Yarin's POV:
The unexpected turn of events drew gasps from the onlookers. Eden was caught off guard and took a punch to his cheek, sending him crashing to the ground.
"Oh my god!" Autumn scread, "What are you doing, Kris? Stop it! I've already told the teacher!"
She stood in front of Eden, and her friends had already rushed in the direction of the teaching building. Clearly, they were going to get a teacher.
"Move aside, Autumn. This is a matter between n. You just watch how I teach this coward a lesson," Kris said darkly.
"Are you crazy? You better think about how to explain this to Ms. Maggie when she returns. If you dare fight in school, she'll make sure you get expelled."
"Expelled? Even if she has the ability, she has to get past my grandfather's approval first. He has the power and influence. A commoner like her can be kicked out of the school by a word from my grandfather!"
This lofty aristocratic attitude imdiately caused a stir among the students. While Sivir Academy did admit many nobles, most students were commoners. Chris's arrogant deanor naturally led to their rejection.
However, no one dared to speak up. Firstly, Kris's fist was truly intimidating, and Eden was still lying on the ground, and secondly, as offensive as Kris's words were, they were true. His grandfather had prestige, position, and power; definitely not soone the common folk could provoke.
Seeing this, I couldn't help but have a much lower opinion of that esteed noble. Even if soone was a war hero, they shouldn't have more power than their moral boundaries allow, especially if they allowed their descendants to bully and act tyrannically.
"Shouldn't we go and intervene?" Heller worriedly looked at the scene below and asked in a hushed voice, "Eden is clearly no match for Kris. What has that kid been eating to grow so big?"
"Being big doesn't necessarily an being strong," I said.
Hale mumbled, "But nobody wanted to be trained like you and from a young age... at least Eden wasn't. He definitely can't beat Kris! Kris isn't holding back, and if Eden gets hurt, what do we tell Lady Charlies?"
"Don't worry, I've already taken care of it. Nothing will happen to Eden."
Watching the standoff on the field, I said.
Autumn was becoming frantic. Clearly, she didn't want this spectacle to continue, but she wasn't a match for Kris.
Just then, Eden stood up and walked out from behind Autumn. He said to Kris, "You want a fight, is that what you're asking for? Fine, I'll indulge you."
Autumn grabbed him urgently and said, "Don't be foolish, Eden. The teacher is coming soon. Don't do sothing stupid with him."
Eden turned back to Autumn and smiled reassuringly. "Don't worry, I've got it under control. Besides, he's challenged to this point. If I still try to avoid it, I'd be a coward. Step away, Autumn. You're innocent and shouldn't be involved in our fight."
Autumn wanted to say sothing more, but her friends realized the tension and forcibly pulled her away, half coaxing and half forcing her.
Now, only Eden and Kris remained on the field.
Under the gazes of the crowd, Eden rubbed his swollen cheek and said to Kris, "Feel free to provoke however you like, Kris, but you shouldn't insult Autumn. You want to mimic the duels of ancient knights, but deaning a lady is not sothing a knight would do. It'll only make you a clown, kid, a foolish, arrogant, and laughable clown."
Kris's anger flared, and he imdiately raised his fist, shouting, "I'm going to kill you, punk!"
Eden managed to evade the first punch clumsily, but the second ca quickly. He couldn't dodge it and was hit in the shoulder, causing him to lose balance and fall to the ground.
As he attempted to get up, Kris delivered a kick to Eden's thigh, immobilizing him. Eden could only curl up and endure the beating.
"Get up, you wimp! You're so tough, right? If you're a man, get up and punch , you sissy!"
Kris's cronies laughed and wanted to step forward to help, but Kris waved them away.
"I can handle this kid on my own," he arrogantly declared.
And right at that mont, as Eden lay motionless on the ground, he suddenly exploded into action. He grabbed Kris's leg and pushed forward, causing Kris to lose his balance and fall. Eden then seized the opportunity to mount Kris and landed two hard punches on his face and belly.
But that was it, as Kris's cronies sward in, pushing Eden away. Kris stumbled to his feet, clutching his stomach, glaring at Eden.
"You're done for, punk," he said nacingly.
Heller was practically losing his mind, asking, "Are we just going to stand here and do nothing? Kris is going to beat Eden to death!"
"Don't worry, I've said I've got everything arranged."
Eden had thrown those two punches, and that was enough. The rest would be taken care of by
the 'goddess'.
I had promised, and now it was ti to deliver.
