Blazing flas roared fiercely.

The towering firelight illuminated the faces of the fanatic believers.

It also lit up Miles’s face, filled with terror and disbelief.

Screams of agony pierced the air.

The priest hanging on the cross was engulfed by the flas, twisting and struggling.

Miles could not empathize with the priest.

He didn’t know if the priest, who had always believed that rising from fire would make him a deity, felt any regret at this mont.

This was the "witness."

Here.

In this place filled with horror and cruelty, the priest thought that the suddenly arriving Miles was an apostle sent by God and made him a witness to the process of "becoming a deity."

The terrifying absurdity haunted Miles.

Perhaps, to ordinary people, this night of twisted bloodlines was just a pretend ga believed by the ntally ill.

If it weren’t for Murkoff.

They should have received better treatnt.

And now, I need to expose the ugly truth here.

At this mont, a thick stack of evidence was already stored in his notebook.

The DV cara in his hand also recorded this cruel and terrifying night in real ti.

The truth must be revealed.

The priest’s screams had ceased.

Whether he truly beca a god or not, at least his soul was freed at this mont.

Miles picked up the elevator key the priest had prepared for him.

Outside the door, the Hale brothers, who had once relentlessly pursued him, opened the church’s gate under the priest’s instruction.

He "witnessed" the priest’s release.

He also "witnessed" the evil within this hospital.

It was ti for him to leave.

Creak—click!

Pulling the old elevator’s gate door shut, Miles took the elevator down.

Blood dripped between his hands, droplets rolling over the DV cara, then falling onto the floor.

The elevator creaked slowly as it arrived at the first floor.

However.

The gate did not open.

After a brief pause, the elevator continued descending!

“What is this...?”

At this mont, Miles panicked slightly.

But more than that, he steeled himself and prepared to run.

He had been through too much this night. Before escaping Mountain ntal Hospital, he could not afford a mont’s relaxation.

Creak—click!

Finally!

The elevator reached the deepest part of the hospital.

Stepping out and pushing open the door, an incredible whisper escaped Miles’s lips: “Ward…er.”

The long underground corridor was pure white!

Under the spread of lights, it was brightly lit, like broad daylight.

Various experintal supplies and dicine barrels were piled up ssily.

At the end of the corridor, on the electric door, the huge Murkoff Corporation logo was printed.

Here was the ultimate secret of Mountain ntal Hospital—

A cruel research institute built underground.

Step, step, step, step step step step...

Miles ran again, as he had all night.

Leaping over supplies, passing through the electric door, his agile steps splashed small puddles of blood!

But the next second!

Whoosh—!

Bang!

Miles, running without any gap, was suddenly struck heavily on the head!

The massive impact felt like crashing into a big truck head-on, directly flipping him and throwing him heavily onto the ground!

Miles clearly heard a crisp cracking sound—he didn’t know if it was his leg bone breaking.

Struggling, he moved on the ground twice, then raised the DV and turned on night vision.

In the pure white corridor, a black misty figure floated before him.

Walrider!

Run!

Ignoring the pain, Miles panted violently, scrambled up, and ran back!

But before he could reach the electric door!

Boom!

A thick arm smashed through the electric door and grabbed him up!

“Little pig, little pig, here I am... I can... sll you...”

The terrifying fat man who had been hunting him all along had actually followed him here!

“Ugh ugh... cough... ugh...”

As the fat man’s hand around his throat tightened, suffocation made Miles’s struggles weaker and weaker.

But the next second!

Whoosh—bang!!!

Miles felt his throat suddenly loosen!

His body thudded to the ground.

In a daze!

He saw the fat man suddenly fly into the air.

As if grabbed by an invisible force, he was swung violently onto the floor like a ragdoll!

Bang! Bang!

Thud!

Blood sprayed everywhere!

The fat man’s roar echoed through the corridor, but it was just impotent rage!

Because on the DV, Miles clearly saw that the fat man was being grabbed by Walrider, treated like a chicken, brutally beaten and thrown, finally snapped neck with a crack!

No one could resist Walrider!

“Huff—huff—huff—”

Miles barely supported himself against the wall and stood up again.

He couldn’t stay here long.

While Walrider dealt with the fat man, he had to quickly find an exit.

Passing through the white corridor, pushing open a heavy alloy door on the left, a spacious office with massive blast-proof glass appeared before him.

At this mont, the blast-proof glass was covered in bloodstains.

This was not the exit I was looking for.

However!

Just as he turned to leave!

An old voice suddenly sounded in the office!

“I know… I know I should have died long ago, but my luck is good… I have lived longer than the evil.”

Soone?!

Oh no!

More accurately, a normal person!

Thud!

Miles heard a sound coming from behind the glass, staggered, and rushed to the glass, wiping the bloodstains with his sleeve.

Through the faint crimson blood marks, inside the blast-proof glass, an elderly old man sat in a wheelchair, speaking to him:

“Billy regards as his father, so… now I am the only one left.”

Billy?

Hiss—

Miles had an impression.

In Experint No. 179, the “Walrider Project” ntioned this na.

According to the report, Billy was the only patient compatible with Walrider.

Click.

Unobtrusively, Miles quietly aid the DV cara at the old man in the glass room.

He saw the old man driving his wheelchair slowly to the wall bearing the Murkoff Corporation logo, then looking up:

“The warning of nanotechnology—that is the aning of the Murkoff Corporation’s logo.”

“Microscopic nanorobots—this technology existed decades ago, but we never fully mastered it,”

“Until a few years ago, after massive research, we overca the technical difficulties,”

“We used human cells as nanofactories. Since cells inherently produce atoms, this allowed us to use mind-body therapy to control the body with the mind.”

Mind-body therapy?

Pfft.

Miles scoffed inwardly.

The so-called ‘mind-body therapy’ was to conduct cruel human experints, subjecting the recipients to near-death physical torture and extre psychological tornt, ultimately breaking them down completely inside and out.

Thus.

Murkoff could harvest a perfect ‘ghost’—a humanoid self-operating violent weapon composed of microscopic nanorobots.

“But the result… as you can see,”

The old man sighed,

“We were wrong. We used the ntally ill to create a powerful weapon that was hard to control,”

“We must stop it, kill Billy, cut off his life support, and fix the mistake,”

“As long as he lives, no one can leave here.”

After hearing the old man’s words, Miles was silent for a long ti.

“You will receive your judgnt.”

No doubt!

Now, the source of all the tragedies in Mountain ntal Hospital was this old man in the wheelchair who had lived longer than the evil.

As a reporter, he had no right to judge anyone.

But as a reporter, he had the duty and must expose Murkoff’s cris to the public.

Give the innocent an explanation, let the evil receive their due punishnt.

Even if my body is broken now, even if I am on the verge of collapse.

I must escape this place.

For the truth, I will stop at nothing!

Wuu—!!!

Wuu—!!!

Wuu—!!!

With the alarms of the underground research institute blaring everywhere!

The final escape had begun!

Bang!

Miles took a step again!

Just like when he first entered Mountain ntal Hospital, he ran with all his might!

Pushing open the door opposite the office, the experintal site suddenly appeared!

A life support facility two stories high stood in the center of the site, surrounded by six small glass pod chambers!

All five pods were empty except for one near the entrance, which held a fixed-up emaciated patient!

This person was covered with tubes maintaining vital signs, eyes wide open, expressionless, fixed in an extrely twisted posture inside the glass pod!

This was Billy, the carrier of the nanotech ‘ghost’ Walrider!

And at this mont!

Billy seed to realize that Miles was going to kill him, so he controlled Walrider to launch a frantic chase after Miles!

Bang!!!

Miles’s body flew into the air and slamd heavily onto the ground again!

But he didn’t care about the pain at all, clutching the cara tightly, he got up and ran toward the supply warehouse!

The institute’s alarms blared loudly!

Behind him, the enraged Walrider emitted a rustling, demon-like whispering roar!

Step step step step step—

Thud thud crash bang—

Miles dashed through huge nutrient tanks, crossed bright yellow railings, climbed over ssy supplies, his footsteps swift on the heavy iron plates!

Behind him!

Walrider pursued relentlessly, drifting past the tanks, through the railings, flinging supplies, the terrifying inhuman roar ringing in his ears!

Squeak—crack!

Struggling to twist the nutrient supply valve on the second-floor control panel, Miles heard Walrider roar behind him!

Looking back!

He saw Walrider charging in the DV cara’s viewfinder!

Bang!

“Ah—!!!”

A scream!

A head-on strike sent Miles flying out of the control panel railing!

Fortunately, he was quick!

As he fell, he grabbed the railing!

Dangling in midair, Miles swayed precariously!

Blood gushed from his severed fingers, making it harder to hold on!

“Damn it... damn it...!!!”

Taking a deep breath!

Miles steeled his heart!

Huff!

With no way back, he had to jump down from the second-floor control panel!

Thud! Crack!

“Ugh aaahhh fuck! Fuck!!!”

The crack and sharp pain from his leg bone made him scream miserably.

He barely got up, dragging a broken leg toward another supply valve!

Fortunately!

With one supply valve shut off, Walrider seed affected, the chase slowed slightly.

Shutting off the second supply valve!

Walrider behind him seed near collapse, moving slower and flickering in and out of sight!

Victory was near!

Struggling back to the experintal site!

Miles pulled himself up using the railing, supporting his body, and climbed to the top of the facility in the center of the site.

As long as he pulled out the main power here and pressed the button, Billy would be completely killed!

Bang! Bang! Bang!

He smashed open the electrical box door with his elbow!

Miles shakily reached out with his broken hand and grabbed the main power cord, then gave a hard pull!

Spark!

“Success...”

Hum—bang!!!

Before he finished speaking!

Suddenly!

A great force struck!

Miles felt sharp pain in his ribs!

His whole body was flung from the top of the facility!

At this mont!

Ti seed to slow down.

Whether illusion or not, Miles felt he could see Walrider even without the DV cara.

It looked like a skull wrapped in black mist, now right before him, one hand raised high, claws slashing down at him—

Whoosh—bang!!!

Like a kite with a broken string!

With a loud crash!

Miles fell from the top of the facility, smashing hard onto the concrete floor!

His head buzzed!

His throat tightened; he opened his mouth and spat a mouthful of blood!

Everything blurred, ringing noise filled his ears, breathing felt blocked, unable to inhale air or exhale the stale breath.

Hum—clang!

His body was swung against the railing.

Hum—thud!

His body was slamd onto the floor.

Hum—clang!

His body was thrown beside the main control desk.

His head struck the corner of the control desk heavily, blood blurring his vision.

Miles curled up, covered in blood, his body broken.

But only clutched the cara tightly in his arms.

“Huff—ugh—huff—”

His labored breathing echoed.

Inside the huge experintal site, alarms sounded urgently.

Not far away.

Walrider charged again, preparing to deliver a fatal blow to Miles.

But at this mont!

A hand appeared on the control panel.

A hand covered in scalding fresh blood.

A hand missing the ring finger.

A hand hovering over the main control button.

It was the fearless reporter Miles Upshur’s hand.

NOOOOOOOO—!!!

At this mont!

Walrider emitted a roar like a human’s!

Then!

Slap!!!

Miles’s hand forcefully pressed the main control button!

A muffled bang followed!

Billy inside the glass pod instantly turned into a cloud of blood mist, and Walrider, who was about to reach Miles, vanished in an instant!!!

Finally… it was over…

At this mont, Miles was almost unconscious, dragging his broken body out the door by sheer willpower.

Falling.

Standing up.

Falling again.

Standing up again.

The blue door was right in front of him.

Miles reached out to open it.

But at this mont!

Bang!

The door was pushed open from outside.

A team of fully ard soldiers appeared outside.

At the center was the old man in the wheelchair.

“Thank you, child, for solving this crisis for ,”

The old man smiled faintly, a sinister gleam flashing in his eyes:

“But now, you have beco the crisis.”

With that said!

The old man waved his hand!

Click!

The dark gun barrels all pointed at Miles!

The next second!

Bang!!!
