Robert left after speaking to Riven. Riven swallowed hard, gathering himself. After all, he was a teen.
’Wait, Liana is only a year older than , aning she is going to be fifteen, what fifteen year old noble knows how to cook?
I guess she isn’t all arrogance and smugness.’ He thought before pushing the door and walking in. His footsteps sounded inside the kitchen and imdiately pulled her attention.
She turned, wanting to see who walked in. Her eyes t with his for a brief mont before she looked away.
"You ca." She said.
"Why wouldn’t I? There’s food, and you offered it to , for sure I’ll co." Riven said. He took a seat near the island table at the center of the kitchen.
"Hey, Liana." He called out.
She was busy laying out the plate when he called, she stopped and looked at him, "What’s it?" She asked.
’I feel I have dragged this entire engagent thing so long that it’s beco stupid and now I want to ask if you want to call it off and let’s go our separate ways.
But now that I look at you, I can’t say that, I don’t want to lose you, you might not know it, but you beca important to in your own way.’ Riven thought.
"Thank you for doing this, I really appreciate." He said with a smile. She stared at him a few seconds, as if that wasn’t what she was expecting. A small blush ford on her face, she looked away quickly.
"It’s nothing, it’s just food." She said. She served the food in a rush. She had made a at stew along with so steak and bread.
Riven didn’t waste a single mont, he dug right in, the food lted on his tongue, and the flavors went wild.
He closed his eyes, savoring the taste. When he opened his eyes, he saw her seated beside him, watching him closely.
"Do you like it?" She asked.
He was stunned by how close she was, but moving back would be rude now. He nodded twice, "It’s really good, it’s almost hard to believe you could make sothing like this, you have more talents than I thought." Riven complinted.
He kept eating, not noticing that Liana had beco red as a tomato. She fought with herself to stop blushing, and when she did, she finally spoke.
"You recall when I said I’ll tell you when I fully acknowledge you?" She asked.
"Yhup." He said, still facing the food.
"Well, I do now. I know it’s crazy that you had to risk your life and also save for to finally see that what I thought about you was entirely wrong.
It makes seem shallow and a bad judge of character." She said.
"You aren’t a bad judge of character, don’t beat yourself over it." Riven said. He dropped the spoon and looked at her.
"Even wouldn’t want anything to do with who I was before. You are the daughter of a duke, pride runs in your veins, you carry your head high, and you shouldn’t be with a low-life nobody that looks for trouble.
I’m glad that you finally see as soone that is actually worth your acknowledgnt. Honestly, I don’t care if you ca to see in better light after I fixed myself.
I also didn’t fix myself because I wanted you to see in better light, but that’s a story that’s not for now. Let’s not bother ourselves with the technicalities of what’s right and wrong.
We are still kids after all, mistakes are very much allowed at this stage." Riven said.
She smiled when she heard everything he said, in all the long paragraphs he spoke, he managed to put her mind at ease, because he didn’t hate her for despising him before.
"If that’s the case, let’s start over. I’m Liana, your fiancée, and I want to be your friend, let’s rise to the top of the academy and beyond together." She said and stretched out her hand for a handshake.
Riven looked at her hand, he stretched out his and shook her hand. "And I’m Riven, your fiancé I guess, let’s get along from now on." He said.
They stared into each other’s eyes for a few seconds, and then suddenly burst into laughter.
"Hahahahahahahaha." They both laughed from their stomachs.
"Honestly, I can’t believe you said sothing so cheesy." Riven said.
"Look at who’s talking, you said ’your fiancé I guess’, what’s that even supposed to be?" She asked, still laughing.
They shared a laugh for a few minutes, and after that shared a al, while still laughing and chuckling at different tis.
When they were done, Riven assisted her in cleaning all the dishes and keeping them carefully. After they bid their goodbye, Riven returned to his room, and she went to hers.
Riven walked in and closed the door, he leaned against the door and slid down to the ground, ’This is the first ti I’ve been with a girl and actually been happy. Even if we don’t marry in future, Liana, you’ll be a special person to .’ Riven thought.
Liana on the other hand was inside her room, head buried into a pillow, thinking about all the disgracing yet cute monts that they had in the kitchen.
She kicked her feet the more she thought about it, tossing around the bed. She finally stopped, pushed the pillow down a little, and she stared at the ceiling.
"I know he saved and all, but is it normal to feel this way just because I ate with him? I really don’t understand why I’m feeling this way, I’m eager, eager to see him again.
That no-good trash, I’m actually eager to see him?"
Her face was flushed red the more she thought about it, she kicked her leg a few more tis before forcing herself to stop thinking about it.
As the night peacefully passed with good changes happening, sothing dark and evil was already lurking, sothing they wouldn’t expect.
