The Dragon’s Treasure (1)
Countless islands were scattered outside the Luosi District.
The waterways were complicated and rarely accessed by people.
The rcenary’s base camp was located on one of these islands.
The sll in the air was intense and complex like cold tal and hot smoke mixed with the scent of blood.
The sounds of vulgar curses and laughter resounded in the surrounding tents.
A small group of wretched-looking rcenaries was making their way inside.
So of them had been wounded, their faces bruised and grim while a black-robed man who looked out of place in the surroundings followed at the end of the squad.
Nurous unkind eyes were thrown publicly and secretly, falling on the body of this uninvited guest.
However, the black-robed man did not seem to be the least concerned, calmly strolling inward.
The scene before him opened up after passing through the tent and cave.
The cave do was extrely high, with evident artificial traces, and the lights were not flas but shiny gems set in the walls, making this place look more like a palace than a deserted mountain on an uninhabited island.
The rcenaries saluted a man whose appearance was unimpressive in the distance. “Chief.”
The rcenary, called the chief, looked very ordinary, of dium build and diocre appearance as if he would imdiately disappear into the crowd, but no one dared to despise him.
He called himself Xu Feng.
No one knew his real na except for himself.
He had a pair of narrow eyes used to killing. The light under them was cold and cunning. One could not help but feel a creeping chill whenever he looked over.
The rcenaries reported the mission failure in full.
“So, you guys failed? You didn’t get hold of the sword?” Xu Feng narrowed his eyes slightly and said in a calm voice.
Under his gaze, even though they had experienced countless killings, the rcenaries still couldn’t help but feel their scalps tingle.
They resisted the urge to step backward and whispered, “Y-Yes.”
“What about the other mission?”
The rcenaries looked at each other with so hesitation, not knowing how to report to the chief.
At this mont, the black-robed man who had been silent since a mont ago slowly stepped forward, his voice hoarse with a strange kind of coldness. “The mission has been accomplished. At least, it was on my side.”
Xu Feng looked at the black-robed man and a little smile that did not reach the bottom of his eyes lit up his face.
“Is that so? It’s good if the job is done.”
“As the repaynt, I will tell you the dragon’s identity, but…”
The black-robed man paused and said slowly, “It would be useless for you guys to know this information without the weapon.”
A trace of grimness swept across the bottom of Xu Feng’s eyes.
However, the smile on his face grew a little deeper. “Mister, you’re right.”
The rcenary chief walked over.
“I wonder if you have any idea?”
The black-robed man said, “For the sword to be able to hurt the dragon, not a single of the materials and the annex magics are indispensable. The annex magic is very ancient and has been lost now, but…”
Xu Feng stepped forward. “But?”
The black-robed man smiled soundlessly in the shadows. “I can solve this problem.”
Xu Feng narrowed his eyes, covering up the bright light under his eyes.
He rembered the last attack in the Ability Academy, the news of the principal’s assassination, and…
The rumored, mysterious theft.
“The materials are the challenging problem. That ore vein has been severed since ancient tis and buried inside the abyss.”
Xu Feng asked, “What do you an, Mister?”
“We need to open another abyssal rift.”
The black-robed man said, “But its location has to be exceptional. We can only obtain the needed materials if we open it at that fixed place.”
“It’ll be better if you’re willing to help.”
Xu Feng smiled faintly and said softly, “But what do you want in return?”
“You should have learned of the things that happened in the Central District, didn’t you? Our people are fewer than they were before. You have the staff and supplies while we have the related knowledge.”
The black-robed man paused and continued, “Besides, we have other things we want from that abyssal rift. So, this is a mutually beneficial transaction.”
The black-robed man’s voice was hoarse and calm. “And after this transaction is done, you will know the hidden identity of the dragon in the human world.”
The smile on Xu Feng’s face deepened as he asked a question, “So, when are we going?”
The black-robed man chuckled and said, “Now.”

rcenaries never had much integrity or loyalty, but the group in front of them was different.
Those chosen for this operation were rather like die-hard soldiers than rcenaries, not saying a word regardless.
Only one younger-looking rcenary wasn’t determined enough and under the step-by-step pressure of the Bureau mbers, he quickly revealed all that he knew.
But this rcenary was not a high-ranking person, so the information provided was vague and limited.
The only explicit information was the location of the rcenary’s main base camp.
After learning this vital information, the ship quickly changed its direction. The bow broke the waves, followed the wind, and sailed as fast as possible toward the islands on the outer edge of the Luosi District.
This ti, there were no more sneak attacks or blocking ships on the way.
They quickly arrived at their destination.
With the help of the jewel on the rcenary ship that concealed their scent, the boat could not be detected by any radar.
The rcenaries were unprepared and were caught off guard by the sneaking enemy.
It was a one-sided victory.
“… We have seized 20 boats, destroyed 4, and captured 43 rcenaries–” Wen Yao reported.
Mu Heng frowned.
“So few people?”
Wen Yao nodded her head and said, “Yes. It seed that the rcenaries’ main force had left the base before we arrived, only leaving behind a small portion of people, so we were able to take advantage to break in this ti.”
“Interrogate the captives and see if you can get the whereabouts of the dragon’s treasure.”
What?
Treasure?
Shi An caught the keyword and raised his eyes to look in this direction.
Mu Heng took the other party’s reaction into account.
His face remained stoic.
