Chapter 510: Chapter 510: Nanobots

Su Jiyai’s eyes lit up, and she took a small step back. “Wait… are you saying I can control Deimos’s puppets?”

[Not control, exactly. You can absorb their powers. Basically, the link is what you are absorbing. You won’t be able to gain anything, but the pawns of Deimos will be weakened.]

Su Jiyai’s mouth dropped open. “Wait, wait, wait—absorb their link? Like… suck the control line out of them?”

[Exactly. The power doesn’t give you anything new, but it steals the connection Deimos has over them. Once it’s gone, they beco like lost puppies.]

“Lost puppies that might still try to bite ,” she muttered, scratching her cheek. “But hey, better than being Deimos’s attack robots.”

She paced a little, thinking hard. “So if I’m near one of his puppets… the link starts fading? And they get weaker?”

[Correct. The longer you’re near them, the more unstable they beco. If you stay close long enough, Deimos will lose full control.]

Su Jiyai suddenly grinned. “That’s… actually aweso! I could sneak into one of his bases and ss up his whole army without even fighting!”

[Warning: only pawns with weak minds are easily affected. Strong ones may resist or alert Deimos.]

“Ugh, always a catch,” she groaned. “But still… this power is sneaky. I like it.”

Su Jiyai crossed her arms and stared into the air. “System,” she said, “are all the nanobots multiplied yet?”

[Multiplication is complete, Host. Would you like to see the current status?]

“Yeah, show ,” she said, curious.

Right away, a glowing blue screen appeared in front of her eyes. It was the system interface, filled with tiny moving icons. In the middle was a small, silver robot picture with the na Nano-Guardian V1.0. Su Jiyai blinked when she saw the price tag.

“One million coins?!” she nearly shouted.

[Affirmative. Each nanobot costs one million.]

Her eyebrows shot up. “Why so much? That’s insane! Is it made of gold or sothing?”

[Negative. The nanobots are hard to produce. The materials used to make them are extrely rare, and the process is very precise. Each nanobot also carries multiple built-in ergency dicines and boosters.]

Su Jiyai squinted at the screen. “Boosters?”

[Yes. Pain killers, healing agents, anti-virus solutions, and temporary stamina boosters. These are packed inside each unit. The nanobot can detect critical danger and activate automatically to save the user. Even soone on the verge of death can be pulled back.]

She blinked. “That sounds… exaggerated.”

[So far, all system products have functioned as promised.]

Su Jiyai paused. That was true. Everything she had ever bought from the system—no matter how weird or expensive—had always worked. She bit her lip, then slowly nodded.

“Okay, fine. It’s expensive, but if it saves lives… then it’s worth it. Put it on sale.”

[Confird. Uploading product to all Hope Base stores…]

At that mont, in every shop, market stall, and system vending machine across Hope Base, a tiny silver item popped into the display shelves.

………………..

In the downtown market, the crowd was noisy and cheerful, as usual. People were haggling over energy bars, old gear, and canned goods. But suddenly, all the display boards flickered. A new item blinked onto the top shelf.

“Huh? What’s this?” soone said, pointing.

A group of curious people gathered around one machine. On the screen, they saw a tiny silver robot the size of a fingertip. It spun slowly as its na glowed below: Nano-Guardian V1.0.

“Two million points?!” a woman gasped.

“What?! That’s crazy!” a man said. “Is that a typo?”

Everyone leaned closer and tapped the screen. A long description opened up.

[A life-saving nanobot. It contains ergency dicine, healing fluid, and virus neutralizer. Activates automatically when the user is in critical condition. Can protect from death.]

The crowd went silent.

“…Is this a scam?” soone whispered.

“It’s so small,” another person muttered. “It looks like a toy. How can it protect from dying?”

More whispers followed. The crowd looked confused. A few people laughed nervously. So were about to walk away when soone suddenly said,

“Hey, don’t talk nonsense. Boss Su’s products have never scamd us.”

The crowd turned to see an older man in a tattered coat.

“Boss Su had launched many different weapons.”

A woman nodded. “Yeah, and the sunproof cloak she had launched a few months before? It literatlly saved and my entire family.”

“She hasn’t sold junk once.”

The crowd fell quiet again. Slowly, a man stepped forward. “Alright. I’ll buy one.”

He pressed the button. The vending machine blinked once, then spat out a small silver ball into a container. The man picked it up and stared at it.

“Doesn’t look like much,” he muttered.

Two more people followed, buying their own nanobots. Most others watched, still unsure.

………………

Two days later…

A small group of scavengers were outside Hope Base, collecting tal parts from an old bus wreck. Among them were the three people who had bought the nanobots: Jiro, a middle-aged man with a spear; Mali, a young woman with fast legs; and Benta, a quiet man who rarely talked.

Suddenly, the wind changed.

“Guys,” Jiro said, tightening his grip on his spear. “We’re being watched.”

From behind the trees, a horde of zombies burst out.

“RUN!” Mali shouted, throwing a pipe at the first zombie.

The trees rustled like they were alive, and then—

RRAAAAAAAGH!

Dozens of zombies charged out from behind the bushes. Their eyes glowed red, their skin rotting and hanging like torn clothes. So crawled, so leaped, and so sprinted faster than normal.

“RUN!” Mali scread, already hurling a rusty pipe toward the nearest one. It slamd into the zombie’s face, knocking it sideways—but it didn’t fall.

Jiro spun his spear, slashing at one that lunged at him. “They’re fast! These are not normal ones!”

“They’re morph-types!” Benta shouted, smashing a zombie’s head with his crowbar. “Back to the bus!”

The three scavengers fought their way through, breath ragged and hearts pounding. Blood sprayed, tal clanged, and bones cracked as they struggled to push through the horde.

One zombie swung a heavy branch at Mali, smashing it into her thigh. She cried out as pain shot through her leg. She stumbled, barely able to stand, and kicked the zombie away.

Another zombie ramd into Jiro’s side, throwing him against the jagged edge of a broken pole. The tal scraped deep into his back as he fell.

Benta tried to help, but a zombie slamd into his ribs with both arms, throwing him flat onto a patch of broken glass. He rolled to the side, groaning, blood trailing from his arms and back.

“Fall back!” Jiro shouted, clutching his bleeding side.

They limped and stumbled toward the wrecked old bus nearby. It had broken windows and a bent door, but the zombies were too large to get through the narrow entrance.

Inside, the three collapsed, gasping and covered in cuts, bruises, and blood. The groans of the zombies echoed outside, but they were safe—for now.

Jiro slumped against the tal wall. Blood soaked his shirt.

“I… I think this is it,” he whispered.

Mali coughed, holding her leg. “I can’t even move…”

Benta winced as he pulled a shard of glass from his forearm. “We’re not gonna make it…”

Then Jiro’s eyes widened. “Wait—wait! The nanobot! I still have it!”

He reached into his pouch with shaking fingers and pulled out the tiny silver ball.

“It’s just… this tiny thing… how does it even work?”

As he held it, the nanobot suddenly lit up with a soft blue glow.

Bzzt!

It floated into the air, then shifted, transforming into a palm-sized robot with two glowing eyes. It hovered in front of Jiro, scanned his wounds with red laser lines, and let out a soft ping.

A thin mist sprayed from its sides, and it zipped over to his side wound, injecting sothing directly into the deep cut.

“AH—” Jiro gasped, but then suddenly… the pain disappeared.

He stared in shock as the torn skin slowly closed, blood stopping, and color returning to his face.

“It… it’s healing !”

The nanobot zipped to his back, scanned again, then sprayed another mist and pressed its tiny arms to the wound. A warm light glowed, and his skin began to seal.

Jiro blinked in disbelief. “This thing’s a miracle.”

The bot turned toward Mali next. It hovered near her injured leg, scanned the bruising and deep swelling, then injected a clear liquid. In seconds, the inflammation shrank, the bleeding stopped, and Mali let out a slow breath.

“…I can feel my leg again,” she whispered.

Finally, the nanobot floated to Benta. His arm was torn up, his ribs bruised. The bot scanned him, misted his wounds, and began the treatnt. His skin stitched up quickly, and his muscles relaxed.

All three stared at each other, silent for a mont.

“That little robot,” Benta said softly, “just pulled us back from the edge…”

“Boss Su wasn’t kidding,” Jiro said, eyes wide.

They didn’t move, only breathed deeply, still shaken but alive.
