Chapter 353: Chapter 210: Chips

The room fell silent.

After a while, Obadiah spoke up, “David, as the chosen one for the God-making project, I think we should give him a bit more trust. Since he believes he has a grasp on it, let’s let him try. And as Deputy Director Donald said, if it doesn’t work out, then we can let the CIA take over. It’s not like we have anything to lose. I think we can give it a shot.”

The senior officials in the room looked at each other, but in the end, no one looked like they wanted to stand up and oppose.

Although most of them didn’t quite believe David could capture Rodrigozki, who was in Bear Country, indeed, they had no reason to refute the words of Obadiah and Donald.

After all, if they caught him, it would be a great success, and if they failed, it indeed wouldn’t be much of a loss.

“Consultant Welton Heng, what do you think?”

Seeing that everyone seed to tacitly agree, Obadiah’s gaze shifted to Welton Heng.

After contemplating for a mont in his head, Welton Heng finally replied, “Since the Director thinks we can give it a try, I have no problem with it. However, I want to remind you that we should not drag this out too long. The longer we wait, the more the public opinion will fernt, and besides, we might miss a good opportunity for the CIA to take out Rodrigozki.”

Obadiah nodded and turned to Donald, “Go tell David, we’ll give him… three days. If it isn’t resolved within three days, we’ll handle it our way.”

“Yes.”

Western Suburb Branch.

After ending the call with Donald, David carefully pondered the feasibility of the plan and the various other factors in his mind.

After ensuring there were no significant issues, he took out his mobile phone and began to scroll through his contacts. After about two minutes, his finger stopped its movent on the screen and tapped on a number to dial.

Soon, the call was answered and a voice ca through, “Director David?”

“It’s , Director Elvis. How have you been recently?”

On the other end of the phone was none other than the supervisor of the two CIA agents who had been foiled by him last ti.

“Not as good as you, Director David. Lately, you’ve been making quite the splash, and you’ve even been promoted to the Director of the Los Angeles Western Suburb. I’m quite envious.”

“There’s nothing to envy…”

“Oh right, Director David, you didn’t call to ask about how I’ve been doing, did you?”

“Of course not. I’m wondering, Director Elvis, where are you right now?”

“San Francisco. Is there sothing you need?”

“How about a trip to Los Angeles? I’d like to discuss sothing with you.”

At the sa ti, Elvis, who was in a CIA base in San Francisco, displayed a hint of confusion upon hearing this, and after a mont of silence replied, “What’s in it for ?”

“If there was nothing in it for you, I wouldn’t have the nerve to bother you to make the trip.”

Elvis paused again before replying, “Can I co over in two days? Because I’ll also be going to Los Angeles then.”

“No, I need you to co right now.”

David was facing a huge crisis and didn’t have the ti to wait two days.

To entice the other party to co, he added, “Director Elvis, you are the Station Chief of Bear Country for the CIA, and as far as I know, your people sustained heavy losses in Bear Country recently. Don’t you want revenge, or to give an account to your superiors?”

Elvis was a bit displeased by David’s initial demand for him to co imdiately, but after hearing the rest of what he said, his expression turned serious, and he tentatively asked, “By revenge, you an…?”

“That’s why we need to et in person to discuss.”

Elvis’s expression shifted for a bit before he replied, “Alright, I’ll get ready now and then co over to you.”

“Good, I will be waiting for you at the office, Director Elvis.”

After ending the call, Elvis imdiately looked up and called out, “Jero, bring the latest report on David.”

He wasn’t foolish enough to reach the position of Station Chief of Bear Country without good reason. David asking him over certainly wasn’t out of kindness; there had to be so ulterior motive.

Soon enough, agent Jero approached Elvis and began, “Today is David’s third day as the Director of the Western Suburb Branch. Just yesterday, he had our biggest drug trafficking organizations swept, and by 10 o’clock this morning, all the key mbers of that group were sent to prison. The leader, Rodrigozki, happened to be in Bear Country, and escaped unscathed. Rodrigozki, seeking revenge, has just issued a $20 million US Dollar assassination bounty on David…”

“An assassination bounty?!”

Elvis was stunned. Rodrigozki was indeed bold, daring to put a bounty on the head of the current star Director of the IRS. Wasn’t this slapping the IRS in the face in front of the whole world?

But then again, with David looking for him, could it be related to this matter?

Elvis felt it was more and more likely.

After all, wasn’t Rodrigozki in Bear Country? And he, as the CIA’s Station Chief of Bear Country, could see David wanting to use his power to get back at Rodrigozki, which seed reasonable enough.

But in this case, what benefit could he reap from it?

“What’s the matter, Director Elvis?”

Watching Elvis’s changing expressions, Jero couldn’t help but ask.
