The sun rose lazily over the horizon, stretching golden tendrils of light across the academy grounds as if brushing them gently awake from their slumber.

Birds chirped above the swaying trees, their lodies harmonizing with the rustling of the morning breeze that weaved through the open courtyards like an invisible dancer.

On the surface, it seed like any other ordinary day—students shuffling into classrooms, instructors barking early orders, and the familiar rhythm of footsteps echoing through the tiled hallways.

But beneath the serene surface, a shift lingered—subtle, elusive, and most of all... troubling.

Alex felt it in his chest.

A hollow ache, like a song missing its final note.

He sat at the edge of his bed that morning, staring at the floor with a furrowed brow.

The events of the previous day looped in his mind like a haunting lody without resolution.

He couldn’t put his finger on it, but sothing—sothing important—had slipped through his grasp.

The sensation gnawed at his thoughts like a silent thief, leaving only a shadow of unease behind.

Did I miss an opportunity?

Was it a mistake I didn’t see coming?

He sighed, brushing his tousled hair back with a restless hand.

The walls of his dorm felt narrower than usual, as if the very air around him was compressing, trying to suffocate his ambition.

Forget it, he thought, forcing a smirk onto his face. No point in brooding. I’m Alex. There’s nothing I can’t fix with charm and confidence.

He donned his usual academy uniform, adjusted his collar, and stepped into the hallway.

The mont his boots hit the stone floor, he was greeted with a flurry of motion.

The corridors buzzed with energy—students hurrying past, whispering excitedly, glancing toward the central hallway that led to the main courtyard.

Their eyes sparkled with curiosity and wonder, and even the air seed thicker with anticipation.

Alex’s brow quirked as he watched the unexpected commotion unfold.

"What the hell’s going on?" he muttered to himself.

A group of younger students sprinted past him like startled deer, wide-eyed and breathless. With a sharp voice, Alex halted one of them by grabbing his shoulder lightly.

"Hey, you," he said, raising an eyebrow, "why’s everyone running around like headless chickens?"

The boy, panting and flushed with excitent, barely spared Alex a glance. "A new girl joined the academy today! She’s... she’s super beautiful!"

And with that, the boy dashed away, vanishing around the corner like a gust of wind.

For a mont, Alex stood frozen.

His heart, which only minutes ago had been shackled in doubt, suddenly fluttered with a mix of curiosity and thrill.

Like a moth drawn to a fla, he felt the stirrings of conquest rising within him.

He straightened his back, smoothed his shirt, and allowed a cocky grin to spread across his face.

"A new beauty, huh?" he muttered to himself. "Ti for the great Alex to make an unforgettable first impression."

The corridor buzzed louder now, like a beehive stirred from within.

He moved with swift purpose, weaving past clusters of students with the grace of a noble on a mission.

The flicker of doubt that had plagued him earlier faded into the background, consud by the thrill of a new pursuit.

This is the perfect distraction, he thought.

No, not just a distraction. An opportunity.

As he turned the corner toward the courtyard, his stride ca to an abrupt halt.

Across the marble benches in the courtyard, shaded by the arching shadow of a cherry blossom tree, sat Leo.

The ever-composed figure leaned back against the bench with one arm resting lazily along the backrest, a straw lodged between his lips as he sipped calmly from a carton of chilled fruit juice.

His lightly ssy hair glinted under the sunlight, and his expression held that familiar indifference—calm, collected, and maddeningly unbothered.

Alex’s nose twitched in annoyance.

He sneered inwardly.

So what if you have power, Leo? So what if you have status and fa?

Winning a girl’s heart is a battlefield of wits and charm, not brute force or pedigree. And that battlefield... that’s where I reign supre.

A sly chuckle escaped his lips as he resud his stride, this ti with a lody humming on his tongue—one of self-confidence and arrogant triumph. He tilted his chin upward and strutted forward like a king returning to his palace.

He barely noticed the shifting whispers in the air, the turning of heads, the building tension in the corridor ahead.

Sothing was about to happen—sothing he hadn’t expected.

Sothing that would once again shake the very rhythm of his heart.

As Alex stepped closer to the main corridor, the excited murmurs around him crescendoed into a wave of awe.

Students parted like a sea, their gazes magnetized toward the hallway’s heart—where a single figure walked with poise, as if the very world bent to the rhythm of her footsteps.

And then he saw her.

Ti froze.

Wind swept through the open hall, catching strands of her golden hair like threads of sunlight dancing in the breeze.

Each strand shimred like woven rays of dawn, cascading over her shoulders and framing her face like a golden waterfall carved by the heavens themselves.

Her face—oh, that face—it was not rely beautiful, it was sculpted with elegance that transcended youth.

A mature, regal allure softened her expressions, making her look less like a student and more like a noblewoman stepping out of a dream spun by the gods.

Her eyes shimred like twin topaz gems, clear and bright, holding depth and mystery within their glowing irises.

She moved with the grace of a silken leaf caught in a gentle current—effortless, fluid, captivating.

Her crimson dress clung to her curves like a masterpiece painted in motion.

The skirt swayed lightly with every step, revealing the long, toned perfection of her legs.

Black stockings hugged her calves with striking contrast, and her heels clicked softly against the polished floor, like whispers of power dressed in elegance.

Alex’s breath hitched.

His heartbeat thudded like war drums in his chest.

His pupils dilated, his throat ran dry, and for a brief mont, he forgot his own na.

Who... is she?

A student near him, lost in the sa trance, murmured the answer aloud, as though speaking divine revelation:

"Her na is Roxanne Bladecrest."

The words struck Alex like a bolt of thunder.

His smirk wavered.

His entire body went still.

Bladecrest...?

That na was not unfamiliar. No—he knew it all too well. It echoed in his mories like a storm from the past.

He clenched his fist slightly, hiding it behind his back as he stood silently among the crowd.

The Bladecrest family.

The very bloodline he was born into.

But unlike the pampered nobles and heirs, Alex had been nothing more than a discarded shadow—a forgotten orphan left with scraps.

All he had were a few dusty manuals, so ager inheritance from his mother, and the cold whispers of what might’ve been if fate had been kinder.

To him, the Bladecrest family represented abandonnt, neglect, and scorn.

And yet here she was.

A golden phoenix draped in nobility.

Roxanne Bladecrest... he repeated inwardly, trying to steady the roaring tide in his chest.

Then the student beside him added sothing more—words that spun a different tale entirely.

"She’s the new princess of the Bladecrest family. Apparently, there’s a new family head, and her father’s the one in charge now."

That piece of news flipped sothing in Alex’s heart.

A spark ignited.

From the ashes of his pain and pride, sothing new began to stir—sothing strategic.

If I can win her over...

If I can charm her and make her fall for ...

Then the Bladecrest family... no, the very foundation they stand on, could be mine.

He envisioned it all—the influence, the power, the resources. A personal army to challenge Leo.

A noble na restored to glory beneath his command. All of it, crystallized in the form of the radiant girl walking toward him.

His eyes dropped to her figure once more.

Her flawless posture. Her commanding stride.

The gentle arch of her back as she turned her head slightly, lips forming a polite smile to those around her.

The soft sway of her hips. Her elegance wasn’t just appearance—it was presence. Like a queen descending from her throne, unaware that she was already worshipped with every step.

Alex felt his thoughts spiral into sothing darker—obsessive even.

Such a beauty... she’s only worthy of soone like .

And then, just beside her, Alex noticed another figure.

Soone less dazzling, but no less significant.

A boy, walking beside her with wary, alert eyes.

His movents were sharp, cautious, as if he were constantly expecting danger to erge from every corner of the academy.

His hands twitched near his belt, ready to unsheathe his weapon at a mont’s notice.

He walked not as a friend, but as a bodyguard.

Alex narrowed his eyes.

He recognized him instantly.

Rio Bladecrest.

Her brother.

Alex rembered the rumors—Rio was overly protective, fiercely loyal to his sister, and a rciless guardian when it ca to anyone approaching her with bad intentions.

His presence was like a thorn-laced barrier wrapped around a rose.

Roxanne, perhaps noticing his stern posture, let out a soft sigh, subtle and delicate.

She glanced at him from the corner of her eye and smiled faintly, as if to say, You’re being too much again.

Rio’s jaw flexed but said nothing.

Her heart, however, was elsewhere.

She wasn’t just walking for show. No.

Roxanne’s thoughts danced with excitent, her heartbeat playing a secret rhythm beneath her calm façade.

I wonder what kind of face Leo will make when he sees ?

That single thought was a firework in her mind, and the idea of surprising him, of appearing before him when he least expected it, brought a radiant joy to her heart.

She looked ahead again, golden hair catching in the wind, her red dress flaring softly like a fla that refused to be tad.

She was ready.

Alex, standing in the crowd, had no idea his dreams were about to collide with reality.

And reality didn’t play fair.
