Chapter 697: Chapter 697: Happy Yet Unsatisfying

Big Uncle Su noticed Jiang Changhai’s aloof deanor, but didn’t mind it.

After all, what they had done back then was indeed quite heartless.

But under those circumstances, they had no other choice, though now he saw an opportunity to make ands.

“Wanyu, when did you arrive in Haicheng? How have you been all these years?” Big Uncle Su looked at Su Wanyu with affection as he asked.

“Uncle, I ca over a few days ago. I’ve been doing quite well these years, and Brother Hai has been very good to . You don’t need to worry,” Su Wanyu politely replied.

“Ah, as long as you’re doing well, that puts our minds at ease. Wanyu, it’s been more than ten years since the two of us last t. Co, let’s go to my house for a visit. Today, your cousin and her children are all back too,” Big Uncle Su said warmly.

Su Wanyu thought for a mont and ultimately didn’t refuse Big Uncle Su’s warm invitation.

Big Uncle Su was out buying groceries, but now that he saw them, he didn’t buy his groceries, instead directly leading the two of them to his ho.

Big Uncle Su’s family still lived in the sa old house, not too far from here.

Su Wanyu looked at the familiar yet strange scenery, recalling the countless tis she had walked this road with her parents as a child, and felt a mont of nostalgia. After about ten minutes of walking, they arrived.

As soon as they entered the house, Big Uncle Su excitedly shouted into the house, “Wife, Wanting, co out quickly and see who I’ve brought ho.”

“Who did you bring back that’s got you so excited?” Aunt Su’s voice arrived before she did.

When she ca out and saw Su Wanyu, her eyes instantly widened in surprise, “Wan, Wanyu, you’re back?”

“Yes, Aunt, I’m back,” Su Wanyu said with a light smile.

Su Wanting, trailing behind her mom, was astonished at how young and beautiful Su Wanyu still looked, without a single wrinkle on her face, and she found herself speechless for a long mont.

Su Wanting was Su Wanyu’s cousin, Big Uncle Su’s younger daughter; the two cousins were of a similar age and had grown up together.

However, Su Wanting had always been highly competitive, always striving to be first or second in everything ahead of Su Wanyu, so seeing Su Wanyu co back looking so radiant and glamorous made her feel mixed emotions.

She was pleased that her sister, despite having been sent away all those years ago, appeared not to have suffered much and seed to be living well.

What bothered her was that over the years, dealing with family and children had aged her considerably, whereas Su Wanyu still looked like a woman in her twenties.

She had never been as beautiful as Su Wanyu, and now standing next to her, the contrast made them look like they were a decade apart. This huge disparity was deeply unsettling for her.

Su Wanyu, seeing her cousin frozen in place, teasingly said, “Big sister, what’s wrong? Haven’t seen in so many years, don’t you recognize anymore?”

“Who wouldn’t recognize you? Wanyu, how have you not changed a bit over all these years?” Su Wanting quickly walked over and held Su Wanyu’s hand, looking her over closely.

“Big sister, you haven’t changed much either, still looking the sa,” Su Wanyu said with a beaming smile.

“Wanyu, is it really you? Where have you been all these years? Aunt is so delighted to see you,” said Aunt Su.

It took Aunt Su a while to co to terms with it, her eyes red as she ca over and held Su Wanyu’s hand, examining her closely.
