Upon arriving at Midnight Pack, Felissa and Vanda were greeted by the pack mbers with flowers and a little celebration with food placed on a long table.
"Welco! Luna Felissa Nucci!" they greeted in unison before throwing another bunch of petals in Felissa’s direction.
Felissa was shocked since she expected them to despise her as the new Luna.
On the other side, Vanda was enjoying the mont. She spread her arms and circled around the rain of petals in her way.
"Ah! This is a warm welco!" Vanda explained with twinkles in her eyes.
"I guess it is," Felissa muttered awkwardly. She wasn’t used to the nice gesture from her pack mbers, but she didn’t want to let them down as well. She greeted them one by one with a big smile on her face before settling over the table with lots of food.
"Luna, we prepared a banquet for you as part of the celebration of welcoming our new leader," Abramo Schiavone, the previous Beta, stated as he lowered his head.
"Hmm," Felissa humd and glanced around. She noticed that most n were there in their best attire. Although, several she-wolves also attended.
"Thank you, Sir Abramo" Felissa stated and breathed heavily. Everyone was waiting for her announcent to proceed.
"Well, let’s feast!" Felissa exclaid and everyone hailed in delight.
The pack mbers started congratulating Felissa and gave her small gifts before digging into the food they had prepared.
"Seems like they already know that you’re the new Luna," Vanda whispered while munching on the chicken leg.
"I guess they announced it in advance," Felissa muttered and stared at the food. They all looked appetizing, but she had no energy to taste any of them.
’I should take a bite so they won’t be disappointed,’ Felissa thought and was about to grab so at when soone distracted her.
"Luna," Vinicio stated and lowered his head.
"You’re here," Felissa put down the at and smiled at him. "Lord Vinicio, I apologize about last ti," she whispered.
"Don’t worry about it, Luna. I accept the consequences of my actions," Vinicio replied and stared at the at. He furrowed his eyebrows and glanced around.
Most of the pack mbers were eating from the food on the table, but nobody was taking the chicken and at that was placed at the center.
Vinicio leaned closer and whispered. "Luna, would you like to rest first? We have been travelling for a few hours before arriving here."
"Hmm, yes, but they prepared for my arrival. I should appreciate their efforts," Felissa stated and was about to slice the at, but Vinicio stopped her.
"I will get food for you. Please, have a good rest," Vinicio stated with a smile and grabbed a plate to show Felissa that she didn’t need to worry.
"Alright," Felissa smiled sweetly before gesturing for Vanda to co next to her.
"L-lady Vanda..." Vinicio was shocked to see Vanda eating the chicken leg and was still functioning well.
"Hmm?" Vanda tilted her head to the side. She saw the concern on Vinicio’s face and was staring at the food she ate.
"Nothing, please have a good rest in the pack house. We will get you two a plate," Vinicio stated with a forced smile before calling another knight to assist the two ladies in their rooms.
’Maybe I’m just anxious,’ Vinicio thought and sighed deeply. He turned his back and stared at the at. He raised his fork and was about to take one when a hand stop him.
Vinicio turned around and saw another knight. His appearance consists of dark hair and freckles on his face. He slightly shook his head and Vinicio retreated and went to the other platters where so pack mbers took their fill.
There were seven Palace knights in total, including Vinicio. They were personally chosen by Rosina to protect Felissa in case sothing happened in the Midnight Pack.
"Is there sothing wrong?" Abramo asked and looked at the plate Vinicio was holding.
"Sir, the Luna wants to rest in her chamber. Hence, I’m bringing her food," Vinicio replied and looked straight into Abramo’s eyes. He never bowed or showed respect since his title was higher than him.
More importantly, Abramo was already a previous Beta.
Abramo’s face hardened and his body beca tense. He didn’t back down and had a staring contest with Vinicio. He hated the fact that a re knight didn’t show him any signs of respect.
Vinicio understood and held his gaze. Everyone felt the increasingly dangerous aura surrounding the two n. They stepped back and ford a circle in case a fight would break out.
"A little pup wants to act mighty," Abramo said with sarcasm. He stepped forward to assert his dominance, expecting Vinicio to avoid him, but it was the opposite.
Vinicio smiled and was rather amused. "And you should rember your place," he stated nonchalantly.
That sentence made Abramo growl in rage and was about to attack Vinicio when the knights stood in front in defence.
At the sa ti, the Midnight pack knights stood guard to provide assistance to their previous Beta.
The tension increased as they circled around, assessing the enemy.
"I don’t think that’s a good idea, Sir Abramo," Vanda’s voice echoed as she opened the door of the pack house and went down toward them.
"Don’t involve yourself she-wolf," Abramo growled since he was already raging and Vanda’s interference made him more agitated.
"And that’s not a good thing to say," Vanda chuckled and walked straight in between the two groups. Her aura showed calmness during the commotion.
"Lady Vanda, please step aside. You don’t need to get involved," Vinicio whispered respectfully, but Vanda shook her head.
"Ah! It’s Luna Felissa’s day of arrival, yet, a fight already began. How amusing," Vanda exclaid and clasped her hands together. Her smile disappeared and stepped to the side to show Vinicio’s body.
"Also, I don’t think it’s the right move to pick a fight with Alpha Udinesi’s third son of the Moonstone pack," Vanda grinned and pointed toward Vinicio. She could hear gasps from the crowd and saw the surprised expression sketched on Abramo’s face.
