Accompanying Donnie were Helen, Alice, Pickford, Douglas, and others.
"Donnie, I thought you'd wait another two days before coming over!"
At the Hillock Hotel in Boise City, Donnie saw Nucky, who had arrived a day earlier than him.
Nucky had not been involved in the organization of the boxing match, but he certainly wouldn't miss such a grand event.
"Most guests have already arrived; if the host doesn't show up, wouldn't that seem a bit inappropriate?"
Donnie joked with Nucky.
Nucky introduced the people by his side, "Donnie, let introduce to you, this is Mr. Riel Edwards, the Governor of New Jersey, and this is Mr. Waldo Fegan, the Mayor of Boise City!"
"Mr. Edwards, Mr. Fegan, it's a pleasure to et both of you and I'm very thankful for your support of our event!"
Donnie said politely.
New Jersey has produced an important figure, the previous President Woodrow Wilson, who, after serving as the Governor of New Jersey, successfully ran for the President of the United States.
In the following years, Edwards also attempted to run for a seat in the House of Representatives but unfortunately did not succeed; after his term ended, he joined a Wall Street investnt firm and beca the CEO!
Limited information was available about Waldo Fegan; Donnie vaguely rembered that after an unsuccessful bid for Governor of New Jersey, Fegan returned to being a lawyer!
In short, both n were at the pinnacle of their political careers!
"Mr. Block, I must thank you for bringing the boxing match to our Boise City. The number of tourists here has increased considerably during this ti!" Fegan said to Donnie with a smile.
Donnie replied, "All credit goes to Mr. Nucky. It was he who recomnded Boise City to . Otherwise, I'd have had no idea we had a stadium here that can accommodate seventy-five thousand people!"
Nucky was montarily surprised, then his smile beca even brighter.
"Donnie, the Governor, the Mayor, and I are having dinner together tonight. As the organizer of the match, shouldn't you co along?"
Donnie apologized, "I should have attended tonight's dinner, but as you see, Mr. Nucky and gentlen, I have other guests to attend to. They're right here, and I've already made arrangents with them. With you, Mr. Nucky, being there to host the Governor and the Mayor, my presence isn't necessary!"
Nucky didn't press Donnie any further, saying with a smile, "Alright then, if you've already said so, Donnie, what more can I say!"
After exchanging pleasantries, they went their separate ways!
Although Alice and Helen were not staying in the sa hotel room as Donnie, they still gathered in Donnie's room at this ti.
"Why didn't you accept Nucky's invitation just now?" Alice asked curiously, sitting cross-legged on the couch and looking at Donnie. "Haven't you always said that the biggest gap between you and Nucky right now is in the political circles of Atlantic City and New Jersey? Isn't this a great opportunity?"
Donnie waved his hand, "This isn't an opportunity; it's a trap!"
"What do you an?" Alice didn't quite understand.
"Because the very fact that these two were here today is thanks to Nucky. Any interaction I have with them is under Nucky's watchful eye. Right now, Donnie still needs Nucky's presence in Atlantic City, so I cannot attend today, or else I'd definitely arouse Nucky's suspicion!" Helen explained, leaning comfortably on the couch.
Alice snorted proudly, dropping the subject.
Donnie then addressed the two, "Tomorrow morning, the 'Atlantic City Post' will be shooting promotional photos for George Caponti. Would you two like to go have a look?"
The mysterious allure of George Caponti had been maintained until now, but the ti had co to show the world his face.
"If that's the case, George Caponti will surely lose so of his female fans!" Helen comnted.
Actually, George Caponti was quite handso, very much in line with Western won's aesthetic standards. However, the pre-reveal hype about his mystery was so effective that it led everyone to form their own image of George Caponti.
There are as many Hamlets as there are viewers.
Among those people, there are definitely so who won't find George Caponti's appearance to their taste, which is why Helen made such a comnt.
"It doesn't matter now; all the necessary publicity has been done. Besides, it's about ti for George Caponti to engage in so promotional activities. If that's the case, why not let the 'Atlantic City Post' have an exclusive photo!"
"I won't go; it doesn't interest !" Alice was the first to decline the offer.
Having t George Caponti before, his aura of mystery didn't apply to Alice!
Helen also declined, "I won't go either. It's my first ti in Boise City, and I'd like to see what it's like!"
Donnie didn't say much, responding, "Well alright then, the two of you arrange as you please. I'll be quite busy for a while and won't have ti to accompany you!"
As more and more social elites were arriving in Boise City, Donnie, being the host of the boxing event, naturally had to take responsibility for their reception!
The two of them had no objection.
