Chapter 723: Chapter 721 You Are Really Amazing
Then, with a stern face, she turned towards her son, “You stay here and study with your sister diligently, don’t be naughty, and don’t disturb your sister’s studying, understand?”
“Understood, mom, don’t worry, I’ll do my howork properly.”
Wang Li had now beco immune to his mother’s nagging, he sat down next to Jiang Mianmian on a stool, as he frivolously agreed while taking his howork out of his backpack.
Seeing the adults leave the house with laughter and chatter, riding away on their bicycles, Wang Li imdiately pushed his books aside and leaned in excitedly towards Jiang Mianmian asking, “Jiang Mianmian, on your trip to Capital City this ti, what fun stuff did you find?”
“This ti I went to the amusent park and the Imperial Mausoleum—,” Jiang Mianmian reminisced while speaking.
“Wow! Jiang Mianmian, you’re quite brave! You even dared to visit the Imperial Mausoleum! Is it scary in there? Are there any bodies?” Wang Li exclaid before she could finish, his face becoming even more animated.
Li Lan, however, showed a bit of fear, with an expression of wanting to listen but not quite daring to.
Jiang Mianmian shook her head, “There are no bodies; anything of value and the bodies have long been removed by the experts.”
“Oh, I see, then there isn’t much to see,” Wang Li pouted, instantly losing interest.
“Then you’d better get on with your howork.”
Jiang Mianmian stopped the topic there, her gaze fixed on his brand-new sumr howork as she firmly stated, “You haven’t started on a single word since the vacation began, have you?”
“Hehe, Jiang Mianmian, you really are omniscient—just like a god! You’re right, I haven’t written a thing,” Wang Li scratched his head and admitted honestly.
“Then you should hurry up and write,” Jiang Mianmian gently reminded him, tapping his howork with her pen, “You should know that if you don’t do your howork, Teacher Qiu will punish you by slapping your palms.”
“I know, you talk more than my mom,” Wang Li muttered under his breath as he opened up his howork.
After so much ti together, he had co to regard Jiang Mianmian as a friend from the bottom of his heart.
And the more he got to know Jiang Mianmian, the more he respected this academic prodigy who liked to skip grades.
Especially as an underachiever himself, Wang Li felt a nearly instinctive awe of the overachiever.
So in front of Jiang Mianmian, Wang Li naturally behaved much more obediently.
Wang Li had just finished two questions when Li Lan arrived, backpack in tow.
Jiang Mianmian’s attitude toward Li Lan was much better than towards Wang Li.
“Sister Lanlan, you’ve arrived. Want so soda? My dad just bought so new ones yesterday at the Supply and Marketing Cooperative.”
Jiang Mianmian said as she walked over to the well, took out three bottles of soda from the bucket filled with cool well water, which Jiang Changhai had put in to chill, and handed one to each of them.
Li Lan received the cold soda, pressed it against her face, and let out a comfortable sigh, “Thanks, Mianmian, I was actually feeling a bit thirsty.”
“Thanks, Jiang Mianmian.”
Wang Li didn’t care that he was rely included by chance; as long as there was sothing to drink, it was fine.
After saying thanks, he hastily opened his soda, took a sip, and the chilled beverage slid down his throat, making his eyes squint with delight.
The three of them drank their beverages, chatting away, although, mostly, it was Jiang Mianmian and Li Lan talking while Wang Li listened on the side.
“Mianmian, I’ll be able to go to the sa school as you next sester. Shall we go to school together then?” Li Lan asked excitedly.
“Of course, Sister Lanlan, we could even eat lunch together,” Jiang Mianmian suggested with a smile.
She really liked Li Lan, the girl from next door; she spoke softly and was hardworking and diligent in her studies.
