Lin Yi tightly covered his head.

He vaguely rembered that he was fighting alongside his n against a rival gang. Suddenly, there was an explosion, the roar of gunfire, and pain struck him.

His last mory was of staying on a hospital bed. But now, how did he find himself lying in a dark and dusty basent?

Lin Yi’s vision gradually recovered from blindness, and he slowly directed his gaze outside the window.

In the distance, the silhouette of the Eiffel Tower ca into view. Yes, this was still Paris.

But to be precise, this city had already turned into ruins!

There was no sight of the usual traffic jam on the streets, only charred and damaged car wrecks. So residential buildings were either destroyed or burned down.

Most of the structures were barely standing but lifeless, clearly indicating that the destruction was not caused by bombing.

"Who the hell did this?" Lin Yi spat.

He looked around. The room he was in was already in shambles, with equipnt either broken or nowhere to be seen, clearly having been looted.

Lin Yi looked out the window again, only to see a large group of people dragging their heavy steps, walking in a certain direction, their appearances utterly bizarre.

Lin Yi struggled to get up from the hospital bed but nearly fell.

He looked down and was surprised to find himself holding a baseball bat.

Lin Yi smiled bitterly; at this mont, he was completely naked in a foreign land that had just suffered a terrible disaster.

He needed to get out and see what was happening.

Lin Yi opened the door and cautiously peeked out.

Unexpectedly, there weren’t mountains of corpses in the hallway, just a few shocking bloodstains and so fragnts of equipnt with unknown purposes.

After peeking into several other rooms, Lin Yi confird that this hospital had been completely looted.

As he walked along the hallway, he noticed a door that was perfectly intact, secured with a chair, clearly intending to trap sothing inside.

Lin Yi hesitated for a mont but dismissed the thought of exploring what was behind the door, continuing down the hallway.

After all, getting inside would an risking his naked and half-frozen body.

Who could have expected, the door beside him suddenly creaked open slowly.

Lin Yi stood frozen in place, not daring to make a sound.

A "doctor" walked out of the ward.

To be precise, he was a doctor during his lifeti, but now a chunk of flesh was missing from his face, and half of his internal organs were gone.

Seeing the doctor’s horrific appearance, correlated with the group of people dragging their feet on the street and the tragic scene of the city.

Lin Yi finally pieced together all the clues in his mind.

This is the fucking apocalypse!

"Don’t look this way, don’t look this way..." Lin Yi ntally scread, his eyes fixed on the doctor with half his face missing not far away.

The doctor slowly turned his head, his eyes hollow and lifeless, like those of a dead fish.

Lin Yi instantly realized things were not looking good!

Sure enough, upon discovering his prey, the doctor let out a howl and rushed straight towards Lin Yi.

With urgency, as if eager to perform an "operation" on Lin Yi.

"How the hell are you running so fast?!" Lin Yi shouted.

He had assud he would encounter the traditional slow-moving zombies, but this one was exceptionally agile.

In rely a mont, Lin Yi could feel the putrid stench with an acidic bite surging upon him from behind.

You asking for it?

Lin Yi abruptly spun around, twisting his waist and relaxing his hips!

With a "crack", the sound of bones shattering echoed in the hallway.

Lin Yi mustered all his strength, swinging the baseball bat fiercely at the doctor’s head.

The doctor fell to the ground, but Lin Yi felt a rending pain in his palm.

"Co on, stand up! Stand up!" Lin Yi twisted his neck, undisguised fury in his eyes.

Looking at his feet, the zombie doctor trembled as it slowly rose from the ground.

Lin Yi cleverly used gravity and his weight, repeatedly swinging the baseball bat at the doctor’s head.

"Ding!" Suddenly, a strange sound echoed in Lin Yi’s mind.

[Congratulations—you have entered the survival ga! By using the system weapon to kill a zombie, you have reached level 1 and received a random reward!]

Then, another ssage appeared before him:

[Do you wish to claim your reward? Yes/No]

"Yes!" Lin Yi paused and thought to himself.

The ssage disappeared instantly, replaced by a roulette made up of six icons spinning before him.

The icons were a book, a sword, a potion, money, experience points, and a red circle with a slash through it.

"Stop!" Lin Yi shouted.

The roulette gradually slowed down, with the arrow slowly moving towards the red mark.

[Congratulations! You have learned Shelter Skills. This world is dood to be destroyed, but maybe you can survive a while in your Shelter. Enjoy it!]

Shelter Skills?

Before he could react, a loud cracking sound ca from behind.

The next mont, the iron door of the ward behind Lin Yi was blown open with a "bang."

A giant female zombie, over two ters tall and grotesquely terrifying, broke through, followed by about a dozen ordinary female zombies.

Evidently, it was the fierce male scent on Lin Yi that attracted them...

"Escape!" Despite the unbearable soreness, Lin Yi forced himself up, desperately sprinting down the hallway.

"Awoo..." The female zombies let out extrely longing howls.

The leading giant female zombie also growled lowly, its greedy gaze as if ready to devour Lin Yi alive.

While running, Lin Yi encountered all sorts of undead, but each ti he managed to sprint past them before they could react.

Those zombies could only moan in disappointnt, watching helplessly as Lin Yi, bare-bottod, frantically swung his legs in an alternating manner, sprinting down the hallway.

Lin Yi fled through the floors, searching for a way downstairs.

Finally, he saw a glimr of hope and sprinted towards the stairs.

But just then, a filing cabinet suddenly flew over his head and slamd against the wall with a "bang."

It was the giant female zombie!

It kept swinging its arms, hurling objects towards the walls around Lin Yi.

Fortunately, its aim was really terrible.

At this point, only about 3 ters of distance remained between Lin Yi and the stairs.

The female zombies still pursued relentlessly, seemingly on the verge of capturing Lin Yi’s fresh, delicious, naked body with their decaying hands.

"Shelter! Activate the Shelter! Hide in the Shelter!" Lin Yi’s heart raced to the limit.

He gave it his all, thinking of activating the special skill he just gained.

However, whether it was the wrong command or sothing else, no matter how he shouted, nothing changed around him.

The female zombies were close, getting closer!

Lin Yi couldn’t help but glance back; the leading giant female zombie was already within arm’s reach.

It opened its mouth, spewing out a putrid stench, its discolored fangs dripping with nauseating sli.

Behind it was a swarm of female zombies, surging forward, their twisted limbs moving in eerie postures.

Lin Yi could even feel their fetid breath spraying on the back of his neck, the cold and revolting sensation making his hair stand on end.

"Damn it, enter the Shelter!"

At the mont when the female zombies were about to touch him with their sharp nails, Lin Yi finally guessed the correct command.

In an instant, he was transported to a clearing in the woods. Overco by the unbearable pain, he lost consciousness.

Unaware of how much ti passed, when Lin Yi slowly opened his eyes again.

It was already a sunny morning...
