Riven charged in. This was his opening—his opportunity to stop Lance. Inside his domain, every fla attack would hit harder, so he wanted to take advantage of that and finish this.
Lance, on the other hand, saw a mad monster rushing toward him, and despite the fact that the heat was trying to stop him, he knew he had to push forward.
"Arrrghhhhhhh!" he yelled from the bottom of his guts and charged toward Riven. His sword shined with holy light, and for a brief mont, bright angel-like wings shined behind him.
Riven didn’t wait for Lance to get close and used Fla Blast, pouring as much mana as he could into the attack. Due to the domain, the effect was imdiately doubled. The Fla Blast traveled toward Lance.
Lance slashed down with all his strength. His sword collided with the Fla Blast.
"Arghhhhhh!" he yelled, pushing down with all his strength. He finally managed to cut through the Fla Blast.
But during that ti, Riven had already closed the distance and was coming with a slash from above. Lance looked up. He blocked at the last mont, stopping the attack.
His feet skidded backward until he managed to find his footing and started pushing back, but Riven wasn’t having any of that. His sword exploded with flas, their searing heat added to the one that Lance was already feeling.
He retreated quickly, getting away from the flas and allowing Riven to use Fla Arc to attack in quick succession. Lance still managed to block them all, but he was getting out of breath.
Huffing and puffing very hard, he gripped his sword and lifted his head, staring at the ceiling. Riven looked at him, wondering if he had given up.
But in the next mont, Lance opened his mouth and called sothing. When the words reached Riven’s ears, his eyes widened in shock and fear.
"Amaterasu!" Lance called, and a mighty beam of light shot from the roof, bathing Lance in light.
Amaterasu—the call of a god—a skill Lance got during the first event. His mightiest skill, one that had been his strongest for many years.
As the bright lights finished bathing Lance, what stood there was no longer Lance but a fifteen-foot-tall shining warrior, covered in Japanese-style armor and holding a katana.
It was the embodint of the sun in a person. They all looked in shock and wonder when they saw it. The presence of Amaterasu completely destroyed the Inferno Domain that Riven set up.
Riven turned around. He looked at the others and scread.
"Run! We have to get out of here!" he scread from the bottom of his lungs. The fear in his eyes was real—never in his wildest dreams did he think that Lance would have awakened Amaterasu.
When they heard his yelling, they knew it had gone bad, but before they could move, Lance slashed. His sword emitted a light arc. They couldn’t dodge it. They couldn’t block it. It slamd into all of them, slamming them against the wall.
They coughed out blood and fell to the ground. No one was excepted. Their bodies felt like a hot pile of ss.
[The one loved by chaos has been activated.]
The ssage finally ca. Riven had already known from the beginning that this title was the reason for things going bad, but it waited till now to show its face.
Riven struggled to look up, and he saw Lance walking toward Liana. She had landed closer, and so he wanted to finish her off.
She struggled to get back up when she noticed the massive god in front of her, but her body could barely keep her standing. She gripped her sword, but her hands trembled.
Blood leaked out of her mouth continuously, but she didn’t back down even in the face of these impossible odds.
’She might be a pain in the ass, but she is one with a strong heart,’ Riven thought. He bit his lips and decided to activate his twenty seconds.
He blasted off the ground right before Lance attacked Liana. The sword was just about to hit her.
CLANG.
The swords clashed, and a massive sound echoed through the dungeon. Twilight glowed, like the stars in the night, and for so reason, Riven’s eyes glowed deep blue as well.
His sword was coated with flas, and they turned into a dark blue fla—one that he had never seen before.
[You have awakened the first seal of the Spirit of Twilight.]
[You have gained the Flas of Night.]
[Fla of Night: Cold flas that destroy both body and soul.]
Riven couldn’t help but smile when he saw the ssages. He couldn’t tell exactly what was happening, but what he knew was that he got stronger.
He looked back at Liana. "You have held up just fine. Let take it from here. Rest," he said and pushed back against Lance’s sword.
Lance’s sword swung back. Riven vanished and reappeared behind Lance to attack the head. Lance spun around, his massive sword headed toward Riven.
Riven maneuvered mid-air and dodged the sword just by a hair. The destructive light around the sword scorched his body even though it didn’t hit him, but Riven ignored it.
He fell toward Lance, his sword burning with the blue flas.
"One opportunity. One chance to take him down. If I fail, this is the end," Riven said to himself. He thrust his sword with all his strength. He was about to pierce through Amaterasu, but out of nowhere, Lance’s second hand rose and took the stab.
Lance then imdiately pushed back and forced Riven into a wall. Riven pushed the hand back and was about to launch again, but for the first ti, the twenty seconds he had gotten felt too short—because it finished.
Riven coughed massive amounts of blood, his body collapsing again. He fell to his knees, struggling.
Lance walked toward him, ready to finish the monster, but out of nowhere, a red fla slamd into Lance—followed by lightning, an ice lance, and a wind slash.
"Did you think we would allow you do it alone?" Robert yelled, then coughed out blood imdiately. Lance was pushed back slightly by the attacks, and that bought Riven so ti.
’They didn’t give up even in their state. I can’t let them down. I’m rank one for a reason, Riven thought’. He gritted his teeth, his sword exploded with dark blue flas.
