Monroe is dead.
He died in his own study.
The murderer was Hector Moreno, whom Monroe trusted the most.
One shot, dead instantly.
After the gunshot, Hector Moreno tried to escape, but was stopped by the security personnel in Monroe’s estate, and then Hector Moreno shot himself!
This news quickly spread throughout xico City.
Everyone was in disbelief upon hearing it; they were well aware of Hector Moreno’s loyalty to Monroe.
But now Monroe is dead!
One of the top three power figures in xico died inexplicably at the hands of his most trusted subordinate.
At the Presidential Office, Calles was already aware of the incident.
"Mr. President, we have searched Hector Moreno’s ho, and his family has disappeared!"
Edson Araujo spoke with a slightly pale face; even though he was Calles’ confidant, he had to admit that Monroe was a figure he could not reach.
Could such an important person really die in such a way?
"This must have been done by Donnie Block!"
Calles said with a gloomy face, although he wanted soone to replace Monroe, he absolutely did not want Monroe to die in such a manner.
This is a provocation against the whole of xico.
"Mr. President, should we make this incident public?"
Edson Araujo asked Calles.
"Make it public?" Calles chuckled at himself and said, "How would you make it public, telling the citizens of xico that the murderer is Donnie Block? Do you have any evidence?"
Edson Araujo said, "We don’t need evidence; as long as we make everything public, people will surely make their own judgnts!"
Calles said, "And then what? What outco do you want to achieve after making it public?"
Edson Araujo montarily didn’t know how to answer Calles, wasn’t this the procedure to follow?
Let the entire nation know that Monroe was assassinated by an Arican businessman, Donnie Block, and also reveal Donnie Block’s relationship with Aguirre and Escovar.
Even without evidence, they can convince the entire xican public of this through rhetoric, and by then, all the anger will naturally be directed at Aguirre and Escovar, reducing their power!
Calles looked at Edson Araujo and understood his thoughts.
Then Calles pondered, "You’re not wrong, but do you understand what this ans? It ans that xico will declare war on the United States, and by then everyone doing business in xico will be pushed to Donnie Block’s side, giving the United States a legitimate reason to interfere more comprehensively in this matter."
Edson Araujo couldn’t fully grasp Calles’ aning right away.
Calles glanced at him and pondered, "You think by then the xican people will only despise Donnie Block, Aguirre, Escovar? They will then target all Aricans doing business in xico and attack their businesses, attacking all Aricans."
Edson Araujo finally understood what Calles ant at this point.
xico can target the U.S. with certain policies, but xico cannot truly beco enemies with the U.S. If that were the case, what would happen to xico? Calles didn’t know, but he could guess his own fate, which would be that his regi will completely lose U.S. support.
"So do we just have to swallow this bitter fruit?"
Edson Araujo couldn’t help but ask.
Calles sighed deeply; at this mont, what else could they do but swallow this bitter fruit?
"Notify War Departnt Cardenas to imdiately dispatch troops to Veracruz, only by quelling Aguirre and Escovar’s rebellion can we turn the situation in our favor!"
Calles instructed Edson Araujo.
Just as Edson Araujo was leaving to inform Cardenas, Calles suddenly called him back.
"Araujo, where is your family now?"
Edson Araujo turned pale; he understood what Calles ant.
Since Monroe could be dealt with by his confidant Hector Moreno, Calles was also worried about himself!
"They are all at ho now; if possible, I hope to bring them to the Presidential Office, as it is the safest place in xico!"
Calles nodded in satisfaction and said, "Alright, let them co, I will have the best accommodations prepared for them!"
"Thank you, Mr. President!"
.
"General, Monroe is dead!"
In Aguirre and Escovar’s headquarters, they also received this news.
Aguirre and Escovar exchanged a glance, both seeing surprise in the other’s eyes. It was only now that they rembered Donnie had previously told them that when they started their uprising, he would send them a big gift; they thought this gift was a second batch of weapon donations!
They didn’t expect it was to eliminate Monroe!
They had no doubts about Monroe’s death; it must have been done by Donnie!
"He’s got so nerve!" Aguirre’s eyes showed so fear; Monroe, being one of the top three figures in xico, could just be eliminated like that?
