Chapter 1678: Chapter 625: Enjoying Family Privilege ans Bearing Family Responsibility (Part 2)

“Block, from now on, the llon Family will rely on you!”

In front of all his descendants, Andrew llon once again emphasized Donnie’s importance!

Donnie nodded and said, “Don’t worry, I’m good friends with William, Paul, and Elza; I won’t let them suffer any grievances!”

Andrew llon nodded in relief, then addressed his descendants.

“This is how things are arranged for you. If disputes arise in the future regarding the family’s business, Donnie will help discipline you.

But I hope this will never happen.”

Paul llon and the others nodded in unison.

Then Andrew llon rambled on for a long ti before letting them leave.

The room was left with only Donnie and Andrew llon.

“Block, I’m counting on you in the future!”

Andrew llon sighed.

Entrusting his final cards to an outsider, Andrew llon indeed had reason to sigh, but he had no other choice!

Donnie comforted him: “Rest assured, they are all fine kids… except for David Bruce, no issues will arise!”

The continuation of the llon Family is, in so respects, successful.

Even though the third generation did not produce anyone capable of taking the helm.

After William llon, mbers of the llon Family gradually withdrew from the managent of the llon Consortium.

The Consortium was entrusted to professional managers.

The annual dividend from the llon Consortium to the llon Family is astronomical.

It is precisely because of this that the llon Family has remained strong for over a century.

In later generations, the llon’s na wasn’t prominent, simply because the family was so low-key.

After providing so many instructions, Andrew llon was clearly exhausted. Donnie suggested he rest and left the room himself.

“Block, let’s have a chat!”

William llon was waiting at Andrew llon’s bedroom door and spoke upon seeing Donnie exit.

Donnie smiled: “Sure!”

William llon did not go to Andrew llon’s study, although Andrew llon had already told him he could use it freely in the future.

The two walked toward the estate of the llon Family’s castle.

They chatted while strolling!

“I’ve already asked the servant to prepare your room!”

William llon told Donnie.

Donnie had co in a hurry and hadn’t booked a hotel, but with over a dozen rooms in the llon Family estate, he didn’t need to stay in a hotel, especially since no one knew how long Andrew llon had left!

Donnie nodded, having no objections to this!

William llon said: “I’ll have my secretary arrange an office for you in New York!”

Donnie waved his hand: “No need for an office. Andrew asked to serve as a vice president at llon, but not to get involved in the day-to-day business of the Consortium. If the circumstances Andrew ntioned don’t arise, I won’t go to llon!”

William llon felt a sense of relief upon hearing Donnie speak this way.

He couldn’t deny having any reservations about Andrew llon’s arrangents.

The unique difference is that William llon accepted Andrew llon’s arrangent but still wished to prove himself.

Even if he didn’t expand the llon’s business, he wanted to demonstrate his capability to manage the Consortium successfully.

Donnie said: “The most important thing now is to take over all of Andrew’s connections!”

The llon Consortium’s rapid and vast developnt owed largely to Andrew llon’s position as Secretary of the Treasury, serving under three Presidents of the United States.

During this period, Andrew llon built a vast network of connections,

spanning various governnt departnts across the United States.

But the political landscape is always like this.

The network exists as long as the individual does, even if bedridden.

But once the individual passes away, it is not so straightforward for their heirs to naturally inherit this network.

If people do not recognize your abilities, there might only be so remnants left, but in reality, there might not even be that much.

William llon now took over the llon Consortium, but whether he can reestablish control over Andrew llon’s previously managed network,

depends on his ability!

William llon nodded: “I know, which is why I asked you here. I want to suggest holding the Tarot Society’s conference at my estate this year!”

Over the years, the Tarot Society has been steadily growing, networking almost all elite circles in the United States.

At this point, to maintain the Society’s exclusivity, its mbers unanimously decided at last year’s eting to halt top-tier mberships.

For William llon, the first step in taking over Andrew llon’s network is gaining recognition from the Tarot Society mbers.

Although William llon was already a mber of the Tarot Society before,

everyone previously regarded him as Andrew llon’s proxy within the Society.

Rather than recognizing William llon himself!

Donnie nodded: “I have no objections. Contact Roosevelt; if he’s fine with it, then there’s no problem!”

Franklin Roosevelt is the current president of the Tarot Society.

But it doesn’t an he holds absolute authority within the Society.

Last year, an argunt erupted between Franklin Roosevelt and Jack Morgan during an internal Society eting.

William llon nodded: “Alright!”

While the two were chatting, Paul llon approached.

William llon showed him respect, but only he knew how much of that respect was genuine.

Paul llon laughed warmly; he was different from William llon.

He had willingly relinquished control of the llon Consortium, allowing William llon to take over.

So facing William llon, Paul llon had a psychological advantage.

Or perhaps he had no ambitions, allowing him to be more open-minded.

“Block, dinner is ready. We can chat about the horse racing in Atlantic City while we eat!”

William llon shook his head in resignation. Seeing Paul llon’s deanor, he even felt a bit self-deprecating; why bother challenging Paul llon?

After all, even if he ceded control of the Consortium to him, Paul wouldn’t take it!

The three of them moved to the dining room, where Elza llon, Rachel llon, and David Bruce were already seated.

Donnie offered the head seat to William llon.

Others showed no reaction, except for David Bruce, who looked sowhat uncomfortable.

“Block, I believe children should have more joy at the right age!”

Rachel llon still wanted to discuss child education with Donnie.

Donnie smiled: “I’ve left child education to Alice, never interfering. From Michael’s performance, it’s evident her approach is successful!”

Rachel llon sighed and said: “I once talked to Alice, suggesting that education shouldn’t be so rigid; it should also develop their interests!”

Donnie laughed: “Horse riding, golf, skiing, and tennis are their interests!”

Rachel llon said: “But what if their interests are different?”

Donnie said: “Then there’s no choice. Being born into a family like ours, they should bear the family’s responsibilities.

They can’t enjoy a life better than others thanks to the family and yet not shoulder any family responsibilities.

If that’s the case, unless they desire a life like an ordinary child and refuse any family aid, I can allow them to relinquish family responsibilities!”

Donnie’s viewpoint was simple; they can’t both enjoy the privileged life granted by the family and still demand a free life.

This is contradictory!
