After returning ho from the company, I still felt a bit uneasy, but couldn’t directly ask Azure about it.

At this mont, my mom called; she already knew about Azure coming to Xylos, it was Sherman Hathaway who told her.

"What’s her intention? Is she deliberately clinging to you? You’ve already divorced Henry, what more does she want?" My mom was quite upset.

I replied, a bit flustered, "She’s here for studies, happened to part-ti at Sherman’s company, sothing happened, and she has already resigned on her own."

"Did Henry also go over there?" My mom’s guess was spot on.

I gave a silent acknowledgent.

This made my mom very angry; she felt that Henry and Azure were bullying , and she wanted to call Henry but I stopped her.

"Mom, don’t worry about these matters, I’ll handle them myself. Please take care of yourself and Dad, especially you, don’t get too emotional, okay?" I was afraid my mom would beco too upset and advised her.

Knowing my personality, my mom understood that saying more was useless, and eventually, it had to be who faced and handled matters, so she did not continue to nag.

Fortunately, nothing happened in the following days; it was very calm, and no one disturbed .

My morning sickness also started to ease. The doctor said that for most people, nausea diminishes after the first two or three months, but the more worrying issue was my belly.

For now, I could still hide it, but in two or three months, it would be very difficult.

"Excuse , please!" Early on a Saturday morning, as I was about to go out shopping, I noticed movers hauling furniture upstairs, and the door opposite mine was wide open.

This community is considered mid-range, nothing very special, but it’s conveniently close to my workplace and my uncle’s house, so Sherman arranged it for .

The room opposite had been unoccupied, but it seed it was rented out now.

I didn’t pay much attention, took a quick glance, and then headed downstairs via the elevator.

By the ti I returned ho from shopping, the door opposite was already closed, indicating the move was likely complete.

"Miss Hathaway??" Just as I was about to close my door, Julian Jennings erged from the elevator, looking pleasantly surprised, "You live here too?"

I stared at him in shock, "Is it you who moved in opposite?"

Julian chuckled, "Yes, to be precise, it’s Henry and I. This place is closer to my office, so we’re renting here for now."

My eyelid twitched; Henry moved to live across from ? Could it be that he really wasn’t living with Azure?

"What’s wrong? You don’t seem... very pleased to have us as your neighbors." Julian asked with concern, "Do you think it’s awkward to still be neighbors after divorcing Henry?"

Of course, it’s awkward. I even suspected Henry moved here deliberately to make uncomfortable, and if Azure knew we beca neighbors, she’d surely be jealous.

What’s going on in his head?

Seeing silent, Julian sighed, "It seems he hurt you deeply."

"It’s all in the past. I wish you both a pleasant stay." I smiled slightly and then closed the door.

Even though it’s now Julian and Henry living opposite, I’ve never actually seen Henry; every ti I go in and out for work, I only see Julian coming and going.

Which is fine; I don’t want to et Henry. If nothing unexpected happens, I’ll be moving out soon.

"Off work, Miss Hathaway." Every ti Julian sees , he greets first. He’s always very enthusiastic.

"Yeah." I nodded.

"Ivan’s over here, you know?" Julian laughed, "So, we’re throwing a party tonight, and you’re welco to join."

How could I join? I want to avoid both Henry and Ivan at all costs.

"No, I’m a bit tired today, planning to sleep early." I shook my head.

Julian didn’t insist, "Alright then, rest well."

Around nine-thirty in the evening, I heard a rather noisy commotion outside, like several people talking. I went to the door to look through the peephole; it was indeed lively across the hall.

Henry, Ivan, Azure, Joy Lawson were there, along with a few others I didn’t recognize.

Henry seed to sense watching from behind the peephole, and he sharply turned his gaze toward my door, his eyes deep and contemplative.

I quickly withdrew my gaze and went back to sit on the sofa.

Gradually, the noise from across the corridor reduced significantly, likely because they closed the door, which was just in ti for to get so sleep.

After washing up, I prepared to rest.

Suddenly, the doorbell rang, startling ; I went to check outside through the peephole, finding a blonde woman waiting at my door.

I questioned her in English, "Do you need sothing?"

The blonde woman hesitated, "Sorry, we’re making a salad fruit platter and realized we don’t have any salad dressing. Do you have any we could borrow?"

I glanced at the open door across, catching glimpses of figures moving inside.

Reluctant to be seen by Henry and others, I refused the blonde woman, "Sorry, I don’t have any salad dressing."

The blonde seed a bit disappointed as she turned back, saying sothing to the people inside. Soon, Julian and she left along with Joy Lawson, entering the elevator to go downstairs.

They were likely going to buy salad dressing. Feeling a bit anxious, I felt like a fugitive, unwilling to step outside my apartnt for fear of being discovered.

I returned to my bedroom, lay down, and cleared my mind to get so sleep, and thanks to the child in my belly, I soon dozed off.

"Boom!" A thunderous crash woke from my slumber. I groggily glanced at the bedroom window, outside a storm raged with lightning and thunder.

I instantly awoke, my entire body tensing up.

Checking my phone, it was already three-thirty in the morning.

"Tap!" Sothing fell in the living room with a loud noise, annoying as I got up to check, concerned sothing might have blown in since the balcony door was open.

The living room was undisturbed, except the rack I used for hanging socks had fallen on the balcony. Rainwater was drifting inside, and I moved to shut the balcony door, but it wouldn’t budge at the critical mont.

Another startling thunderclap rang out, scaring into a scream, my heart pounding wildly.

I dreaded such weather, always wishing to bundle myself up like a cocoon for a sense of safety.

"Zoe Hathaway!" Suddenly Henry’s voice ca from outside, undrowned by the rumbling thunder.

I tried to calm myself and ran to open the door, seeking Henry’s help to close the balcony door.

As soon as I opened it, a burst of lightning and thunder clattered noisily; I quickly covered my ears but found myself wrapped in Henry’s embrace. He patted my back, "It’s just thunder, don’t be afraid."
