School, library.

Xu Musen arrived carrying milk tea and sat down in front of Yao Mingyue.

Today, he was tasked by Nuannuan to invite Yao Mingyue over to their house for dinner.

However, for so reason, Yao Mingyue, who would normally greet him with a smile, now rely glanced at him indifferently.

"Is sothing wrong?"

Xu Musen was taken aback. What was the little sickly cutie plotting this ti?

"Can't I just sit here if there's nothing wrong?" Xu Musen said, echoing the words Yao Mingyue would usually say.

A phrase like "I'm your god sister, after all~" would typically follow.

When he said this, Xu Musen could feel the grievance usually present in Yao Mingyue's words.

Listening to his statent with its undertone of defeat, Yao Mingyue actually felt a bit better, yet she responded sarcastically, "Boss Xu is busy, right? Always so busy dealing with his little girlfriend at ho, when would he have ti to sit around in the library?"

Xu Musen shook his head with a smile. That tone of jealousy was just right.

This was the sickly cutie he knew.

"I don't have ti to sit around leisurely, I ca specifically to invite you over for dinner."

"Your place? Dinner?"

Yao Mingyue twirled her pen, her tone rather deep: "Would your little girlfriend be happy with that?"

"Isn't it normal for to invite my dear sister over for dinner?"

Xu Musen used her usual words against her.

Yao Mingyue chuckled, and with a light jab of her pen to Xu Musen's chest, she said, "Don't you feel guilty saying that?"

"You and I are innocent, childhood friends, definitely pure friendship."

Xu Musen said earnestly.

"Pure friendship?"

Yao Mingyue fiddled with the pen in her hand slowly, that motion...

Xu Musen subconsciously shifted his legs.

Yao Mingyue slightly curved her lips as if she had vented her anger.

She looked at Xu Musen: "She wouldn't mind coming over for dinner?"

"I still have so status in the family."

"Heh... spineless mutt."

"??"

Xu Musen, watching Yao Mingyue roll her eyes, seed to recall the fearful dominance she had over him in his past life.

Indeed, in his past life, he was nothing but a spineless little dog in front of Yao Mingyue.

Xu Musen dropped the act and said, "Alright, actually, Nuannuan found out you sent furniture, so she told to invite you over for dinner as a thank you."

Yao Mingyue looked at him for a while; although she had guessed it, she was still sowhat angry.

What did that an? If Nuannuan hadn't ntioned it, would he never have taken the initiative to invite her over for dinner?

And besides, An Nuannuan's invitation for dinner was clearly a show-off trap, likely ant to flaunt her status as the "lady of the house," right?

Biting her lip, Yao Mingyue snatched the milk tea from in front of Xu Musen: "If she hadn't invited , would you have never actively invited to your cozy little ho for dinner?"

Xu Musen then shook his head and chuckled: "If I don't invite you, would you stop freeloading als?"

As it happened, the first al in his new ho was shared just between the two of them.

In so sense, that first ti was indeed smoothly claid by Yao Mingyue.

Thinking this, a certain girl, whose heart had been crushed by jealousy, finally felt a bit better, as if she had finally gained a point.

Only then did she insert the straw into the milk tea and take a sip, regaining her aloof deanor: "Do I have to go just because you invited ?"

"If you don't want to go, forget it, I'll save a pair of chopsticks."

Xu Musen didn't indulge her and stood up to leave.

But the next mont, a tapioca pearl shot out of the straw and landed directly on Xu Musen's face.

It even stuck to his face, and Xu Musen picked it off.

"What are you, a pea shooter?"

Xu Musen was bemused; it was the first ti he had encountered such a hidden weapon.

Yao Mingyue giggled: "Serves you right! That's for deliberately angering ."

"Crazy, I invited you, and you're the one who didn't want to go." Xu Musen's eyelid twitched.

Yao Mingyue bit on the straw, squinting her eyes as she spoke.

"What, if your little girlfriend says no, will you really let her decide?"

"..."

What a pointed remark!

Xu Musen was at a loss for words; looking at Yao Mingyue, he realized that if it had been the past, he would have walked away without looking back.

But now, the first thing that ca to his mind was to mollify her.

Just like in his previous life.

"Alright, I also bought so chicken wings today, planning to cook so cola chicken wings."

Yao Mingyue had a picky palate but always loved cola chicken wings.

Her fondness for this dish was a secret shared only between their two families.

Sure enough, Yao Mingyue's eyes lit up.

Not because of the cola chicken wings, but because Xu Musen still rembered what she liked to eat.

But thinking of yesterday's events made her heart feel clogged again; forgiving him so quickly was not an option.

She took another gulp of her milk tea.

"It's just cola chicken wings, I could eat that at any roadside stall..."

"But roadside stalls definitely won't have the special recipe that uses one-fourth Pepsi, three-fourths Coca-Cola, plus a little bit of Sprite. I guess I'm the only one in the world who knows how to make it now, right?"

Xu Musen said with a smile as he watched her.

This recipe, after all, was sothing Yao Mingyue had co up with years ago.

After the car accident, Yao Mingyue had been down for quite a long ti, and it took slow coaxing from both families before she began to shift her attention.

Such as playing with Barbie dolls, learning to play the piano, or following Mother Xu in cooking...

And the first dish Yao Mingyue ever concocted on her own was cola chicken wings, which she adored though she had absolutely no talent in cooking.
