The rice and flour, seasoning, ready-to-eat, frozen goods, and tobacco and alcohol sections—Ji Wanwan didn't pass up any of them. Anything useful, anything she set her eyes on, she took them all!

After about three hours of browsing, the two of them had almost completely covered the supermarket, save for the last area—

The fresh food section.

The fresh food section housed fresh fruits and vegetables, as well as fresh beef, mutton, pork, poultry, and seafood.

Havoc reigned for over half a month, and without anyone to maintain the supermarket, it was likely that the food in the fresh food section had long since spoiled.

Before even getting close, Ji Wanwan already slled an odious stench of rot that made one's stomach turn.

She stopped in her tracks, staring intently at the fresh food section, her expression grave.

Sothing was off; there was an indescribable scent of decay mixed with a distinct sll of corpse.

Xu Siming also caught a whiff of the sll, "Should we go have a look?"

At this mont, Ji Wanwan, who was not lacking in supplies, shook her head, "No, let's head back."

With the situation unclear, she didn't want any unintended complications...

Just as the thought crossed her mind, Ji Wanwan saw a pale hand stretch out from the fresh food section.

The hand was long and moved fast, grabbing a shelf outside of the fresh food area in the blink of an eye. Then, as the hand began to shorten, a small zombie appeared in their line of sight.

The zombie's arms chaotically changed length, climbing the racks like rock climbing, swiftly scaling to the topmost shelf before glaring down loftily at the two living people below.

Its movents were as agile and swift as a monkey in a zoo, incredible to behold.

"Susu susu susu..."

A series of fine footsteps sounded off, and soon another zombie appeared beside the small one. This zombie was even smaller, only the size of an adult's forearm.

With its disproportionately large head and small body, it moved peculiarly, with its hands and feet touching the ground like an animal. It resembled a giant ant and was now obediently crouching next to the small zombie, seemingly waiting for orders.

The two people, about to leave, were stunned.

Was this an animal infected by the zombie virus or an evolved high-level zombie?

Ji Wanwan inclined toward the latter.

She kept a careful watch on the two zombies above, a axe taken out from the System Space already in her hand.

"What do we do now?" Xu Siming, equally ready for battle, whispered to Ji Wanwan beside him.

The latter bit her lip, "I suspect they are evolved high-level zombies. The one in the small shop earlier might be one too; I don't know if it will co over here.

The combat abilities of high-level zombies are unknown, and there are at least three here. Let's not act rashly.

Let's keep our backs to each other, walk and retreat at the sa ti, if the enemy doesn't move, we don't move, if the enemy moves, I'll teleport us away..."

As soon as she finished speaking, a shadow fell over their heads.

The bat-like zombie, as expected, had also arrived.

In the instant the bat zombie swooped down, the monkey zombie's hand also reached out toward them.

"Whoosh—"

It happened too quickly to react.

Ji Wanwan grabbed Xu Siming's hand and teleported them back to Weilan Fitness Club.

"Aaaaah!"

What ca with them was the monkey zombie that had already grabbed onto Ji Wanwan.

The mont they landed, Ji Wanwan sprung into action, flinging the not-yet-biting monkey zombie off her.

Luckily, she was wearing bullet-proof armor; the monkey's fingers were sharp, but they didn't hurt her.

The instant the monkey zombie hit the ground, it rolled away quickly, avoiding the military shovel that Xu Siming swung at it imdiately afterward.

Once it steadied itself, the Ant Corpse also climbed down from its back.

Ji Wanwan's mouth twitched...

Great, she had transported these two over as well.

The noises just now had also alerted two other low-level zombies inside the Weilan Fitness Club, both of which rapidly closed in on the pair.

Having expended too much spiritual power earlier, Ji Wanwan was unable to initiate another transport in such a short amount of ti; they had to withstand an onslaught of zombies.

The two of them held weapons, back to back.

High-level zombies were different from low-level ones; they seed to retain a certain level of intelligence, not rely slaves to fresh flesh like the low-level zombies.

As the low-level zombies lunged at Ji Wanwan and her companion, the two high-level zombies didn't move from their spot.

It wasn't until Xu Siming started to hack at the two low-level zombies that the high-level zombies made their move.

Ji Wanwan, who had been keeping a close watch on the two, saw the monkey zombie stretch out its arm, grab the chandelier on the ceiling, and leap to hang there.

anwhile, the Ant Corpse used all its limbs to run towards Ji Wanwan with extre speed.

Ji Wanwan didn't dare fire her gun for fear of drawing the attention of zombies outside; she picked up the axe and swung it at the Ant Corpse.

However, the Ant Corpse was too small and fast; Ji Wanwan had a hard ti hitting her target.

Not only that, Ji Wanwan also noticed that the Ant Corpse had strong destructive power. It could easily bore through the steel-made gym equipnt, hiding inside them.

In just tens of seconds, the Ant Corpse had already launched three sneak attacks on Ji Wanwan. At one point, the monkey zombie also stretched out its arm, ready to pounce, but Ji Wanwan rolled away to avoid it.

Seeing the Ant Corpse burrow into an elliptical machine, Ji Wanwan's forehead broke out in cold sweat.

There was no ntion of such zombies in the last life!

This little creature runs fast and can hide well; above, there's a monkey zombie ready to launch a sneak attack at any mont. How are they supposed to fight these?

Suddenly, the Ant Corpse ran out from the elliptical machine. This ti, it didn't attack Ji Wanwan but instead rushed toward Xu Siming with great speed.

"Senior, watch out!"

Ji Wanwan slid into a tackle, kicking a discus beside her towards the Ant Corpse.

"Thump!"

A muffled sound of tal colliding echoed as the Ant Corpse was struck, slowed down but didn't stop its assault.

Ji Wanwan stared dumbfounded.

Was this little thing's flesh so tough?

With this mont of respite, Xu Siming, who had just killed the two low-level zombies, quickly turned around and raised his machete to block.

Seeing an opening, the monkey zombie on the ceiling pounced towards Xu Siming's head.

"Senior!!!"

Ji Wanwan's eyes reddened as she summoned a Space Barrier, trapping the Ant Corpse inside.

She wanted to crush the Ant Corpse by compressing the Space Barrier just like she did with Second Uncle but lost control due to the depletion of her spiritual power.

Confused, the Ant Corpse mindlessly ramd into the barrier until with a loud "boom," the barrier broke, and due to the rebound, the Ant Corpse lay on the ground motionless for a good while.

Using her Space superpower once again, Ji Wanwan's spiritual power was severely overdrawn, and a ringing sound imdiately filled her ears while her vision began to darken.

"Buzz—"

The world in front of Ji Wanwan swayed.

Between the blurring and the clearing, she saw the Ant Corpse getting up from the ground, furiously rushing towards her, and the monkey zombie from the ceiling stretching out its hand toward her...

Clenching her teeth, she raised the axe, murmuring, "Can't fall... must not fall..."
