

And survivors could be infected and turned into zombies…

Alex seed to have so vague direction, but couldn’t quite articulate it.

It seed that there were still many mysteries in this world, waiting to be unraveled over ti.

As Alex pondered, he unconsciously drove back ho.

Alex got out of the car, smiling as he opened the door to his ho.

“Let’s go ho and eat. Only when we’re full can we have the energy to think about things…”

After finishing his al, Alex sorted through the gains from this operation and listed the surplus items on the trading channel.

One bottle of mineral water, one experience point.

One cigarette, one experience point.

One bottle of white wine, ten experience points.

One Longines watch, ten experience points.

One pack of coffee, ten experience points.

One bulletproof vest, ten experience points.

One drop of special herbicide, thirty experience points.

As expected, as soon as Alex listed the items, the chat channel exploded.

“Oh my god, what’s this? How did so many supplies suddenly appear?!”

“Wow, is this so big shot selling off goods?”

“Cigarettes? I’m crying! After being in the post-apocalyptic world for so long, I can finally have a smoke!”

“A cigarette after a al is like living in paradise.”

“White wine, my favorite!”

“Who is it? How can they be so generous?”

“Look, there’s even special herbicide! Can it really eliminate mutant plants?!”

“Now that mutant plants are rampant and extrely harmful, if the special herbicide works, that would be fantastic!”

“Just as I expected! These supplies may not an much to , but for others, it’s completely different.”

Seeing the lively chat channel, Alex smiled faintly.
