Ye Qian sat on the sofa in the living room for a long ti before her mood slowly cald down. She kept telling herself not to panic; the more tense the situation, the more she needed to stay composed. anwhile, the bedroom door was tightly closed, making it impossible to hear what was being said inside.
Inside the bedroom, Wu ngyi pulled up a chair to sit next to the bed, looking at her son who sat on the bed glaring. After a long while, she let out a gentle sigh, "Zhiyuan, Mom knows you’re feeling bad. Anyone would feel bad in this situation, but you have to think positively. With your dad being on top of things, the impact won’t be too great. You should look at the brighter side and also humbly admit your mistakes in front of others. That’s the only way people will see your good character."
"Mom, don’t worry about , I’m fine. It’s just this mont, I’m annoyed by Ye Qian." This was the first ti Liu Zhiyuan said sothing bad about his wife in front of his mother.
Wu ngyi was a very astute woman. She imdiately noticed the difference, but she remained calm and didn’t disturb her son, instead comforting him softly.
"Mom knows you’re frustrated right now, but it’s precisely at this mont that you need to keep your cool. A lot of eyes are on you, and you can’t let them catch even a single fault." Wu ngyi quickly brought out her professional sharpness, "Zhiyuan, rember this: from this mont on, whether you’re back at the company or in everyday life, you’ll encounter many people who will point fingers or discuss you privately. No matter what you hear, don’t argue with them; act like you didn’t hear anything. Got it? As long as your dad and I are here, the sky won’t fall on you. Boldly pursue your work at the company; once you achieve success and stand tall, everyone will look up to you, and no one will rember this small issue anymore."
The determined expression on Wu ngyi’s face slowly dispelled Liu Zhiyuan’s anger. He remained silent, thinking quietly for a while, then he raised his head and nodded firmly.
Seeing her son quickly accepting her advice, Wu ngyi smiled satisfyingly, "I’m relieved that you can see it clearly. As for Ye Qian, Mom knows you’re upset, so I’ll go out later and tell her to go back to her mother’s place first. But you still need to control your temper. Although she made mistakes and it feels uncomfortable for too, she’s still family, and we can’t let outsiders say anything negative about our family."
Wu ngyi was a person who could judge the importance of matters. Although she currently disliked Ye Qian very much, she knew which things were crucial at the mont. Ye Qian’s situation couldn’t afford to have problems because it might negatively impact her son’s reputation.
Liu Zhiyuan sighed, "Mom, just let her stay at ho. I was too temperantal earlier, so I said so harsh words. You don’t need to say much to her. Right now, she understands my situation."
At this point, Liu Zhiyuan squeezed out words through his teeth, "In everyone’s eyes, hasn’t she always been the virtuous one?"
Wu ngyi deeply examined her son, her expression serious and earnest, "You quarreled with Ye Qian."
The tone was very certain, not questioning.
Liu Zhiyuan remained silent.
Wu ngyi’s brow furrowed even deeper, "Then just stay in the room. I’ll go out and tell Ye Qian not to disturb you."
After leaving the bedroom and closing the door, Wu ngyi walked toward the living room. Seeing soone coming out, Ye Qian quickly stood up to greet her. Wu ngyi nodded to her and walked over to the sofa first.
Ye Qian, seeing her mother-in-law’s actions, knew she had sothing to say. She followed behind and returned to the sofa to sit down.
Seeing Ye Qian sit down, Wu ngyi gently asked, "Did you quarrel with Zhiyuan? Over what? Don’t think you can fool . I can tell that it wasn’t because of your miscarriage. Tell , what was the real reason?"
Her son’s emotional swings worried Wu ngyi, but she knew he was currently upset. If she asked directly, he wouldn’t tell her, so she held back in the bedroom and ca to the living room to ask Ye Qian instead.
Ye Qian looked tense, "Mom, Zhiyuan and I didn’t quarrel. Is there a misunderstanding?"
Wu ngyi didn’t speak, but kept a serious gaze on Ye Qian. Ye Qian was indeed flustered, aware of her husband’s unusual behavior but couldn’t pinpoint the reason. Now that her mother-in-law had noticed, there must be an issue, but she truly didn’t know. Facing her mother-in-law’s probing look, Ye Qian didn’t evade out of guilt. After a while, Wu ngyi confird that Ye Qian wasn’t lying and looked away indifferently.
"As a wife, not knowing your husband’s grievances towards you makes you a disqualified wife." Ever since Ye Qian’s miscarriage, Wu ngyi hadn’t shown her a good face, and now her words sounded like she was reprimanding a subordinate, "As a daughter-in-law of the Liu Family, you failed to keep the family’s descendants, which is unfilial. Secondly, you didn’t care for your husband properly, causing him distress and errors at work. I hope such incidents don’t happen again. Rember?"
Ye Qian bowed her head, softly responding, "Mom, I know my mistake."
Wu ngyi was very dissatisfied with Ye Qian’s apologetic attitude; however, the doorbell rang, leaving no ti for more discussion. She glanced indifferently, "Alright, soone’s at the door. Go answer it!"
With the topic dropped, Ye Qian got up to open the door. Standing outside were Shen Bin and Zhao Guodong.
They had learned about Liu Zhiyuan’s incident yesterday but it was too late to co to the Liu Family. Today they arrived early at the company, learned Liu Zhiyuan had returned ho, and quickly made their way to the compound.
Shen Bin had taken leave to handle family matters, so there wasn’t much for him to do at the company, while Zhao Guodong ca purely out of curiosity.
"Zhiyuan is ho, right? Dongzi and I ca to check on him." Shen Bin spoke smoothly, nodding to Ye Qian, and once she stepped aside, they entered the house.
Zhao Guodong felt uncomfortable being called by his nickna, sneaking a glance at Shen Bin. Seeing no special expression from Shen Bin, he withdrew his gaze. In the living room, Wu ngyi stood up upon seeing the two.
