Chapter 604: Chapter 604: The Essence of Simplicity
“Hmm, I know, Teacher Liu, don’t worry,” Jiang Mianmian nodded obediently.
“Mianmian, how are you doing at the new school? Are you adjusting well? Is studying too tiring?” Teacher Liu asked with concern.
Jiang Mianmian smiled sweetly, “Don’t worry, Teacher Liu, the teachers and classmates at the new school are very nice to , and they take good care of . Studying isn’t tiring, and I’m also self-studying the later courses now.”
“Is that so? That’s good, I was a bit worried that you might not adapt to middle school so suddenly, after all, it’s different from primary school. Not only have you switched environnts, but there are also more subjects you need to learn. Now that I know you are adapting so well, Teacher ng and I can rest assured,” said Teacher Liu with relief.
There was no doubt about Jiang Mianmian’s diligence and hard work. She had a brighter mind than her peers, yet she still worked so hard in her studies.
Teacher Liu firmly believed that as long as she maintained her efforts, she would definitely achieve great things in the future.
After chatting for a while and noticing it was getting late, Jiang Mianmian stood up to take her leave, “Teacher Liu, it’s getting late, I should be going.”
“Stay a little longer, your teacher’s wife has gone out visiting, wait for her to co back and have dinner before you go,” Teacher Liu urged.
Jiang Mianmian shook her head, “No, thank you, Teacher Liu, I still need to stop by Teacher ng’s place.”
“I see, well, co visit when you have ti,” Teacher Liu pushed her glasses up and looked at Jiang Mianmian affectionately as she urged her.
“Understood, Teacher Liu, you don’t need to see out.”
Jiang Mianmian had walked quite a distance but when she looked back, she still saw Teacher Liu standing at the doorway, watching her.
After leaving Teacher Liu’s house, Jiang Mianmian went to Teacher ng’s house.
ng Weidong was also very surprised to see her, and after they chatted for a while, Jiang Mianmian similarly declined the generous offer to stay for dinner.
At the sa ti, Jiang Changhai was indeed chatting with the brigade leader of the commune and Secretary Yang.
“Changhai, how long can you stay this ti?” the brigade leader asked, looking at Jiang Changhai, who was dressed neatly and looked respectable.
“Our transport company is really busy, so I only got four days off. I can’t stay long; I have to go back soon,” Jiang Changhai replied cheerfully.
Secretary Yang also laughed, “Being busy is good! Only if you’re busy will the factory’s performance be good, and then the wages and benefits of you workers can be higher.”
Jiang Changhai nodded in agreent, “Yes! Our factory received a big order before the New Year. This one order is equivalent to three months of our shipnts. That’s why a few of our masters didn’t take a break over the New Year; they went on long trips. We expect to be busy for a while after we resu work.”
The brigade leader and Secretary Yang felt emotional as they listened to him talk about the transport company in full flow.
This Jiang Changhai had really changed!
Although he still seed a bit casual in his deanor, his speech and behavior no longer resembled that of the lazy person from the past who only knew how to shirk work and was idle.
Instead, he had beco the young and promising city worker that everyone in the village talked about.
Yet, he hadn’t lost the simple nature of the countryside people and didn’t put on airs like so city folks do.
Looking at Jiang Changhai, Secretary Yang patted his shoulder and said with emotion, “Changhai, you are now the most promising young man in our village. If you have the capability in the future, rember to help out the young people in our village.”
“Secretary Yang, don’t worry about that. Stone Bridge Village is my ho no matter when, and if I ever make sothing of myself, I definitely won’t forget my roots,” Jiang Changhai nodded earnestly.
