"Why are they drawing on her face?" Tara asked, watching the won she did not know draw on the princess’s face. She didn’t understand why they were able to draw on soone’s face but she was scolded when she tried to draw a flower on Abigail’s.
"It is to let everyone know she is the bride. It is like a wedding dress for us," Jane answered. She stood on the sidelines with Abigail who didn’t want to leave her side. She was worried about how the won in the room would be with her children but they were surprisingly kind.
Jane couldn’t place if they were being kind because they now had a different view from Vincent not marrying a werewolf or they were just pretending to be kind in front of Aurora. So won could tell it was the latter but others confused her. Still, she was happy she didn’t need to take the children ho when they were enjoying the wedding.
"One day when it is your ti to be married your face will be painted too," said Aurora.
"No," Tara chuckled, shyly covering her face.
"She doesn’t know what marriage is," said Abigail. She didn’t see why her sister was acting so shy.
"I will explain it to her at the right ti. What about you? Do you want to be married?" Jane asked, secretly hoping Abigail would say no. She wanted to keep them to herself as long as she could and she was worried about them not finding soone living amongst werewolves.
It was possible they could find mates because it was normal for werewolves and humans to mate with each other but it didn’t an the other person would accept them. She might have to one day convince Vincent to let them leave and find soone to spend the rest of their lives with.
Abigail shook her head. "I want to stay with you and Derek."
Jane smiled but she knew that would change once they ca to that age where boys would be on their minds.
"It’s scary how children can bring out a different side to us. You are a bit different from when I t you, Jane. I can’t help wondering how I will change. I’ve changed more than I needed to already. Are you ready to join everyone?" Aurora asked Tara, lifting her off her lap.
"Yes!"
Aurora stood up from the chair she was forced to sit in, enjoying the designs the won created on her face. She was not able to join the tradition of werewolves shifting on their wedding day but she was happy with the drawings on her body so their wedding wasn’t only about a tradition she was used to.
Aurora held Tara’s hands, leaving with her first while the other won and Jane followed behind her. They had much to celebrate now and she could hardly wait to show Vincent her face.
Hours after Aurora and the won left to join the celebration, Aurora and Vincent departed from everyone else to have a mont to themselves. They were constantly surrounded to be given blessings and well wishes. They were both thankful for them but after a while, they only wanted to be in each other’s company.
Aurora was the first to sneak off shortly followed by Vincent. She went ahead to their room to wash off the paint from her face as it started to beco unbearable after she started to sweat.
Now in the bathroom, she splashed water on her face both to remove the paint and to calm her nerves. She didn’t know why she was nervous to be alone with Vincent when this would not be the first ti they were intimate. Perhaps it had sothing to do with their vows. She did not want to ss up pouring her heart out to Vincent and telling him how much she loved him.
"He already knows that you love him. I’ve said it many tis so why am I constantly nervous? Is there so magic behind weddings that makes the bride nervous? Vincent looks unaffected. I’m jealous," Aurora muttered.
"Aurora," she heard Vincent’s voice outside the bathroom.
She took a deep breath to rid herself of her fears and walked to the bathroom door to open it. Aurora bit her lip, excited by the ssy sight of Vincent. His once neat hair was ssy and his shirt was halfway unbuttoned.
Vincent reached out to touch her chest where he heard her heart beating at a quick speed. "Nervous? I have heard it all night," he said.
"I have no clue why I am nervous. I am acting as if I have never been with you. How are you so calm?" She whispered, looking away from him.
"Calm?" Vincent chuckled as he was far from calm. He was riled up on the inside that she was now his wife. He was holding back because he sensed she was nervous about sothing.
"I love you, Vincent. I love that you have waited for for many years. I love that I feel safe with you. I love that you would jump straight into danger for . If I had not rembered a single mory about us, you would have been satisfied with just staying by my side. I love that you go out of your way to make happy and I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with you. I promise to always love you," Aurora said, finally giving her vow.
Her nervousness went away now that what was weighing her mind was said.
Vincent smiled, placing his right hand on her cheek and caressing it. Her actions had shown how much she loved him but he was delighted to hear her lengthy confession. "I love that you made feel love, Aurora. You brought a light to my dark world after the loss of my parents. I vow to protect, love and fill your life with happiness. I hope you are prepared to remain by my side for eternity. I won’t let you leave if you want to."
"What a creepy ending, Vincent," Aurora comnted, tiptoeing to kiss him. She had been waiting far too long to kiss him again. "Luckily, I have no desire to run away from you again."
"Good," Vincent replied, leaning down to et her lips. While their lips moved in sync, he was busy trying to find a way to get her out of the dress. It was pretty but it served its purpose.
"So impatient," Aurora muttered, pulling away from Vincent to help him with her dress. "Not that I mind," she added, just as eager as him to be closer.
