"Master, I-Tang Lishen made it clear whose disciple I was. And still, he dared."
Tang Lishen looked at Master Han iyu, but he received no reply in return. She kept looking at him without any change in expression while drinking her tea.
"Shit... this is worse than I thought, Han iyu cursed internally. I can’t even defend him at this point, no wonder i Lingling was so angry in the letter." Protecting Tang Lishen wasn’t as impossible as it seed. In fact, it was quite straightforward. i Lingyao had never officially declared Xuanyan as her personal disciple; officially, he remained an outer sect cultivator. anwhile, Tang Lishen was undeniably her own personal disciple. From a sect perspective, this situation could easily be frad as a simple conflict between two disciples of different ranks.
With enough personal compensation, the issue might have been resolved quietly. But the real problem wasn’t the sect’s rules–It was i Lingyao. If she took this personally, the already fragile relationship between them would crumble further. And if that happened, her freedom would be at risk.
Han iyu had no desire to be trapped within the sect walls. She valued her freedom far more than any disciples. If her cooperation with i Lingyao fell apart, she would be forced to remain, endlessly confined in alchemy chambers, refining pills day and night for diocre, weak cultivators who lacked both talent and ambition.
From the very start, Han iyu had sensed that sothing was amiss on this continent. Everyone here spoke endlessly about supremacy, elders proudly boasted of their power, sect masters ruled like monarchs, and Golden Core cultivators were treated as heaven-defying existences. Yet, with each step in her cultivation an unsettling feeling grew: a barrier, an unseen ceiling pressing down on everything.
The spiritual energy here was sparse compared to the rich realm described in ancient records. Most inheritance remained incomplete, and the path to higher cultivation was obstructed by invisible barriers. No one truly understood the complete, correct path, everyone rely advanced as far as they could.
Seeing the master deep in thought with no response from her, Tang Lishen continued his righteous speech. "Do you understand what this truly ans, Master? It wasn’t just my face that was hard–It was your reputation as well."
"Wh–what audacity! You insignificant ant—how dare you speak so shalessly of your own master?" Lin Feng rose to his feet, fury blazing as he pointed at Tang Lishen.
Tang Lishen didn’t flinch. He lifted his gaze slowly, lips curling into a thin, mocking smile. "Senior brother, sit down. I haven’t finished my story yet. If you’re going to bark, at least wait until I’m done speaking. Otherwise, you’ll embarrass yourself—and our master—at the sa ti."
The hall went quiet, The senior brother’s face darkened. "You—!"
"Silence Both of you." Han iyu’s voice cut through the hall as her spiritual aura burst outward without warning. Both disciples stiffened, sweat forming on their foreheads as their legs trembled under the weight. Seeing both of them beco obedient again, Han iyu withdrew her aura just as quickly. The oppressive force vanished, allowing them to breathe again."Tang Lishen you continued she ordered."
Tang Lishen straightened, voice steady again. "Now, if you’ll allow it—" his eyes flicked briefly toward Han iyu before returning back to the senior brother. "—I will explain why this matter affects more than just ."
He took a step forward, his voice filled with righteous indignation. "An outer sect nobody daring to act so arrogantly—if this spreads, others will follow. They will think the inner sect has grown weak, that your disciples can be trampled at will." He shook his head slowly, as if burdened by responsibility. "I am not speaking for myself, Master. I am speaking for the sect—for you."
"Especially when you are not present in the sect." Tang Lishen exhaled slowly, struggling to maintain his composure as he spoke again, his voice tinged with unmistakable excitent.
"That’s why I brought in bounty hunters," he declared boldly, with unwavering confidence and no trace of sha. "My goal was to cut the problem at its source—to eradicate the filth before it could infect the sect any further."
After Tang Lishen finished speaking, a heavy silence settled over the hall. He remained standing, his gaze fixed intently on Han iyu waiting for her decision and help him claim that woman. In his mind, the outco was already clear in favour of his side. The kiss that had humiliated him wasn’t evidence of her will–it was theft. Sothing that rightfully belongs to him had been stolen in front of everyone, damaging his and master reputation.
Han iyu slowly finished her tea. Throughout Tang Lishen’s shaless confession, she had not interrupted him.
There was sothing almost fascinating about the way he spoke—so confident, so righteous, yet oblivious. Even after confessing to hiring bounty hunters within sect territory, he carried himself as if he had done a noble deed. That was what amused her–not the cri itself but the pride behind it.
After what else could be expected? Before entering into the sect, Tang Lishen had been the young master of a powerful mortal clan. He grew up in luxury, surrounded by obedience. No one had denied him long enough for the denial to matter. He had never endured humiliation he couldn’t erase. So, when a woman rejected him, he didn’t reflect on himself instead he blad others.
Han iyu wiped her lips lightly with her fingers and rested her hand near her mouth, watching him. All three disciples were staring at her now, waiting for the outco.
Luo Yan’s hands were clasped tightly beneath her sleeve. She knew Tang Lishen was wrong, but she also knew he did not see his own flaw. She hoped the master would guide him instead of any harsh punishnt.
Lin Feng, on the other hand, felt only irritation. The faint confidence lingering in Tang Lishen’s posture disgusted him. He wanted that arrogance broken.
Tang Lishen, unable to contain him impatience in the silence, blurted out, "Master... should I go tomorrow and personally bring that filth here—"
