Chapter 870: Chapter 436: Spare Your Life Chapter 870: Chapter 436: Spare Your Life During the ensuing ti, although David was not at the center of the dinner, many people still sought him out for conversation.

Among these people were Congressn, Cabinet mbers, and celebrities from various fields, not all of whom were rely trying to be friendly. Most of them wanted to inquire about his next move.

After all, when Payden was in office, David had caused quite a stir in New York, and now with Katherine having taken over, could his actions possibly be minor?

However, David did not feel the need to explain his future plans too clearly to these people and casually dismissed them after a few words.

When the clock struck 12, the dinner finally ca to a close.

“Chief Inspector David, I am still grateful for your attendance tonight and for your help. I will keep this in mind.”

Today, with too many visitors at the dinner and nurous toasts, Katherine had drunk quite a bit. Now, as she saw David to the door, she spoke earnestly, influenced by the alcohol.

David nodded slightly, then changed the subject, “By the way, Madam President, there’s sothing I’d like to clarify with you.”

“What is it?”

Hearing there was sothing to be discussed, Katherine imdiately shook off so of her drunkenness and listened intently.

“I won’t interfere with how you arrange the other Cabinet mbers, but Sullivan is talented. If you don’t mind, perhaps he could be retained.”

The trigger for his conflict with Payden was actually due to Sullivan’s instigation.

But then again, the two didn’t really have significant personal grievances, and David could understand Sullivan’s intent to regain power for Payden.

Of course, this was not the main reason David was willing to spare Sullivan.

As he said, Sullivan truly was a rare talent.

Sullivan’s foreign strategy plans could continue to maintain Arica’s influence abroad, and maintaining this influence naturally benefitted Arica’s dostic tax situation.

It’s like the petals and the roots of a flower; without the roots, beautiful petals cannot grow.

“Retain Sullivan?”

Katherine seed surprised by this proposition.

Logically, it was Sullivan’s instigation that had led to the conflict between Payden and David, and now David not only wasn’t settling scores with him, but he was even suggesting that she retain him?

“Is that inconvenient?”

“Of course not, Sullivan indeed is talented. There’s no one more suitable than him for the role of National Security Advisor right now!”

Katherine was not rely flattering David.

Sullivan’s talent was indeed well recognized, and if David really didn’t mind, she was quite prepared to retain such talent.

“That settles it then, Madam President. Take a good rest when you get ho. You have much to do tomorrow.”

“Alright, goodbye.”

David boarded the Cadillac Beast and headed back to his residence.

anwhile, in an antique manor’s hall in Washington D.C., a large group of people was gathered.

David would have recognized several familiar faces there if he had been present, including Jeff, Cyril, Reze.

However, the focus today wasn’t on them but on the three elderly n sitting at the center.

Among them was none other than Arica’s forty-third President, Bush Junior!

Just then, a man in a blue suit arrived and addressed Bush and the other two, “The presidential inauguration dinner has ended. Although we couldn’t extract much from David, it’s certain that in the upcoming midterm election, he plans to oust not only Freemasonry but also us and those backed by the Illuminati.”

Upon hearing this, people like Rege Cyril Jep furrowed their brows, and the expressions on the faces of the seated Bush and the others were equally grim.

After a mont, Bush turned to the two beside him and asked, “Gentlen, what are your thoughts?”

“David now controls the majority of seats in Congress and has even captured the White House. Even if the Big Three Groups use all our tricks, we’re unlikely to outmaneuver him.”

“Besides the White House, he controls the CIA, the FBI, the NAS, among other pawns. Unless we declare war on him with the military, our chances of winning are slim!”

The lant was clear in the voices of the family heads of Ye Party and Roosevelt.

They had hoped that this midterm election, by gaining many seats and then repealing the overseas tax shelter bill and cutting back the IRS’s power, they could stage a spectacular coback.

But the great purge in New York made sothing clear: with David’s capability and current control over resources, they couldn’t surpass him without resorting to violence.

Now, David was like the Gestapo of Deutschland during World War II, wielding imnse power and legality, ready to target and ruin anyone in his sight.

What’s more fatal now was that even the White House had fallen into his hands.

Their Ansa Group held influence in Arica, true, but how could such influence stand against David now?

“I also think that even if the Big Three Groups make more efforts, we’re likely destined to lose. To avoid our groups being destroyed altogether, I think… we should let go.”

“Let go? Mr. Bush, this isn’t child’s play. If we let go, there will be no chance of turning the tables. Moreover, do you think David would spare us, knowing what we’ve done?”
