DAMON~

"He burned it?" I asked, astonished.

"To the fucking ground, all that’s left is fucking dust and ash." Jermaine replied painfully, His fist tight as if trying to restrain himself "He burned it down and I couldn’t do shit."

"I get what it feels like," I replied, I knew how intimidating Simons’s presence was and maybe it was because of the cancer that I felt so powerless next to him but I doubted that even when I was at a hundred percent we would be on equal footing.

"How’s he?" I asked relating the conversation to Spark’s health.

"He’s better, Imdiately they started treating him his healing kicked in." He replied, I turned to look out of the glass wall that separated my office from the outside, I felt grim, Simon had all the cards and all the power, and all I had was cancer, it was almost laughable. Howlcreek had always been a titan in comparison to other packs, the biggest and strongest, one of the first ones ever created, and because of my family’s strong genes the position of Alpha had always been in the hand of a Torrence but now Silver Hollow was making us scramble through the dirty for whatever could give us a slight edge against them.

When they made the first move on our rangers I had thought Simon simply wanted a war with us, but I was wrong, his plans are bigger than that, he plans to take everything, but I wouldn’t let him, I would fight till my last breath and even then I wouldn’t stop till my heart any longer beat, I would either die on a hospital bed or die fighting and of the two, I would much rather have the latter.

"We need to do sothing Dae," Jermaine said.

"That’s the problem, we don’t have cards to play. We are blank, all we can do is wait for him to make a move.", Jermaine grunted in disapproval but he knew we had no other options.

"We gotta figure sothing out if not we screwed Dae."

"I know, I know," I replied letting out a deep exhausted breath, there was a silence then I noticed his wary eyes on .

"What?"

"What about Zarah?" He asked.

"What about her?"

"I don’t know n, You talked to her yet?"

"She hates the sight of ," I responded with a chuckle but the words made my heart ache.

"Well, it took beating your ass to forgive you."

"And what I did to her was much worse, So what am I gonna do, have her hit with her fucking car?" I asked jokingly.

"It’s an option." Jermaine lightly chuckled before he suddenly turned serious "We’re really fucked Dae, You more than though."

"I have cancer and my pack is under attack so In what way are you fucked if I may ask?" I joked.

"Well—" he dragged on but in the end just laughed it off "I’m not fucked, I’ve just got shit to do." He admitted I knew what he ant by that.

"What’s that supposed to an?"

"It ans and Simon got beef and I’m gonna settle it."

"Don’t fuck around," I warned.

"I’m just gonna pay him back." He replied, the anger slowly returning to his voice.

"You saw him right, No offence but you don’t stand a chance."

"Doesn’t an I shouldn’t at least try n." He said.

"I’m all down for you making the score even but if you do it alone, I can assure you the loss of your life, Jermaine."

"You think I don’t fucking know that!"

"Then why do you still wanna do it?"

"Cause I can’t do anything else!" He yelled, his voice laced with frustration "I don’t have my people anymore, he took them, my ho he burnt it down, I ain’t got anything else hn, all I can do is fight."

"And you’re going to, but we gotta take our ti, he wants you to get angry and fuck up, don’t give him that pleasure, it not worth it." He looked at and then took in a deep relaxing breath.

"You’re right, I need to calm down."

"Look, I know how easy it is to wanna rush in head first but not when you’re up against soone like Simon," I explained, he nodded then sank into his seat.

"So what are you gonna do about Zarah?" He asked, changing the subject.

"I honestly don’t know, she won’t even look at then imagine how much worse it’ll be if I tell her I need our son for a transplant."

"She’ll kick your white ass to the curb." Jermaine laughed his mood a deep contrast to what it was a few monts ago. I had always found it amusing how he could go from dark to light in seconds and not be faking it.

"If she doesn’t rip apart the second she knows I can’t fight back."

"She’s not that cruel."

"Nah, she may be, you didn’t see the way she looked at , I felt like Hitler."

"You do look like him a little you just need the lil mustache." Jermaine chuckled mockingly, I shook my head as I stuck out a middle finger to him.

"Fuck you." I cursed jokingly, We both went silent as we twirled in our chairs and focused our eyes on the ceiling, the blank ceiling suddenly looking like the most interesting piece of art we had ever set our eyes on.

"You know sothing?" Jermaine suddenly said, still slowly twirling in his adjustable seat.

"What’s that?"

"I don’t think she hates you." He answered blankly.

"Well, I think she does."

"Maybe."

"Not maybe, you didn’t see the look in her eyes, you didn’t see the way she looked at , it was pure hate," I said and we went silent.

"I didn’t hate you, Sure I thought you were a piece of shit but I didn’t hate you."

"Then?"

"It’s hard for soone who you had good mories with, she may hate the mories you created but I don’t think she hates you."

"Maybe."

"Maybe."
