The trees by the roadside, their trunks twisted like braided dough, their branches stretching out at odd angles, seed to be struggling to escape this warped world.

The colors of the entire scene beca chaotic, the once-clear boundaries of colors disappeared, with different hues perating and blending into a bizarre sea of colors.

In this distorted image, it was impossible to discern where the sky was or the earth; everything fell into a state of chaotic madness, as if it was a scene extracted from a surreal dream, chilling to behold yet impossible to look away from.

All of this was imprinted on the dim "sky" in a decayed manner, forming a huge picture, as if sared with glue.

What was most eerie, though, was that Lin Yi could clearly perceive the movent of figures inside each building in the two-dinsional image...

The "banquet" was set in the afternoon, with a hazy rain enveloping the campus, turning the whole world into sothing wrapped in a dirty rag, imrsed continuously into a large basin of dishwater for washing.

With just a glance, Lin Yi felt his mind beco drowsy, as if he were sinking into a dream within a dream...

He seed to hear so calls intermittently coming from the campus outside the do, familiar calls that made it difficult for him to discern whether they ca from the broken statue, the graveyard of the deceased, or so familiar yet unfamiliar unit...

He felt the calls in the two-dinsional layer growing stronger and soon transford into a deathly summons...

"Wait! This seems to be...?!"

A force of unknown origin seed to tug violently at Lin Yi’s heart. This voice, it wasn’t from the broken statue, nor from the graveyard of the deceased, but from—the "Primordial Ash Apostle"!

In the two-dinsional world, space was warped and fluctuating, with the "Primordial Ash Apostle" drifting like a lost soul.

From Lin Yi’s perspective, the "Primordial Ash Apostle" seed like a collection of bubbles blown from a child’s bubble gun, it XXX

Lin Yi didn’t know how the world looked through the "Primordial Ash Apostle’s" eyes — was it bidinsional? Or four-dinsional?

It certainly wouldn’t be three-dinsional.

The "Primordial Ash Apostle" wandered aimlessly, as if searching for sothing, but after a while, it suddenly disappeared, no matter how Lin Yi searched, he couldn’t find it.

Then suddenly, Lin Yi’s scalp went numb as if being clawed!

He jolted and looked back!

The "Primordial Ash Apostle" was right there, not too far, not too close, maintaining a significant distance from him!

It repeated these words, seemingly trying to express sothing, but Lin Yi felt his scalp tingling, an intense feeling of being targeted by the void descended upon him, leaving him clueless about what to do.

This was the first ti in a dream he had been locked onto so purely by another existence; unlike the suspicious security guard or the boss earlier, the "Primordial Ash Apostle" appeared directly behind him!

Escape?

He considered this thought, but if he escaped now, would he be able to return to Maozi’s perspective later?

As he hesitated, his past self "astral projected," with his will turning into a streak of golden light floating above the gymnasium, then began imprinting the layer of the gymnasium’s giant do...

The "Primordial Ash Apostle," as if sensing sothing, no longer approached Lin Yi but "looked" towards the will of "his past self".

Lin Yi faintly felt the "Primordial Ash Apostle’s" perception scanning between himself and his past will back and forth...

It was unsure how much ti had passed when the past Lin Yi’s will flickered lightly, showing a trend of returning to his body.

At that mont, the "Primordial Ash Apostle" suddenly moved.

It rippled slightly, with one of its bubbles touching the will of the past Lin Yi.

In that instant, the will of the past Lin Yi and his current self trembled violently, a "boom" resounded in his mind, like thunder cracking the night sky, and simultaneously, scenes flashed before his eyes.

Collapsed city walls, a shattered city, black tides surging over the walls, and quickly devouring everything in the rear...

Sports students and experience students were engulfed by the waves, under the black sky and tide, the boss and physical education teachers gripping the old kerosene lamp’s handles tightly, yet powerlessly sank to the seabed...

In an instant, the flashback disappeared, and Lin Yi’s vision returned to normal.

"What was that just now?!"

Lin Yi stared wide-eyed, his eyes filled with disbelief.

"The phantom vision from the afternoon of May 9th... appeared before him again?"

"No! It’s not ’again’! It’s... I simultaneously saw that picture!"

"It’s the ’Primordial Ash Apostle’! It transmitted a future segnt into the consciousness of my May 9th self?!"

"Boom——!!"

A huge thunder roared continuously in Lin Yi’s mind, and at one mont, he considered an absurd yet possibly conceivable scenario!

"Could that ’Primordial Ash Apostle’ not be the principal, but... an ’I’ from so future point?!"

Tian Bufan wanted him to guide Maozi to the Contractor’s bedroom or the observatory through tonight’s dream, wouldn’t that be influencing the past?

Is it possible that his future self is also using dreams to retrospectively influence the past, trying to change sothing?!"

For instance... change everything that’s already collapsed in the future!

But, if that’s the case, according to the law of "established occurrences cannot be altered," even with guidance, the future won’t change!

Wait a minute... does that an... no matter what he does now, the scenes in the phantom vision are an inevitable future?"

Lin Yi felt his head swell painfully.

Firstly, because the ’Primordial Ash Apostle’ might be his future self;

Secondly, because those scenes from the phantom vision are likely pre-determined futures yet to occur...

Wait!

Yet the ’Primordial Ash Apostle’ seed to have also conveyed a ssage—[I, "Principal", speak to the Grey Mist World.]

"Could it be that I found the principal’s notebook, then beca the ’Principal’... but even on that path, couldn’t change the campus’s collapsing future, so within infinite dreams, returned to the past trying to reverse the future?"

"But... there still seem to be many inexplicable gaps! Many logically unsolvable points!"

"What is going on here?"

"If so, rely repairing the city walls might not be enough to prevent the campus’s collapse?"

"Could there be other clues?"

"Damn... damn it! So complex, simply no clue at all!"

"Damn it!!!"

"Again, the sound of the ’Primordial Ash Apostle’ began echoing in Lin Yi’s ears, and this ti, he tried to listen patiently, yet no matter how he listened, he only heard so familiar phrases.

The ’Primordial Ash Apostle’ slowly disappeared...

Lin Yi’s will floated at the do, silently watching the city walls being repaired, saying nothing.

"’Compass’...’Lost’..."

"Young Master Tian said not to get lost in the dream... Old Mo also seed to say that the passage of ti is not perceptible in dream building, easy to get lost..."

"Compass... could it an... the ti compass ’Ti Zero’?"
