Chapter 875: Chapter 405 Security Guard, “Ashes,” “Annihilation”_2

“I said…” the Security Guard spoke slowly, his deep voice rolling like thunder, “『Do・Not・Move』!”

As those three words fell, Lin Yi felt his eardrums swell, as if he could hear sothing not belonging to human language within them. Imdiately, the Sneering Angels, which had been clawing and howling in the Phantom, froze wholly within the “Ashes,” unable to move an inch.

They were frozen abruptly, like a tape being played that soone had suddenly paused.

Then, the Security Guard slowly extended his hand into the seemingly intangible screen of light, gripping the throat of a Sneering Angel, as if yanking it out from within—a farr hauling a goose by the neck.

Lin Yi’s eyes widened in disbelief. He simply could not fathom how the Security Guard had accomplished this. When he faced the Sneering Angels, it had been like trying to catch the moon reflected on water, but it was as though the Security Guard had truly pulled the moon out.

It was as if he had mocked the Layers.

The female Dormitory Supervisor stared in shock at the spectacle, not only because a massive amount of Ashes beyond her understanding had erged from Lin Yi’s body, nor just because of the countless Sneering Angel silhouettes that surfaced within those Ashes, but especially due to the Security Guard’s godlike mastery of “capture” techniques.

Lin Yi’s mind replayed the entire process of his escape from the Art Building; no matter how much he thought about it, he couldn’t pinpoint where things had gone wrong.

Indeed, he had been relentlessly hunted by nurous Sneering Angels, yet hadn’t he lured all of them into the “Obsession Sculpture Corridor” to kill them?

How could there still be so many?

“Could it have happened during the process of moving from the Art Building Hall to the Watchtower?”

But back then, he rembered encountering Alien Angels—or entities he perceived as Alien Angels—and being attacked. Could these beings have brought along the Sneering Angels?

Yet afterward, hadn’t all the Sneering Angels rely lingered around him without attacking?

Could it be…

“Could it be… those Sneering Angels that hovered around weren’t refraining from attacking because they didn’t want to, but because… I was already ‘full,’ wasn’t I?!”

He was like a container filled to the brim with Sneering Angels, leaving no room for more within his body?!

“Filled to the brim.”

“Damn…” Realizing this sent a chill down Lin Yi’s spine, his entire body shuddering uncontrollably.

And now, the Security Guard’s actions were akin to a fisherman hauling his “net” out of the water, preparing to clean out all the fish in one swoop, weren’t they?

But with so many Sneering Angels, how long would it take the Security Guard to capture them one by one?

Just as this question ford in Lin Yi’s mind, the Security Guard seed to sense his doubts and responded as if reading his mind.

The steely contours of his face moved subtly, a toothy grin erging from the scruffy beard, though to Lin Yi, it looked more like a sinister smirk.

No, it wasn’t a smirk; it was a grimace-like expression as he chanted so ancient maxim.

The sound was obscure, lengthy, and remarkably similar to a Caution—perhaps it was a Caution, or perhaps another language altogether.

Lin Yi considered that this might be so technique from Verbalis Magica.

As the chant unfolded, the Security Guard’s eyes began to radiate a dazzling Golden Light, like two blazing suns. Lin Yi felt that it resembled the Evil Spirit Knight’s Eye of Judgnt. Even without eting his gaze, Lin Yi’s soul already felt on the verge of being scorched.

He averted his gaze slightly yet remained curious about the Security Guard’s thods.

The immobilized Sneering Angels howled in agony under the pressure of the chant, struggling but unable to resist.

And then, as if the Sneering Angel gripped by the Security Guard was a fulcrum, an overwhelming force surged through the Layers, directly affecting all the Sneering Angels.

The scene resembled the selection of a squad with a special key in a ga like Warcraft, the command applied across the entire unit simultaneously.

Finally, the Security Guard released the Sneering Angel’s throat, his massive hand now clutching at the air.

In that mont, his palm flickered faintly with a glowing Secret Mark. Within monts, an endless azure aura surged forth, intertwining to form a massive club-shaped weapon.

As the club took shape, golden aura once again enveloped it, like an Enchantnt.

When the golden aura surged over the club, its surface erupted with spikes, transforming it into a spiked Wolf Fang Club.

This was the very Wolf Fang Club Lin Yi had seen on the Security Guard’s first night at the school—not just a club, but *the* Wolf Fang Club.

The Security Guard gripped the club’s handle, focusing his strength, and swung it down upon the crowd of Sneering Angels.

At that instant, the once lengthy and cryptic chant concluded with two words Lin Yi could finally comprehend:

“『Annihilation』!”

As the Security Guard swung his Wolf Fang Club, it felt as though he wielded the force of an entire world.

“Boom, boom, boom…”

The Wolf Fang Club swept across, its familiar sound and rhythm resonating through the rows of Sneering Angels as though cleansing an entire swarm of Nocturnal species.

Perhaps, in this mont, Angel Sculptures and Nocturnal species held no distinction in the Security Guard’s eyes… Lin Yi thought to himself.

The Sneering Angels, utterly defenseless, were annihilated en masse, their remains staining the Wolf Fang Club with a mixture of white powder and tomato-sauce-like substance…

Lin Yi’s pupils contracted sharply as he watched.

He recalled with absolute clarity that on May 6th, the day he enrolled, when he first t the Security Guard, the Wolf Fang Club had been marked by the sa strange substances!

He had assud it had been from defeating Nocturnal species, but now it beca clear… back then, what he had defeated wasn’t Nocturnal species at all but rather either Sneering Angels—or Angel Sculptures?!

Lin Yi shuddered instinctively. In other words, on the night of his enrollnt, had the Sneering Angels already set their sights on him and his cohort?!

Co to think of it… Zealots have never been so afraid of light; why, then, had the enigmatic Art female teacher kept her distance?

Was it truly just her fear of light?

Or was there so hidden truth?

Moreover, the motive of the Zealots didn’t seem to be pure slaughter—they seed more intent on recruiting others into their so-called “Glorious Evolution.”

If the enigmatic Art female teacher’s intent from the start was not to kill them…

The only reason she could have retreated must have been the arrival of a threatening force!

Nocturnal species?

Nocturnal species posed no real threat to her; it could only have been Angel Sculptures!

All variations of Angel Sculptures shared the sa desire—to devour them!

In this mont, Lin Yi’s mind erupted like a mushroom cloud as certain logic ca full circle, his thoughts suddenly aligned.

After annihilating the Sneering Angels, the Security Guard stopped, showing no intention of eliminating the Ashes within Lin Yi.

When the Security Guard withdrew, the Ashes settled like dust back into Lin Yi, rging into his body.

At the sa ti, Lin Yi felt the invisible force that had bound him dissipate…

“The Security Guard didn’t eliminate my ‘Ashes’? Why?” Lin Yi was utterly bewildered.

At that mont, the Security Guard looked down at him, the blazing golden radiance in his eyes dimming until only keen Golden Eyes remained, without the invasive soul-searing intensity.

The Security Guard remained silent for a long ti, saying nothing.

Behind him, a few of the black-aproned Pocket Chefs began whispering among themselves, though Lin Yi couldn’t discern their words.

Taking a deep breath, the female Dormitory Supervisor, like a bellows filling with air, summoned her courage and called out: “Um… Security Guard…”

At her words, the Security Guard looked down at the female Dormitory Supervisor, who barely ca up to half his height. His gaze swept briefly over the old kerosene lamp in her hands as he waited for her to continue.

“Um… according to the ‘Dormitory Manager’s Rules,’ I hereby request that you strip of my Dormitory Supervisor identity.” The female Dormitory Supervisor enunciated each word slowly.
