In the end, Lin Jiang gave in.

He went and bought pads for Liang Shuhuo.

To Lin Jiang, it wasn’t a big deal. It was the 21st century, and everyone was used to this sort of thing.

"Thank you so much."

Liang Shuhuo thanked him and reached for them, but Lin Jiang didn’t hand them over.

"Want them?"

Looking at Lin Jiang, Liang Shuhuo paused for a few seconds before saying softly, "I do."

!?

’I was just trying to tease you. How did it end up like this?’

Liang Shuhuo froze for a mont, realizing the double aning of her words.

However, she didn’t blush and act shy like other won. Instead, she covered her face and burst out laughing.

But a hint of indescribable coyness still filled her eyes.

"Oh, stop ssing around. If we wait any longer, I’ll really have an accident and need to buy new pants."

"Alright."

This really wasn’t sothing to joke about. After one last tease, Lin Jiang handed the package to her.

When she returned, Liang Shuhuo was radiant, as if she’d had a narrow escape from death.

"So, do you still want it?"

Liang Shuhuo twitched her delicate little nose.

"I’m satisfied now. I don’t need it anymore."

"Didn’t soone say sothing just now? I seem to recall an offer to let check for nodules myself."

"Oh, you’re so naughty."

Liang Shuhuo didn’t get angry at Lin Jiang’s teasing. "Try this boiled fish. It’s their house specialty and it’s delicious."

Lin Jiang smiled. That was far enough. If he kept going, he’d just sound like a dirty old man.

’Maintaining my class is important, after all.’

After dinner, Lin Jiang drove Liang Shuhuo ho before heading back to his own place.

He had just parked in the underground garage when he received a ssage from Liang Shuhuo.

Liang Shuhuo: "Ho yet?"

Lin Jiang: "Just got here."

Liang Shuhuo: "I know it’s a little late, but I wanted to say thank you again. [smile.jpg]"

Lin Jiang: "It was nothing, don’t worry about it. Just rember to tell next ti you’re ’wanting,’ and I’ll give it to you again."

Liang Shuhuo: "Teasing an innocent young lady is against the law, you know, Mister~~~"

Lin Jiang stroked his chin. ’Interesting.’

Lin Jiang: "I like the sound of that. Say it again."

Liang Shuhuo: "Mister~~~"

Liang Shuhuo: "How’s that? [snicker.jpg]"

Lin Jiang: "Nope. There’s no feeling in text. It’s too stiff."

Liang Shuhuo: [2-second voice ssage]

Lin Jiang: "You sound like a robot with no emotions."

Liang Shuhuo: [3-second voice ssage]

HOLY SHIT!

’That’s so damn provocative.’

Liang Shuhuo: "Satisfied now? [snicker.jpg]"

Lin Jiang frowned slightly. ’Now is definitely not the ti to act all cool and aloof.’

’If you back down, the enemy advances.’

Lin Jiang: "How is anyone supposed to sleep after that?"

Liang Shuhuo: [2-second voice ssage]

Liang Shuhuo: [12-second voice ssage]

Liang Shuhuo: [7-second voice ssage]

Lin Jiang: "Whoa there, whoa there. We’re both respectable people."

Liang Shuhuo: "I’m just an ordinary woman. I don’t have any status. [wicked_grin.jpg]"

Lin Jiang: "You’re a ’cucumber’ maiden, not an ordinary woman."

Liang Shuhuo: "What’s all this about cucumbers and eggplants? I’m not a chef."

’Damn, girl, you really get it.’

Lin Jiang: "My computer is clean. If you keep this up, I really won’t be able to get any sleep."

Liang Shuhuo: "But you’re the one who asked to..."

’Seeing her use that kind of tone, Lin Jiang felt their relationship was starting to beco less than innocent.’

Lin Jiang: "I asked you to call ’Mister,’ not ’Misterrr...’ And I definitely didn’t tell you to drag it out like that."

Liang Shuhuo: "If I just call you ’Mister,’ it makes feel like you’re so kind of tomb raider. Besides, don’t you think ’Misterrr’ sounds nice? All guys like it, don’t they?"

Lin Jiang: "I an, I like it, but it’s not fair if you’re only handling the ’pre-sale’ and not the ’after-sale service.’"

Liang Shuhuo: "Haha, I’ll definitely take care of the after-sale service for my interior designs. Any other kind of ’after-sale service’ is not my departnt!"

Lin Jiang sent back a laughing emoji and didn’t press the topic further, nor did he start a new one.

’After all, it was just their first dinner together. She wasn’t actually going to provide any ’after-sale service.’’

’You can’t force a fish that isn’t biting. It’s better to just let it run with the line for a while.’

Lin Jiang set his phone aside and went to the bathroom to take a shower.

’Even though Liang Shuhuo was a new NPC, based on their dinner and the chat they just had, Lin Jiang had a hunch. If he really put in the effort, he could probably raise her Affinity very quickly.’

’But for now, he should still focus on Chen Jingxian and Li Zhiyi. After all, they were both at 70 points. With just a little more effort, the main quest would trigger.’

’On top of that, there was the matter of his investnts.’

’This 25 million was useless sitting in his hands; he had to find an opportunity to invest it.’

’Whether he made a profit or took a loss was entirely up to fate. He had no experience in this field, after all.’

BZZZ BZZZ BZZZ—

Just as he was pondering these things, Lin Jiang’s phone buzzed. It was a ssage from Xu Lin.

Xu Lin: "You back?"

’Seeing the ssage, Lin Jiang guessed that Xu Lin must have co over while he was out.’

Instead of replying directly, Lin Jiang lay down on the sofa, took a selfie of his thigh, and sent it to Xu Lin.

Xu Lin: "Leave the door unlocked for ."

’The ’after-sale service’ has arrived.’

He left the door cracked open and set out a pair of slippers for her.

Before long, Xu Lin pushed the door open. She was wearing her cotton nightdress and carrying a plate of fruit.

"Isn’t Xuanxuan ho?"

"He’s asleep," she said. "I got bored, so I ca over to hang out."

Xu Lin slipped on the slippers as if it were her own ho, placed the fruit on the coffee table, and sat down on the sofa.

"You certainly make yourself at ho. Anyone who didn’t know better would think you were single."
