The next day ca, and tensions were high, as the chosen one—the hero chosen by Lumis—was about to be taken to the headmistress’s office.

Riven got ready and dressed in his uniform, along with all the top ten of the class, had to be present.

He walked out of his room and down to the sitting room where the others were already gathered. They looked at him when he ca in, a mix of emotions all over the place.

"Lance is already on his way to her office. Instructor Quin already ca and took him," Robert said.

"So are we heading there now?" Riven asked.

"Not yet. We have to know what we’re going to do when we get there. We will most definitely have the chance to speak, and when that ti cos, are we going to throw him to the dogs, or are we going to stand for him sohow?" Robert said.

Everyone pinned their eyes on Riven, wanting to hear what he had to say. Riven felt the eyes on him—it was a lot of pressure—but he had co so far to beco soone they could actually respect, so he was going to rise to the occasion.

"Lance is our classmate and the second-ranked person in the first year. His actions were downright bad, and there is nothing that I can say to make them see a sliver of light in what he did.

But if today we let the case go as they want, Lance will surely be taken into custody. And as the one who is chosen by Lumis, the kingdom will most definitely force him to train, turning him into a weapon.

Inasmuch as I do not like Lance, he is still worth so redemption—at least, I think he is. So I’ll take responsibility for Lance from now on, if the academy allows it, and if he goes wrong, I’ll be the one to end him," Riven said.

All of them were quiet when they heard what he had to say. They didn’t think Riven would actually say sothing like this.

"Hmmm, forgiving that asshole is a lot to do honestly, but I believe our real enemies are the second-years who tried to use him to take us down," Jack said. He balled his fists. "Since those assholes want a war, then let’s give it to them.

As for Lance, I want you to make this clear to him: he either stays out of our way entirely, or joins us. If he tries to stand against us, there will be no rcy at the end," Jack said, the fury in his eyes burning bright.

"It goes without saying—we might manage to get Lance to stay in the academy, but he remains a threat to us all. And until he proves otherwise, my blade will be on his neck," Riven said, making sure his words were clear.

’Lance still remains the hero. His blessing allows him to attack the Demon Lord and actually deal damage—he was the only one that could do that in the entire story.

He is still needed. If this world is going to survive, they need Lance. But this was the last straw. I’ll have to keep my words and be the one that takes him down if he goes out of line again,’ Riven thought.

Since they had finally decided on what they would be saying, they headed into the academy and toward the headmistress’s office.

Standing outside the door, Riven knocked.

"Co in," Elena responded. Riven pushed the door open and walked in, followed by the rest. The mont they stepped in, they saw Lance, head bowed and in an engraved tal cuff.

He didn’t even look up when they all walked in. They could tell that he had already been through a lot the last few days—his spirit was near broken.

But no one could really have any pity for him, as he brought this on himself.

Quin was inside the room as well, his back leaned against the wall beside Lance. He watched as Riven and the rest walked in.

"Seems everyone is here now," he said.

"Indeed. We will start now," Elena said. She locked her fingers together and rested her head on her fist.

"Today, all of you are here because one of your own decided to attack his fellow students and try to kill them during a ti of crisis.

Rather than fight like everyone else did, he focused on causing more damage during such a bad situation. Honestly, I was shocked at the situation," Elena said, her gaze dropping.

"This case was sothing the king and even the Senate wanted to handle themselves, and give the proper punishnt that he deserved.

But after much persuasion from our side, we managed to make sure that we would handle the case here.

His cris are many, and honestly, they are all worth expulsion—and that’s what is on the table now: the expulsion of Lance.

The issue is complicated, as he is the one chosen by Lumis. But despite that, it would be unjust to overlook what he did. Besides attacking all of you, he laid hands on the Crown Prince of Vermilion.

Everything that he has done is worthy of death. Expulsion is honestly rcy to him. The Church is willing to take him in and train him rightly under the way of Lumis, so I want to know what you all think about that," Elena said.

’The Church? Those assholes simply want to control the greatest weapon in the kingdom. They’ll turn Lance into nothing but a puppet in a few years. Sending him there is simply wrong on any level, even after what he did,’ Riven thought.

"Please, I have sothing to say about Lance and the current situation," Riven spoke. Elena and Quin paid attention, looking at him and waiting to see what he had to say.

"In my honest opinion, Lance is worthy of death," Riven said, sending a shockwave through the room.
