Faint starlight danced upon Li Zijun's visage. Beads of water clung to the strands of hair on her forehead, dripping down to her collarbone.

Her wet clothes clung to her body, outlining her delicate and well-proportioned figure, making her appear almost nude. Her jade arms bent lightly, her enchanting pose fully revealed.

With her bare hands, she gently gathered her water-drenched hair behind her head. The water soaked her robe, sketching out the perfect contours of her body as she glanced sowhat embarrassedly at Ji Nanjue.

The clothes she hadn't fully removed now clung to her tender body, faintly revealing flesh tones. Her usually loose robe had not revealed much, but now, it was as if the true appearance of Mount Lu was finally unveiled.

Ji Nanjue seed slightly surprised as she watched her. Then, she curled the corner of her mouth and spoke teasingly, "It's no wonder teacher and disciple are cut from the sa cloth, even when it cos to lying...

"Nevermind. If you want to call 'sister,' go ahead. That other title, 'Master's Wife,' sounds rather old-fashioned, anyway."

Beneath the water's surface, Li Zijun's jade legs gently stirred, creating ripples and several splashes.

Then, with a light push of her jade arms, she stood up without a stitch on. The water barely reached above her thighs, exposing half of her slim waist—slender and flat, without an ounce of excess flesh.

"Take off your clothes," Ji Nanjue said. "You can't bathe while wearing them, can you?"

On this journey, Li Zijun had been wearing the sa robe for who knows how long, although it was not stained at all.

Li Zijun shyly peeled the robe from her body, placing it on the shore before swiftly sitting down in the pool, hiding herself completely.

Ji Nanjue didn't laugh at her but sat down beside her instead.

The air was sowhat oppressive; the period before rain always felt exceptionally restless.

Ji Nanjue's small hands gently lifted the water, letting it splash down as she suddenly spoke, "You've only seen him a few tis. Are you so certain of your feelings already?"

"It's normal for a person of your age to have soone they admire, but your behavior doesn't seem like that of soone impulsive."

"I'm very curious. Could you share your thoughts?"

Pausing for a mont, feeling her question was indeed rather tricky, Ji Nanjue added with a smile, "Of course, it's alright if you don't want to speak of it..."

As she spoke, her eyes were fixed upon Li Zijun.

"Thoughts, huh?"

Li Zijun gently pursed her lips, not looking at Ji Nanjue, but murmuring softly.

Gazing at the sowhat gloomy pool water, she pondered for a mont and whispered, "Does falling for soone necessarily require reasons?"

"Isn't it that at so point, because of sothing that touches the deepest part of your heart, soone unknowingly begins to dwell in your heart?"

"Maybe just a glance, just a gesture."

Ji Nanjue was startled for a mont. Li Zijun's voice sounded sowhat sorrowful; her tone was soft, but for so reason, her words carried an air of lancholy.

Ji Nanjue then drew her tightly into her embrace, resting her cheek against Li Zijun's. "Love at first sight?"

Perhaps previously, Ji Nanjue would have scoffed at the notion, dismissing it as re folly. For two people to decide on their feelings with a single look could imply only one thing: lust for beauty. But now her heart had gradually co to accept this concept. Her life and Su Bei's always seed to rge together unintentionally. That ti when they returned from death's door, the emotions shared from the camaraderie of surviving hardship together were naturally profound. Perhaps even before that night, her own heart had already been imprinted with his shadow, but her long-sealed heart had never admitted it.

"That makes sense," Li Zijun said with a wry smile, realizing she had been misunderstood.

Her affection for Su Bei was not as casually depicted as that; it had taken nearly a century of tempering before she confird her feelings.

"Sister Nan Ji, Zi Jun is feeling a bit cold..." Li Zijun said, hugging her arms lightly and blinking at Ji Nanjue.

"Go on back then," Ji Nanjue replied. "Sh... Sister will stay here alone for a while."

Ji Nanjue then smiled warmly at her, her heart feeling complicated.

After all, she was a woman. Even though she knew she and Su Bei would never have a publicly acknowledged future, she still felt aversion towards any woman who wanted to share his affection. Moreover, this woman was his disciple... Ethically and emotionally, it felt utterly improper. A sowhat bizarre thought crossed Ji Nanjue's mind: his disciple, her master... with herself in between? What a complex relationship... three generations under one roof, so it seed. It's all Su Dudu's fault. There's no right or wrong in love, but if one must be blad, it all stems from that fickle heartbreaker. If he hadn't left affections everywhere and stirred emotions without care, how could he have incurred such a multitude of emotional debts?

—He must have felt pleased...

Li Zijun waved her hand in front of Ji Nanjue a few tis. Ji Nanjue ca to her senses, playfully pinched Li Zijun's delicate nose, and laughed. "You've worn that dress for too long. If you don't mind, wear my dress for now."

She motioned towards the white gauze dress on the shore.

Li Zijun blinked, then smiled sweetly at Ji Nanjue.

Rustling softly, she slipped on the dress and walked towards the Daoist Temple.

As Ji Nanjue watched Li Zijun's departing figure, she sighed softly.
