Five years later.
"They are going to spot us if we do not move now, Vincent," Aurora whispered as softly as she could.
"Aurora, you live in a house full of werewolves. You know they can hear you even if you whisper right?" Vincent replied, finding their predicant to be humorous. It wouldn’t be long before they are caught. "We will just say we are going sowhere and they can’t co with us."
"It is only easy for you to say this. They give a sad look and I fall for it each ti. It’s best we avoid them," Aurora replied.
Vincent smiled as light footsteps behind them confird their plan to sneak out was failed. "Too late for that. You two are supposed to be in bed," he turned around, looking around at the two children who were always determined to follow him and Aurora.
Aurora pald her face in disbelief that they were caught but then again, Vincent was moving slowly like he did want to be caught. Each year he would try to get out of where they were going tonight. She could have tied him up with vines and dragged him out of their ho.
Aurora turned around to deal with the children she put into bed an hour ago. "Lucian," she said to her oldest child. Not long after they married, they were blessed to have their now four-year-old son. It was Vincent’s idea to give him an old werewolf na. Three years later they had their two-year-old daughter, Ashina. "Did you wake your sister again?"
Lucian innocently smiled while he held onto his younger sister. "I heard a noise outside my room so I went to check on her and she woke up. She cried to co with so I brought her alone. Where are you going, mother?"
Aurora knew the story didn’t go exactly as she was being told. It wasn’t the first ti Lucian woke up his sister on purpose to bring her along for whatever trouble he would get in. It reminded Aurora of her younger days with Regina.
"Lucian, I have told you many tis you cannot wake your sister when it is ti for her to rest. She gets fussy when she doesn’t get enough rest," said Aurora.
"But we’re wolves. She shouldn’t be sleeping at night. I feel most energetic when the moon is out. You said the moon gives us power father," Lucian said, looking at his father to back him up.
"That is true," Vincent answered. "But your sister is younger than you and she needs to rest. Uncle Victor will be stopping by to visit the two of you while we are away. You will see us when the sun rises."
Aurora ruffled Lucian’s white hair which he inherited from her. "Your cousin will co to spend the night with you. When you are much older, I will take you with us, Lucian but right now," she stopped to stoop down to his level. "I need you to keep an eye on your sister while we are away. Can you do that for mommy?"
"Yes!" Lucian nodded his head. He released his sister’s hand and reached out for his mother to lift him for a kiss goodbye.
Aurora smiled, lifting her son into her arms. Ti was flying by quickly and pretty soon she would no longer be able to lift him. "I am fine," she said to Vincent when he looked concerned because she was lifting Lucian. They had not told the children of their new sibling.
Aurora was adamant it would be the last child she would have but Vincent didn’t seem too convinced. Ashina was ant to be the last until one night of pleasure and now here they were. She forgot about only wanting two children the mont Vincent would start undressing her and taking her to their bed.
Ashina reached out to her father to hold her since Lucian was lifted by their mother.
Vincent lifted her up, careful not to hurt the stuffed rabbit she cared for and always carried around. It was a gift from her aunt. "You must get so rest. I will see you soon," he said, then kissed her cheek and tickled her side. Her laughter ward his heart. "Take your sister back to bed, Lucian. If your uncle says you didn’t behave, I won’t take you to see the old castle anymore."
This was the first Aurora heard of them going to the old castle. "When have you two-"
"Let’s go to your room Ashina!" Lucian yelled purposely interrupting his mother before his father could get in trouble. Going to the old castle was ant to be their secret. Lucian wiggled out of his mother’s arms and then waited for Ashina to squirm her way out of their father’s arms.
The mont Vincent placed Ashina on the floor, Lucian grabbed her hand and ran off with her to her room which was previously used by Aurora.
"I thought there were no secrets between us," Aurora said to her husband. "Now I must take Ashina on an adventure you know nothing about. We need to leave now or we will be late," she said, pulling Vincent closer so he wouldn’t be left behind.
After years of practice, Aurora was able to pull off a trick she saw used by Artemis. A bright light appeared before her and just as Aurora had done when she escaped the Hamiltons, she touched it vanishing into thin air with Vincent.
Far away from their children and the other werewolves, they appeared on a road that was not vacant.
"You are late," Regina said with folded arms. She was starting to think Aurora wasn’t going to show up to carry on a tradition they started three years ago. "Did Lucian catch you again?"
"Yes and as always he brought his sister with him. Did your children catch you?" Aurora asked, walking up to where Timothy and Regina waited for her and Vincent. Like her, Regina had two children. Both girls were one year apart.
"They wouldn’t if their father didn’t go to check if they were sleeping," Regina replied, side-eyeing her husband who almost ruined the night.
"One look from their mother and they went straight to bed. I am waiting to be forgiven for waking them up," Timothy said. He didn’t an to disrupt the one day Regina loved more than their children’s birthdays.
"I almost turned him into a frog," Regina muttered. "We shouldn’t waste any more ti, Aurora. We have so much to do at the festival."
Regina hooked her arm with Aurora’s and led her to the carriage that would take them to the harvest moon festival in town. Timothy and Vincent followed behind them, both only coming along to keep their wives safe.
One day when their children fully understood the dangers of this world and knew not to show what they really were, they would bring them along. Until then, Aurora and Regina enjoyed coming together as it reminded them of their youth.
