Yarin's POV:
It reminded of the night Lily, Heller, and I returned from Border City. There seed to be dangers hidden in the dark shadows, tempting ignorant pedestrians to fill the stomachs of the monsters in the forest.
People silently passed through the darkness. In the distance, a few clusters of lights flashed sporadically.
The city was near.
My dad didn't say anything when he saw . He just let out a deep sigh of relief and strode forward to hug .
"... Welco back, son."
Behind him was Heller, who was leaning against the door fra. Although he couldn't see anything, he found accurately and smiled at .
I approached him and whispered, "I'm sorry I couldn't avenge Kara. Karter... ran away."
After being silent for a few seconds, Heller patted my shoulder and said, "You've already done very well, Bro."
He rarely called that.
"Revenge for the dead is our motivation. Don't let it beco your shackles."
Lying on the bed again, I couldn't help but smile at those familiar faces. "Why do I feel like this happened a few days ago?"
Aunt Dorothy helplessly pushed down to the bed and began to examine .
The gentle magic power carefully traveled through every corner of my body and then seeped into my soul bit by bit. This mysterious feeling was hard to describe. If one had to describe it, it was like soaking in the warm seawater under the sun or floating in midair. It was both relaxing and a subtle sense of oppression.
When I ca into contact with the half-baked witchcraft that was placed in my soul, I subconsciously beca alert. I waved my hand and pushed Aunt Dorothy away, almost attacking her.
I stopped waving my fist and said embarrassedly, "I'm sorry. It was a subconscious reaction. I couldn't control it..."
Aunt Dorothy was not angry. On the contrary, she was a little happy. "This is good, child. This ans that your soul is agile and alert. The witchcraft placed in your soul did not negatively affect your soul."
Then, the examination continued. When Aunt Dorothy's magic touched my soul this ti, an unexpected change occurred.
Only a very subtle black mist was leaking out from a corner of my soul. When Aunt Dorothy went to check vigilantly, the mist seed conscious and entangled her, greedily absorbing all the magic power from her.
As the fog expanded, a strange yet familiar feeling made my hair stand on end.
A second before the darkness arrived, I pushed Aunt Dorothy away again. Then, the fog swallowed my consciousness.
It was cold.
Darkness.
It was terrifying.
This was the first thing I felt after regaining consciousness.
I didn't know where I was, but I felt a cold mist surrounding . It felt as cold and delicate as expensive silk.
"Yarin..."
Soone was calling , his voice distant and ethereal.
"Yarin, child... It's ti to wake up."
I opened my eyes at the voice's instruction.
A dark and quiet forest appeared before . There was no light above my head and no fire around . Only fireflies were floating among the trees, occasionally appearing and disappearing, bringing faint light.
Where was this place?
I was floating in the air, the thick black fog hanging like a rope. However, they soon dispersed. I landed on the ground and found a thin layer of snow under my feet.
The black fog gradually condensed into a thin line that seed to guide in a specific direction.
I looked at the fog line that extended into the endless darkness. After hesitating for a mont, I still walked over. There was no path other than the direction of the line. Instead of waiting for death, it was better to see what awaited at the end of the line.
Besides, the fog was too familiar. Azazel was the only person I could think of who was related to it.
There was a high chance that he was the mastermind behind the accident. Facing him, it was useless to run away.
After following the line for a while, the road ahead suddenly opened, and an endless snowfield appeared before . The light from an unknown source dimd the snow land.
Right before , a handso man with a straight back was facing .
I didn't know him, but my instincts told he was Azazel.
The man turned around, his silver-gray hair reflecting the white snow.
"Although it was a short separation, I still have to say that I'm thrilled to see you, my dear little grandson."
"What did you do to my soul? Where is this place?"
In the blink of an eye, Azazel appeared before . I was shocked, but before I could get away from him, I was firmly bound by the black fog that had appeared around that had suddenly
appeared.
"First of all, to answer your question, I did put sothing in your soul, but don't worry, it won't harm you in any way. It's just a shortcut for a lonely old man like to visit my
grandson."
"So you used this to invade my body," I said coldly.
Azazel smiled and agreed.
