Chapter 330: Chapter 330: Freezing Chapter 330: Chapter 330: Freezing “I don’t know,” muttered a fire-type, her flas dimming as she gazed out over the wall.

“It’s like sothing’s pushing them back.” Then, to the amazent of all present, the temperature plumted.

The oppressive heat that had clung to the base for weeks disappeared, replaced by a sudden chill.

A cool breeze swept through the area, brushing against their skin like a refreshing wind in the midst of sumr.

The change was so abrupt, so palpable, that many of the citizens stared at each other, stunned.

“It’s freezing all of a sudden,” one defender muttered, rubbing his arms as goosebumps rose along his skin.

“But… why?” The invisible forcefield surrounding the base beca faintly visible, not as a solid wall but as a shimring distortion in the air, like heat waves bending the light.

The citizens could sense its presence now, the subtle but unmistakable barrier keeping the zombies at bay.

For one long minute, the citizens watched in awe as the zombies, though still snarling and writhing, were unable to approach any closer to the base.

The mont they reached the invisible boundary, they were thrown backward, helpless against the unseen force that repelled them.

“What kind of barrier is this?” a strength-type superhuman murmured, his fists clenched in disbelief.

“I’ve never seen anything like it.” “Boss Su,” Ge Chunli said quietly, though his voice carried over the crowd.

“She’s the one protecting the base.” The citizens exchanged glances.

For the first ti in weeks, the relentless heat and the constant threat of zombie invasion seed distant.

The zombies could no longer reach them, and the eerie silence that followed was almost peaceful.

Then, as quickly as the force had appeared, the 360-degree protective barrier solidified.

The invisible wall vanished from sight, but the sudden rush of zombies that had attempted to charge the gate was slamd backward, held by an impenetrable force that none could see.

“It’s holding,” soone whispered in astonishnt.

For the first ti in days, the citizens dared to feel sothing other than fear.

They had been on the edge of despair, but now, as they looked at each other in stunned silence, a flicker of hope began to spread.

Ge Chunli allowed himself a small smile of relief.

Su Jiyai had delivered, and for now, they were safe.

Su Jiyai leaned back in her chair and let out a long sigh of relief.

The situation had been more stressful than she cared to admit, but it had worked out.

The zombies were held back, the base was safe, and the 360-degree protective barrier was in place.

For now, at least.

She tapped a few commands into the system to check on the status of the construction, then dialed Ge Chunli on the communicator.

He picked up imdiately.

“Boss Su?” “Co to my room,” Su Jiyai instructed.

A few minutes later, Ge Chunli arrived, looking tense but alert.

Su Jiyai gestured for him to sit down, but he remained standing, clearly anticipating more orders.

“I want you to inform the citizens,” she began, “that they need to return to their hos and stay inside for the next 24 hours.

No one is allowed outside during that ti.

Tomorrow morning, they can co out for two hours, but they must return imdiately afterward.

Once construction begins, anyone who steps outside during the process will face serious consequences.

Understood?” Ge Chunli blinked, his brow furrowing slightly.

“Serious consequences?

Boss Su, I understand the need for caution, but… the base doesn’t have enough food.

People might be able to stay indoors for a day or two, but beyond that, they’ll be forced to co out in search of supplies.

We don’t have the resources to keep them in their hos for long.” Su Jiyai considered this for a mont, tapping her fingers against the edge of the table.

His concern was valid, but she had a plan in mind.

“Who owns the center of the base?” she asked, leaning forward.

Ge Chunli’s confusion deepened.

“The center?

No one owns it.

It’s a public area, used by everyone.” “Good,” Su Jiyai nodded.

“Can you evacuate the center for the next hour?

I need it cleared completely.” Ge Chunli’s confusion turned to hesitation.

“Of course, Boss Su, but may I ask why?

What are you planning?” “You’ll find out soon enough,” Su Jiyai said, giving him a cryptic smile.

“Just make sure no one’s there, and tell the citizens to stay in their hos until further notice.” Despite his uncertainty, Ge Chunli complied.

He left her room and began relaying her orders to the citizens.

Word spread quickly throughout the base, and while many were puzzled, they followed Ge Chunli’s instructions without complaint.

It wasn’t long before the center of the base was empty, save for the cool breeze still lingering in the air from the protective barrier.

A little while later, Ge Chunli reported back to Su Jiyai.

“The area’s clear, Boss Su.

No one’s there.” “Good,” Su Jiyai replied.

She stood up from her chair, stretching her arms.

“Make sure it stays that way.

Now I’ll handle the rest.” After ensuring the center was free of citizens, Su Jiyai activated the system once again.

“System, confirm that the center of the base is clear of all life forms,” she commanded.

[Scanning… Confird.

No life forms were detected in the designated area.] “Excellent,” Su Jiyai murmured.

She opened the expansion map and placed a supermarket in the center of the city.

[Constructing supermarket… Estimated completion ti: 30 minutes.] Su Jiyai watched the system interface as it detailed the construction progress.

Outside, the center of the base began to shift and transform.

The ground trembled ever so slightly as a large structure started to rise, walls forming from nothing, and shelves appearing inside.

From the outside, the supermarket looked modest—unassuming, even—but inside, it was carefully organized and filled with what the base needed most.

When the construction was finally complete, Su Jiyai walked to the center herself, inspecting the new building.

She entered the supermarket, the automatic doors sliding open with a soft hiss.
