"Sousuke-kun, what are your plans for next weekend?"
Tomoko's voice carried that particular breathless quality that ca after our more... intensive evening activities. Her words drifted through the warm air between us as we both recovered from what could only be described as a thorough celebration of my dical recovery.
"I have water polo club activities on Sunday," I replied, my own breathing still sowhat labored, "but Saturday should be completely free. Did you have sothing in mind, Tomoko?"
"Then co out with on Saturday, okay?" she said, rising gracefully to take a long drink of water.
"Of course! Where are we going?" I asked, gently pulling her back to my side where she belonged.
"There's an Asian Food Festival happening in Ueno Park next weekend," she explained, settling back into my embrace. "They apparently hold various food-thed events there regularly."
Food festival. Of course. I should have known it would involve her passion for cooking.
"I've always wanted to explore sothing like that, but going alone feels... strange. So I was hoping Sousuke-kun would accompany ."
I completely understood her enthusiasm for anything culinary-related. Watching her cook, seeing the joy on her face when she discovered new ingredients or techniques—it was one of the many things I'd grown to love about her.
"Absolutely. Let's make it a fun Saturday adventure," I agreed, my hand unconsciously tracing patterns on her smooth back.
"Thank you, Sousuke-kun," she murmured, snuggling closer. "Since you moved in, my life has suddenly beco so much more... fulfilling."
Fulfilling. Interesting word choice.
"Is it only your life that's beco more fulfilling, Tomoko?" I asked with deliberate mischief. "What about other... areas?"
Let's see how she responds to that loaded question.
Her reaction was absolutely adorable—that delicate pink fist coming up to lightly tap my arm while the blush that had been fading slowly crept back across her cheeks.
"You troublemaker! You usually seem so reliable and mature, so why are you being so inappropriate right now?"
Inappropriate? ? I'm just asking innocent questions about personal fulfillnt.
"Eh? Do you prefer serious guys, Tomoko?" I replied with mock concern. "Because if that's the case, I'm afraid I'll never be able to enter this room again. It's impossible for to stay serious when I'm looking at you."
"Don't... don't say things like that... really, Sousuke-kun... what am I going to do with you..."
Even though she knew I was teasing, genuine anxiety crept into her voice, and the sight of her flustered expression only made smile wider.
She's actually worried that I might beco all formal and distant. As if that could ever happen.
Our celebratory evening had stretched much longer than either of us had anticipated, and suddenly I realized how late it had gotten.
Ti really does disappear when you're having the kind of fun that makes you forget the outside world exists.
"I should head back, Tomoko. School tomorrow and all that," I said reluctantly, beginning the process of locating my scattered clothing.
"Ah, if only Sousuke-kun had more free ti," she sighed with genuine wistfulness.
"Well, as for ti, we'll have to wait for holidays. Sumr vacation should give us plenty of opportunities," I pointed out, though even as I said it, a complication occurred to . "But your daughter will be back by then."
Sachiko. Right. The daughter who doesn't know her mother is having a relationship with her tenant. That's going to be... complicated.
"That's right... if Sachiko cos back..." she trailed off, clearly thinking through the sa logistical challenges.
The reality of our situation. The secrecy, the careful timing, the need to be discreet. Sotis I forget that what we have exists in this bubble of privacy that won't last forever.
"Don't worry about it for now, Sousuke-kun. Just go back and get so rest," she said softly, pushing aside concerns about the future to focus on taking care of in the present.
After reluctantly saying goodbye, I returned to my own room and collapsed onto my bed, thoroughly drained but completely satisfied.
The best kind of exhaustion. The kind that cos from genuine happiness and physical satisfaction.
Outside, the night was peaceful—just the gentle rustling of leaves in the breeze and pale moonlight painting everything in silver. The entire world seed to have settled into quiet slumber.
