Volu 3: High School Arc - Mirror Ga
I stepped back step by step, but my gaze never left that monster...
That thing wasn’t human, but what exactly it was, I still didn’t know\...
Perhaps their very existence was sothing beyond human comprehension.
As I moved, the distance between us increased, and at this mont... I had reached the living room, while those pale eyes peeking through the paper bag kept staring at .
It stared at while turning around, then... walked into the kitchen.
Was it... safe for now?
As I secretly breathed a sigh of relief, my thoughts spun wildly—what exactly had happened?
Why hadn’t sothing like this been triggered outside, but was triggered in this small room instead?
What was the difference between these two locations?
Could it be...
The bra?
Ugh, damn it!
Even if the monster was perverted, it wouldn’t change its rules just because of a bra, right?
Was it hopeless that this was the first thing I thought of?
Think... think fast!
Why!
Why didn’t this ‘reversal’ situation happen out on the street?
What’s the difference between now and that mont on the street?
No, no, maybe the difference isn’t ?
I froze slightly, then suddenly rembered sothing.
I... didn’t do anything else, I just opened the door and walked into another place.
Which ant... it wasn’t sothing special about , but rather... my location changed?
But what does a change in location have to do with front and back reversing?
Location?
Location... mirror?!
“Angle!!!”
Suddenly I thought of a possibility—it’s... the mirror’s angle?
Of course, it’s impossible to fully follow the rules of the real world.
This wasn’t the real world but they could be referenced to so extent.
So... if I considered myself as a point and observed the surroundings, then could it be that everything around ... was just the reflection of mirrors?
A two-dinsional mirror influence, turned into sothing detached?
If... if my point remained unchanged, but the environnt around changed, then could it be considered that the angle of the mirrors changed, and thus in the Mirror World, such reversals would occur?
What I was in wasn’t a flat mirror, but a three-dinsional mirror!!!
Therefore, as I moved and my position changed, the angle of reflection also changed, and that’s why... such reversals occurred?
But I knew absolutely nothing about the mirror world, so there was no way I could understand my own angle, let alone comprehend what this distorted three-dinsional mirror world felt like.
I simply couldn’t determine the mirror’s angle or my own position, and thus I had no way to tell what was reversed!!
Just like how humans can’t truly perceive higher-dinsional worlds, I also couldn’t find any rules within this Mirror World!
What kind of absurd difficulty level is this!!!
A reflection within a reflection... what exactly was that!?
This hint... what was it trying to tell ?
A mirror inside a mirror?
No, if that was really it, then the hint would be too simple—it wouldn’t fit the pattern of how the ga gives clues.
But if the ga was deliberately misleading , then maybe... but right now I didn’t have a single clue!!
‘Ka! Ka!’
The sound of chopping on the cutting board ca again from the kitchen.
I didn’t even need to look to imagine the scene of that corpse being chopped and minced into flesh!
Why did this guy want to eat?
A reason?
A result?
Or just sothing done for no reason at all?
No, I really couldn’t think of any relevant information.
What was the function of a mirror?
To reflect light?
Front and back reversal—if I took the chance to escape now and opened the front door, what would I see?
The street?
Or another space?
If I returned to the street... I’d encounter countless monsters.
But if opening the door led to another space, then I’d face another shift in the mirror world’s angles.
What would it change into then?
What kind of mirrored monster would I et?
Leaving... was dangerous.
Not leaving... was just as dangerous!!
This—this was simply driving to despair!!!
At that mont, my brain felt like it was going to explode.
I instinctively shifted my gaze, trying to relieve my anxiety by looking at other things.
This was just an ordinary room, the kind that truly looked like soone lived in it, fully furnished with every piece of decor.
There was even a color TV hanging on the living room wall.
But the room lacked any sense of human presence.
There was no dust on the floor, no signs of use in the corners.
Ceiling, floor, furniture, tables and chairs—everything visible was nearly pitch black.
If it weren’t for the difference in angles and my enhanced vision, which now allowed to distinguish finer color details, I probably wouldn’t have been able to tell any of these objects apart.
Under the dim light, I could barely make out the environnt through the faint reflections.
I didn’t know why the light in this world was so weak.
Whether it was the street earlier or this room now, the light... was nearly imperceptible.
Why?
Was it due to the refraction of mirrors?
So in the mirror, you could hardly see any light?
My head was filled with questions.
Where did the faint glow around even co from?
I couldn’t see it.
The light here didn’t seem to co from any direction—it just existed, making it impossible to locate a light source.
I was already growing used to this strange environnt.
Though I was curious about why it was like this, I definitely didn’t want to live here.
After all... the guy in the kitchen right now was terrifying.
What on earth did it want to eat?
Scanning my surroundings... huh?
I hadn’t noticed earlier—there was a window over there?
Wait, was that a fish tank in the room?
If not for the familiar shape, I would’ve thought it was a wardrobe at first glance, because the glass on this fish tank had no reflection at all.
Could things in the mirror not reflect images?
Wait a second... why did things in the mirror world have no reflections?
Shouldn’t mirrors, by nature, reflect?
Mirrors...
No, I just couldn’t think anymore.
I looked at the fish tank suspiciously, and sure enough, there was no sound of water.
Not surprising.
Would a bunch of monsters seriously keep pet fish?
No, no, this wasn’t what I should be thinking about right now.
I should be figuring out how to get out!
Forget the monster for now—at least it didn’t seem like it would hurt before the al.
This was my rare mont of reprieve.
I had to think... how could I escape?
Mirror world.
Mirror... mirrors in the mirror world don’t reflect?
What was the reason?
In confusion, I walked up to the fish tank.
Normally, glass fish tanks would reflect so sort of human silhouette, however faint.
But... this one seed dyed completely black, unable to reflect even a trace of light.
