"I always knew you would be a beautiful bribe and I prayed on it endlessly that you would get married before to anger my mother. I hope she is looking up at this mont and screaming her lungs out," said Regina.
Not knowing the family dynamic, Jane and Cherry looked at Regina.
"She’s my mother but she wasn’t that good of a person to be looking down at us. I can be honest with where they all ended up," Regina clarified for the two won. "My family should all be in the world below getting punished. It is what they deserve. I had envisioned Samuel would be here on your wedding day."
"Have you heard from him?" Aurora asked.
"No," Regina shook her head. "It is for the best that he doesn’t send any letters or return now. The town is a ss trying to figure out what happened. Timothy took to the town guards to show that I am alive. We haven’t ntioned Samuel yet."
Aurora was concerned about how Regina was dealing with all the gossip about the Hamiltons losing everything. "Are you alright?"
"Yes. Nothing from all the gossip can upset . Besides the ones from Gretchen that I sacrificed my family for Timothy to like . I really want you to turn her into a frog," Regina plotted.
Aurora didn’t doubt there would be a day Gretchen might end up missing and Regina would suddenly have a pet frog. She was curious about the future if Regina would truly want to beco normal. She seed to be getting caught up in being a witch and loving it too much. If she fully embraces it, Regina could beco powerful.
Regina cleared her throat, ready to give a grand speech. "We must do your wedding day the right way. Aurora," she placed her hand on Aurora’s shoulder, careful not to get in the way of her hair being brushed. "Today is a big day for you young lady," she said.
Jane snorted, caught off guard by the terrible impression of a man. She bit her lip to refrain from laughing. "Please continue," she said.
Jane saw why Aurora would miss being around this young woman though they were not blood-related. If Jane wasn’t aware of the backstory, she would think Aurora and this young girl were blood sisters. They reminded her of the fun she would have with her sister
"Young lady, I am handing you off to spend the rest of your life with this man but should he ever break your heart or try to hurt you, know that you can return to at any ti. After I kill him of course," Regina said in her fake father voice.
"Regina, where on earth did you hear soone give this kind of speech on a wedding day?" Aurora asked.
"I’ve been to a couple of weddings and eavesdropped on the speech. That was far better than not even thinking of coming back to us if he divorces you. You are married, you are on your own. That one was brutal and I was shocked the bribe didn’t cry. It was fun to spy on people’s lives. Good ti," Regina said.
"What about her mother?" Cherry asked, curious about how this voice would be.
"Let’s see. Aurora," Regina said, trying her best to sound like her late mother. "Why the hell are you getting married before my daughter?" She asked but then leaned forward to laugh.
"That is scary how much you sound like her and how that is absolutely sothing she would ask . Thank you for being here. It feels like I am starting to have two more sisters and my family is expanding. You have all been here for in different ways and I cannot express how grateful I am for you," Aurora said, tears forming in her eyes as she spoke.
Since her days with Artemis, she had slowly added more people to her life who she considered family. They helped her experience emotions that were once foreign to her and mold her into the person that she was now. She was always secretly jealous of the living humans and other creatures had with each other as a family, which was why she had followed Vincent out of the forest in the first place. Then wanting to have a friend, she followed Esralda.
As chaotic as her life was from the first step she took out of the forest if she could change the past she wouldn’t. It would alter the relationship she had with the three won in the bathroom right now. Graham might still be alive, Cecilia wouldn’t be locked up, and the imposter Hamiltons might have done more sinister things to have witches rule the kingdom.
No one would want to go through what she did with the Hamiltons as it was painful to have her mory wiped and a wish pushed out of her. Then there were innocent children slaughtered but Aurora couldn’t help wanting Regina to be in her life. She loved Regina that much to go through all of that again. She had always wanted a sister and sohow it seed like soone else had granted her wish.
"Aurora, if you cry then I am going to cry. You know I say there is no reason for people to cry at weddings," Regina said as she wiped her eyes.
She always thought that it was cringy since it was common knowledge the two people were giving their hearts to each other so why was everyone having these waves of emotions? Now she understood why and hated it because she was just like those people now.
Cherry fanned her eyes not knowing why she was feeling the need to tear up. Just a mont ago they had all been laughing at the weird man voice. She could not cry now. She becos an emotional wreck whenever she cries. "Now the tears are flowing. Are you happy now?" She asked no one in particular.
Jane smiled, finding the mont to be sweet.
