Yarin's POV:

Of course, I was happy to introduce Aunt Carolyn. I said, "Aunt Carolyn? She's a close friend of our family, the only daughter of the Southern Duke. She has been studying abroad for the past few years."

I recalled the elusive gaze during the day and asked, "Why are you suddenly asking about this? Do you know her? I thought I saw you looking at her during lunch."

Spil shook his head and said, "Just asking casually, it's nothing..."

He didn't seem like he was just casually asking, and I wanted to say sothing more, but the black wolf agilely jumped out of the half-open window and disappeared into the woods outside the palace.

"Weird..."

I shrugged it off and continued to fiddle with the new pistol I received.

The velvet box contained only the pistol, with no matching bullets. Thinking about it, that made sense; this product from the early last century wouldn't have matching production lines in this century, not to ntion firearms that constantly go through updates and replacents. The bullets suitable for this pistol were probably discontinued long ago.

Just like Aunt Carolyn said, if a weapon could only be kept as a collectible antique in a warehouse, it would lose its purpose.

But now, even if its owner wanted to fulfill its mission, the path to realization had long disappeared. In this way, could this pistol only be unable to fulfill its long-cherished duty forever?

Even if it was well-preserved, the tal barrel was inevitably covered with tiny scratches. So scratches were on the lily petals, just like the veins on the petals, making this ancient flower that crossed a century co to life.

Not long after, Spil returned.

He transford into his human form, his handso face looking serious, and he asked, "Who lives over there?"

"What?" I was puzzled, "If you an the whole southwest part of the Lycan Pack, I can only say there are hundreds of thousands of residents, and it would take a lifeti to na them all."

But it was clear that Spil didn't take it as a joke. He continued, "Far from the suburbs, even farther, who lives there?"

Farther than the suburbs?

"I don't know," I said. "What's going on? If you want to know, we'll have to request access to resident information, but that requires official procedures, so I need to talk to Mom first..."

"Do witches live in the werewolf territory?" Spil interrupted . Although his words sounded a bit blunt, I knew he wasn't angry; he always spoke straightforwardly.

I was suddenly thrown off track, finding it difficult to co up with soone in my mory who fit the description of a witch, shattered and connected to Aunt Carolyn.

"I really don't know who you're talking about. The southwestern part, farther than the suburbs, is the royal private estate. Only a few of us are in our family, and no one lives there..." I paused for a mont, and then a thought occurred to .

Speaking of the royal estate, I recalled sothing from my past mories.

In the southwestern part, the Lycan King built an ancient estate several generations ago for his ailing mother. As it wasn't particularly close, it had been left vacant for a long ti, and very few royal family mbers would stay there.

However, one day in my childhood, I overheard my parents vaguely ntion the estate during a casual conversation. From their words, it seed like there was indeed a resident there.

So, I changed the topic and said, "Well, I just rembered a clue that might help you find the person you're talking about. But I know very little about it; we must ask Mom and Dad." Therefore, I went to find my parents at once. My mom went to see a doctor with Heller. Only my dad was dealing with official business in the study.

He raised his head from the pile of docunts and greeted with a smile, "Hello, Mr. Spil, and my dear son, are you here to read? Please make yourself at ho. Don't be afraid of disturbing . I'm just about to go out."

"No, Dad, we're here to ask you a question," I said.

"What is it?"

"Do you know who lives in the manor in the southwest of the suburbs?"

Dad's expression changed as if surprised that I would ask about the manor. "Why are you suddenly asking this? What happened?"

"It's , Your Majesty," Spil said, stepping forward. "I sensed the witch's presence in that direction."

Hearing this, my dad's expression changed slightly. He hesitated before finally sighing deeply and saying, "Since you have already discovered it, please sit down. Let tell you about the guests in that manor."
