Seeing this family’s state, Shen Bin had long been accustod to it, or rather, he had accepted it.

When arranging work, he had thought they wouldn’t be so quiet, but he hadn’t expected them to be so reckless or disregard their own dignity, causing such a scene. In Shen Bin’s understanding, they would at least care about their jobs. It turns out he had thought too highly of them.

"I’ve explained everything to the Liu Family. They won’t give you any more trouble. This is also the last ti. If you really don’t like working in the city and want to return to your hotown, that’s fine. Just let them know at the office, and they’ll buy you tickets to go ho." Shen Bin didn’t want to say more and directly made the decision, also telling them that if they kept causing trouble, they could just return to their hotown.

"Binzi, mom knows you’re upset. We were scared the day this happened, and your dad hasn’t been eating these days, worried about causing you trouble. Who would’ve thought this would happen! I’m here to apologize for your dad, don’t hold a grudge against him. Is there really any overnight hatred in a family?" Mrs. Shen looked at her son beseechingly. "Life in the city is so good now. Your dad and I can stroll in the park when we’re free, and your sister and cousin have stable jobs. It’s much better than in the countryside. How can we not like being here?"

"Since you like it, just keep working well. You should be content with this kind of life." Shen Bin replied lightly.

Yet, in his heart, he clearly didn’t trust this family.

"Binzi, you know back in the village when Chun’er got engaged to you, everyone knew. It makes it hard for her to get married, so I was wondering if you could help find soone good for your sister and your cousin. They’re both grown up now and can’t just drag on." Mrs. Shen gently implied to her son.

Shen Bin understood what she ant, "As long as they work well, finding soone isn’t difficult. Don’t worry about it. I will help them look around."

On the kang, Shen’s father, without turning, occasionally twitched his body. Shen Bin could see that he was suppressing his anger; otherwise, with his usual temper, he would have jumped up and scolded him by now. From a young age, whatever Shen Bin did was wrong and warranted scolding. He used to think it was because he was a boy and needed strict upbringing, but after learning he was not their biological child, he realized he had been naive.

anwhile, Shen Chun, sitting on the kang, kept her head down and stayed silent, only looking up sharply at Shen Bin when he ntioned finding her a partner, then imdiately lowered her head again, without further reaction.

"I’m returning to the company tomorrow, so I can’t help you out anymore or keep coming back and forth. You’ll have to manage on your own!" Shen Bin didn’t have much else to say to them, "I will fulfill my duty toward you since you raised , but if any more excessive incidents occur, I won’t interfere again, so weigh your actions carefully in the future!"

He finished speaking without waiting for anyone else to say a word, turned, and strode out of the room. From the doorway, he could still hear Shen’s father’s curses, Mrs. Shen’s low consolations, and Shen Chun’s intermittent crying. Facing such a family, Shen Bin didn’t know what else to do. Maybe he didn’t need to do anything; they would never be satisfied, so doing or not doing was the sa – they’d curse either way, so it might be better to let them be.

"Cousin, you’re here." Shen Bin turned to see Gao Xique standing behind him.

Gao Xique’s face had a blush of embarrassnt, suggesting she’d done sothing and feared Shen Bin would catch her. She cautiously checked his expression and relaxed a bit upon seeing nothing unusual on his face.

Shen Bin could see sothing was off about her expression, but he didn’t want to ddle, so he nodded at Gao Xique and walked away.

When Shen Bin returned ho, he was surprised to see his mother happily chatting with his father. Ye Zhenfen noticed her son’s return and cheerfully waved him over to sit by her side.

Ever since Shen Bin got married, Ye Zhenfen found her relationship with her son had beco much closer, unlike before. She smiled more, and her health improved greatly.

"You ca back just in ti. You’ve been out all day and probably don’t know Lingzi called . She’ll be ho the day after tomorrow. Your dad and I were just discussing moving the study upstairs since she’s pregnant now. Going up and down the stairs isn’t convenient, so we’ll tidy up the study downstairs for her to stay on the first floor."

Shen Bin was evidently stunned by his mother’s words and suddenly rembered what his wife had ntioned over the phone, "Is she coming back alone the day after tomorrow?"

Ye Zhenfen nodded with a smile, "Your father-in-law went back to the countryside to farm, so Lingzi is coming back here alone. Her leave is approved. When she submitted her application, the authorities called your dad. It gave him quite a shock at first."

Recalling this made Ye Zhenfen unable to suppress her smile.

Shen Bin understood that this was indeed an unexpected joy for his parents.

"Then I’ll notify the higher-ups to delay my departure a few days to help set up the house with you." Shen Bin knew his wife must be upset, and this weighed heavily on his mind as he contemplated how he should apologize.

Ye Zhenfen patted her son’s hand, "You don’t need to return to Da XingAn Ridge. The Liu Family’s child had an incident, and after your father’s eting, the decision was made. Those young kids are too inexperienced despite graduating from military school. They decided that soone with your experience would be better, so they reassigned you here."

Shen Bin frowned slightly.

Ye Zhenfen gently reproached him, "Don’t furrow your brows like that. This wasn’t your dad using his connections; it was a formal decision made during the eting. I wanted to tell you once you returned, saving you from overthinking."

With this sudden change, Shen Bin, being steady but surprised, quickly accepted it.

"But you still need to finish the handover of your current work. Prepare over the next few days. After Lingzi returns, you can go back to Da XingAn Ridge to hand over your work and then co back." Mr. Li spoke up from the side.
