Chapter 519: Chapter 519: Er Gouzi’s Titanium Alloy Dog Eyes
“Boss, how much for this mother lode?” Fang Jueyu picked up the incredibly ugly stone that Er Gouzi had selected earlier.
“This mother lode is 5 million universe coins, young man,” the stall owner grinned widely.
“Selling this piece of worthless rock for 5 million universe coins? Do you think we’re idiots?” Natu showed a trace of annoyance on his face, “Brother Fang! I told you, you won’t find anything good at these small stalls!”
“No worries, I’m just here to see how this ‘Crazy Stone’ works. A re 5 million universe coins isn’t much. If I lose the gamble, then so be it,” Fang Jueyu said, appearing quite generous.
“Brother Fang, even if you’re testing the waters, there’s no need to spend so much on this piece of junk,” Natu seed a bit upset, feeling it was wasting money, “For a stone of this quality, even the gambling houses wouldn’t ask more than 2 million universe coins at most!”
Natu glared at the vendor, “My brother is new here, doesn’t know the ropes, but you can’t fool . Stones like these, picked by others, practically never have Cosmic Crystals. 1 million universe coins tops!”
“Oh my, you’re driving a hard bargain, young master,” the truth was that Natu wasn’t wrong at all. He had indeed bought these stones at a low price from those gambling houses, aiming to scam newcors, selling at a profit.
He’d bought this mother lode for just 500,000 universe coins, and it had been sitting at that gambling house for who knows how many centuries. Anyone with experience could tell it was just a waste stone.
“How about this, I’ll take a loss for 3 million universe coins,” the vendor acted as if it pained him greatly, as if he was suffering a huge loss.
“Brother Fang, let’s go. This guy is just a scamr.” Natu started to pull Fang Jueyu away.
“Hey, wait, 2.5 million, will that work? Any less and I’ll be losing money!”
Natu gave him a cold stare, 2.5 million, and no doubt the vendor could still fill his pockets. Although he knew Fang Jueyu wasn’t short of money, letting a scamr profit always felt unpleasant.
“1.5 million universe coins, or we walk.”
“Natu must have honed his bargaining skills on Earth,” Fang Jueyu secretly laughed. It reminded him so much of when he and Cao Lan used to haggle at the vegetable market.
“Alright, alright.” The vendor saw that while Fang Jueyu seed naive, the chubby guy was clearly experienced, so he decided to take what he could get.
Fang Jueyu paid the money and took the bumpy stone. As expected, the stone was incredibly sturdy. Even with his strength, which could easily bend steel, not a single chip fell off the stone.
He tried to penetrate the stone with his spiritual power, but the structure was incredibly dense, and it felt as though a mysterious force was blocking him.
“This thing is really sothing.”
“That’s the ga of gambling. Heaven on one side, hell on the other. No one knows how many have lost their fortunes in these gambling houses, and many people dedicate their lives to it every year.”
“That’s too real.” On Earth, when people faced such situations, they typically just jumped off buildings. These Martial Artists had such resilient bodies that normal thods couldn’t even allow them to commit suicide.
“Where can we get this stone cut?”
“Oh, there are free machines around those large gambling houses, plenty of them. Just find one,” seeing Fang Jueyu so eager, Natu didn’t have the heart to dampen his spirits. As for the 1.5 million universe coins, it was 100% a loss.
On this planet, large gambling houses were everywhere. Open concepts, though not as ticulous as big companies, they were incredibly lavish nonetheless, with all sorts of facilities, and nearby places to eat and stay.
However, hotels here were a hundred tis more expensive than on other planets. But considering transactions of millions or tens of millions of universe coins were normal here, this amount of money ant little to most gamblers.
Each gambling house was crowded, and almost every rock cutter was surrounded by a group of gamblers. Fang Jueyu chose a gambling house called “Rey Stone Square,” which seed to be the largest in the area.
“Ugh! Nothing again!” A well-dressed Martial Artist shook his head, sighing, as he stepped away from a machine. His aura nearly reached the fifth level of Divine Ability User.
The machine only left crushed stone fragnts, probably having ground the whole stone to dust without finding anything valuable.
“What garbage, this is the twelfth stone today. Did ‘Rey Stone Square’ tamper with sothing?” The Martial Artist cursed as he walked away.
“Who’s accusing us of tampering?” A deep, resonant voice suddenly echoed across the square. From “Rey Stone Square” erged a middle-aged man, dressed lavishly and exuding an inscrutable aura.
“Host, this guy is at least a seventh-level Controller!” Xiaoyi quietly inford.
“Wow, even a Controller is here. Is he the owner of this gambling house?” Fang Jueyu instinctively stepped back, feeling imnse pressure from such a person.
“Mr. Reyno, I’m sorry, I spoke without thinking, I apologize,” the Martial Artist imdiately turned into a coward upon seeing him.
“Hmph, get lost,” the middle-aged man snorted coldly, “Rey Stone Square has been operating for hundreds of thousands of years not by empty reputation. Every stone is shelved directly from import without any tampering.”
“Yes, Mr. Reyno, with your reputation, we naturally believe it,” a group of gamblers smiled ingratiatingly.
Reyno took a stroll outside and then returned to the stone house.
“Natu, do you know this guy?”
“Reyno Clai, the current Clan Leader of a big family in the Stone Square World. Their family has a secret technique passed down, allowing them to gauge whether a Cosmic Crystal is inside a raw stone, very impressive.”
“Pupil Skill?”
“You know about the Pupil Skill?” Reyno looked surprised, “Seems you’ve done your howork in these recent days. Yes, word is that their family’s Pupil Skill is at the second tier. Although their civilization is only third-level, their family’s wealth is comparable to a fourth-level civilization, thanks to the Pupil Skill.”
“Well, never mind that. Let’s see what treasures are inside my stone.” Fang Jueyu headed toward a machine.
The machine’s principle was simple: it ground away the outer shell with extrely tough material. Once it detected the presence of a Cosmic Crystal, it would stop automatically.
“Brother Fang, just saying, this rock really doesn’t look like a money-maker. Best not to get your hopes up.”
“Haha, no problem, I trust my luck,” Fang Jueyu replied, wondering if Er Gouzi’s choice would surprise him.
“Hahaha, bringing a waste rock like that to cut? It’s probably worth only a million universe coins! Young man, you got scamd!”
“Who says that, I bet it might reveal a Cosmic Crystal?”
“I think so too, hahaha, cut it, cut it!”
The gamblers’ tones were filled with mockery. If this junk stone could reveal a Cosmic Crystal, then their past losses were pointless.
For these gamblers, they preferred seeing others lose money. Perhaps it slightly balanced their own sense of loss.
“As you wish,” Fang Jueyu smiled slightly, placing the stone on the machine. As the grinding device activated, fragnts slowly drifted down.
“Hahaha, as expected, nothing.”
“Naive is as naive does. If 100 million universe coin stones made profit that easy, anyone could get rich.”
“Consider it paying for a lesson, don’t be cheap next ti.”
Suddenly, a pure white light erged from what was left of the stone, reduced to a re thumbnail size. The surrounding mocking voices abruptly stopped.
“How’s it possible! A Cosmic Crystal really ca out?”
“Fake, right? From that junk stone…”
“Er Gouzi, you’re sothing else!” Fang Jueyu was just trying his luck and didn’t expect Er Gouzi to have such skills.
“Woof!” Er Gouzi licked Fang Jueyu’s face, as if asking for praise.
Suddenly, Fang Jueyu rembered when Er Gouzi fought, his eyes shot out purple light. Those eyes were definitely unique, could they have Pupil Skill capability?
“From today, let’s na your eyes: 24K Titanium Alloy Dog Eyes!”
