I felt cold just looking at the tension in her posture. Sothing had gone wrong. My heart was beating faster than usual when I stopped. Even though I didn’t an to interrupt I couldn’t help but feel that what she was saying was very important. Or perhaps it was just her. As if she were concealing sothing. She had been sent to monitor .

"Trixie?." I said in a low voice so as not to co across as accusing. But I was powerless to stop it. I had an instinct that I had to find out what was happening. Her body went cold. She nearly lost her grip on the phone but she quickly got it back and turned around as if nothing had happened.

However, I saw the slight trembling of her hand before she slipped it into her purse. With a perfect mask of calm on her face she turned slowly and said.

"Alpha Damon."

But by this point, I knew her too well. Sothing flickered in her eyes maybe fear and then it was gone. She did a good job of concealing it but not well enough. "I thought you said you wanted to answer a call?"

With a steady tone and a hint of suspicion, I said. "I heard you on the phone, who were you speaking to?."

Trixie looked down at her feet and then looked up at once more. She spoke a bit too hastily when she said.

"It was nothing. Just a few work-related items." She smiled.

Not that I believed her. Not for a mont. "Work stuff?" I said again as I moved in closer. "Trixie you don’t have to keep anything from ."

Her eyes darted away and she felt the slightest chill. I saw it but it was hardly noticeable. She tried to dismiss it as though it didn’t matter but it did matter. Sothing unsaid was lingering in the air between us thick and heavy.

With a slightly sharp voice, she said and rolled her eyes.

"I’m not hiding anything." She tried to touch my arm but I moved back. "You are just tired."

"I don’t think so," I said in a low voice, and this ti I allowed the words to fully sink in. If she didn’t want to discuss it I had to force her.

I wanted to laugh at how absurd the whole situation was, of how she thought that I was nothing but a fool.

"But I told her to tell the manager that I was with soone so important and I won’t be coming to work.".

I knew that she could do sothing like this, I already knew she was a slut but what I can’t place my fingers on was who had brought her to Daniel or where Daniel had seen her.

"Who the hell are you?" I growled, she looked up at to play those gas again but she froze imdiately.
